My parents were just informed by Con-Ed (their power company) today that their electric won't be back anywhere from 1 week to 1 month from now. Yes, you read that right, 1 MONTH. The problem with electric being out is your boiler won't work, which means not only no power but no heat, and then you need to worry about your pipes freezing, it is not a happy thing. Mom said the house is down to 45 now. To be honest, Mom of course has not been staying in the house much but has been staying with me. My Dad finally abandoned the house on Saturday and is staying with his sister. The cats have fur coats and will be OK. I'm glad I can help my Mom out, but if it seriously might be a month this leaves us with a lot to think about because well a month is a looooooong time and I live about 1 hour from my mom's office. The only way to get there is by car since our nearest train doesn't connect to their train line. To make things more fun, we're moving in 2 weeks! Now we're not moving far, our new house is only about 3 miles from our current place, but we still need to get things together.

So for me, I wanted a list so I can help sort through everything..

Yes, it's that time, the time when I realize OMG I'm going to Japan soon and I'm not ready lol

So here is my list which I hope to get a start on soon.

1) Do stretches
2) Plant Potatoes
3) Get International Driver's License
4) Buy Erin raisins
5) But more eggs and milk
6) make a quiche crusts (2 for Hubby for when I am away)
7) make pizzas (2 for hubby for when I am away)
8) finish packing (I am about 1/4 done but have finished the laundry!)
9) Figure out my hotel for the 29th/30th
10) Look at doujinshi so I don't end up with more GinoSuza dups >>;;
11) Pack up some packages to mail and either mail them or leave them for hubby to mail

So, once again, I leave for Japan. In two days. In two days I go to Japan. AHHHHH! I really really want to go, but I have so much to do. In a probably vain attempt to keep myself on the straight and narrow, a list of what must be done sometime on Sunday and/or Monday.

Change husband's meals to vegetarian on ticket
call credit cