May. 21st, 2009 12:27 pmFortunately, Erin reminded me I have a video feature on my camera. Unfortunately I forgot to recharge my battery. Even more unfortunately, I accidentally changed the quality on the images I was taking pictures so since I use a script to resize a bunch of them are too small.
I so regret not filming the day before and my visit to Jesus' grave and the blizzard,And my visit to Sakata later on but we all make mistakes and at least there are pictures of demon spawn babies so we can all share the experience.

I've just realized I've not posted in a long time. It's not because I was on some sort of strike or anti-strike or anything of the sort, I just got busy and haven't had the time to post. Happy Easter to those who celebrate, personally I am excited for my holiday tomorrow, the Post-Easter 1/2 price chocolate sale! Woot!

sumeragiskank came up to visit and I also went to go and see Patrick Stewart in Macbeth. Stewart was amazing and I liked his take on Macbeth and his ambition. I also loved the way how the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth came off as extremely sexual, romantic and a bit loving. Usually they just seem more like a political union not one in which the couple actually care for one another. I also thought the way MacDuff handled the deaths of his wife and children was really well done. The blood and the murder of Banquo were superb and I loved Banquo's ghost during the dinner.
Things I didn't like as much or found disconcerting: It was loud, like a little too loud. It might have been because of where I was sitting, but the loundness was unsettling. Some of the special effects, in particular vaguely electricity/static-like sound combined with the elevator noises and motif made me feel like I was on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. I kept expecting one of the witches to start sing-songing "It's raining, it's pouring!" I found myself slashing Prince Malcolm and his brother, and I don't think I've ever done that before. It was quite disconcerting lol
Havingsumeragiskank visit was awesome though it left me tired for the rest of the week and it sort of ruined my gym plans for the week. ^_^;; She also introduced me to: Yu Gi Oh Abridged. It just kills me and I've only seen a smattering of episodes and none of the dubs. Really one doesn't need to have ever watched the series or care about the series to enjoy these well done parodies. I only wish there were more for other series.
Friday, I went back to work and temped. It made me realize that sometimes it might be nice to work part time, maybe.
I have to order seed things so I can start planting soon and I need to start my Passover cleaning. Hopefully next week will bring both about.

Kyoto and Umeda
Nov. 13th, 2007 01:33 pmAfter visiting Miyajima, I decided the next day I might want to see a doctor about my hand. It wasn't so swollen, but it did hurt an awful lot. (It's still a little painful but doing much better, though still not perfect.) This involved calling up a Japanese service that recommend clinics and then trying to find the clinic. The directions were a challenge (walk in the direction of the setting sun, how can you find west in downtown Osaka?!?!) but we managed and got to the clinic. I was rather nervous as they didn't take credit cards and my US insurance wasn't valid in Japan and I'd not bought trip insurance as it is rather expensive. After about 10 or so minutes we were called in to meet a very nice doctor. His English was limited, so was our Japanese but we managed to make the problem clear and after checking the price I was given 3 X-rays. Nothing was broken, my hand was securely wrapped and I paid by bill of 4700 yen after my discount for being a pathetic and sad foreigner.
The next day we returned to our regular touring scheduling, first going to Tenshi no Sato which took waaaaaay too long (sorry no pictures) and then went to TenRyu-ji. And yes all X fans, that means exactly what you think. XD;
( The next question is there a ChiRyu Temple.. )
The next day we went shopping and then went to Umeda to seeyanchamonkey and the International Beerfest. I'm not a huge drinker, but I had always wanted to see the Umeda Sky Building even if you would have to pay me a lot of money to go to the top.
Warning other than the people pictures the other pictures are not as compressed so that you too can read the story we discovered while walking to the Umeda Sky Building. It's possible I have some pieces mixed up, if you think you know better please help me!

Pointless whining
Jun. 18th, 2007 09:28 pmI love my husband dearly, but I am becoming more and more positive that I am better at yard work than he is, or rather, he has a tendency to stretch himself in so many directions that things don't get done while I just am lazy. lol So while the weather is not completely miserable and I have the energy to do it, I'm working on the yard. Tuesday is compost day, so I decided this evening to move all the dead branches form the backyard (from God knows how long ago) to the front to be composted. I also did more work on the green evergreen bush that likes to grow into my azalea. Every so often I do trim, but not nearly enough. I know the azalea was smaller when we first bought the house, but I would like to get it even larger since I like azaleas. I'm also still trying to keep the 4th hydrangea from dying. This means trying to mulch it and watering it 2x a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Since starting this new program, yesterday, it does look marginally better. We shall see how it looks next week end. The other 3 actually have tiny new leaves so I think I successfully got them in the ground for now, though one of them so needs a stake since the branches are going all over the place. Tomorrow I hope to get one as well as mapping out what is where. I'm also considering getting a working wheel barrow, but I haven't told my husband yet. I seriously need to see what can be bought used cheaply. I am also rather determined to make it to a gardening store this week, just to see what is out there that I can plant near the hydrangea since it will be a while before they're large enough to take over. I so want to plant bulbs in fall!
In other happy news, I downloaded a ton of bad current pop songs which just makes me so happy. For those who don't know by now, I actually *LIKE* bad music and make no apologies about it. I've decided I like Fall Out Boy, or at least the songs the radio plays by them, with "Thnks fr th mmrs" my hands down favorite. I'm also enjoying "Like a Boy" and I'm s sad no one has made an Utena AMV to it yet. I also really like Pink, or again the songs the radio plays by her.
So since I was enjoying my bad pop songs:
Face Down starring Ouran Kyouya wants to save Haruhi from abusive boyfriend Tamaki. It's quite well done considering Ouran has a dearth of abused Haruhi footage. I also found a very wrong abused girlfriend Usagi (by Mamoru) amv to this song which just makes me snicker.
"Face Down" is really popular to do to Naruto and often sat abusive boyfriend Sasuke. lol
What if the OP to Code Geass was another Sunrise OP (and no it's not a Seed song.

Jun. 15th, 2007 07:23 pmSorry I've been so missing in action lately. I've been trying to help my mom by looking after her cats. I've also just gotten behind on things due to the Dolpa last week end. I'm excited tomorrow to go berry picking with twotone and I think I managed to get my hydrangea into the ground before they died. I'm now starting to think of what else I want to do with my yard. A part of me wants to rip out the little evergreen bushes in front and put in blueberries. My mother bought a blueberry bush today, and it should be interesting to see how it does. Her raspberries never did well, but the blackberries are. Her shmuck of a next door neighbor still refuses to move his invisible fence from her property. We're both plotting to cut the line early one morning. It's really obnoxious what they're doing since my mother complained to them once already and cut it once as well. ~.~
I am completely in love with the Fall Out Boy song "Thnks fr th mmrs" except, for some unknown reason most of the people doing AMVs to it seem to think it is a sappy love song. o_O It's like "Love Song" by the Cure. Do people not actually listen to the lyrics?!?! I remember someone once did this really sappy TezuFuji FST, and I don't begrudge them liking sappy songs or wanting to give sappy songs to their pairing, (heck, I certainly do the same for pairings I like!) but they had "Love Song" in it, and I was o_O as it's NOT a happy love song. It's a song about a couple who is messed up, with lyrics like Whatever words I say, I will always love you which makes me think someone is saying words that would make one think otherwise. To me it screams Seishirou/Subaru from X, you know with that whole obsession and claim of not caring about the other, but that could just be me. But so anyway, most people seem to think "Thnks fr th mmrs" is some sort of romantic love song when Fall Out Boy has even said it is about a crappy relationship which is just sex now. ^^;;; However, after much searching I finally found an amazing and very wrong AMV to it:
Ouran to Thnks fr th mmrs Just to warn those now, it is Kyoya x Haruhi and Tamaki x Haruhi. I am actually amazed at how much footage there is in Ouran that works for it.
It so makes me want to make AMVs cause I think Lelouch needs to sing to Euphie Thanks for the memories, he tastes like you only sweeter I also really want to start a discussion on the Geass Community. There is this large group of people that seem to think that the Geass storyline has killed off any possibility of Lelouch/Suzaku which just has me going o_O Are these fans insane?!?!
In other news, I think I will be able to go to Japan in October now which is very very happy. Well, assuming I stay good about selling and not buying. Though I think I will need a Lelouch alarm clock, because really what gets one moving in the morning like Lelouch laughing hysterically. lol

It all started when Rebecca reminded me of my love of singing the "We're not Candy" PSA. For those who don't know it, it consisted of several puppet pills singing about not being candy. Its made me sort of wonder how much my thought processes have been corrupted by these scary PSAs.
So taking a trip down memory lane...
Anyone else remember Mormon PSAs? I confess I remember the one with the "When you give a little bit of yourself" and the boy haunted by telling lies better than this one. This was actually my first introduction to Mormonism.
The Munchies Everyone knows about SchoolHouse Rock, but who remembers the "Bod Squad" and trying to avoid "The Munchies", "Keeping your Choppers Healthy", and hankering "For a Hunka Cheese" XD;
We're not Candy This is the short version and is missing two verses, one about this being serious! And the other about doctors and pharmacies. lol

The last few days have been happy package days. It started with the 31st when I awoke from a dream wherein I was awoken by the postman with a package, several hours later I was awoken by the postman with an actual package! (A Mio outfit <3 ) Last night I made some Amazon purchases, and the first set of them arrived today, Love Mode 3+4 and Shout Out Loud 2. So much happiness!
In other news, we got a hguge wood delivery and since my husband is cheap, he wanted it just dumped in the front yard. I had thought we had to worry about bratty kids taking wood from the pile, little did I know the truth. So yesterday this station wagon pulls up to my house and this woman in her 50's-60's comes out and rings my bell. Not being overly friendly if I am not expecting visitors I did not open up but watcher her from inside. Well, not more than 5 minutes later she was trying to cart off some of my wood! o_O I went outside and put a stop to that, and then put a sign on the wood to warn people off. Grrrrrrr.
Thanks toreynardine I went off looking for some of 1776 from the production I saw on Broadway a bunch of years ago. I had really liked the fellow who played John Dickinson, and thought he was better than the original by quite a bit. In so doing I discovered 1776 fan videos o_O
I'm glad to see someone else was slashing Adams/Jefferson lol Though of course I would love to see some Dickinson/Adams slash cause I am a bad person
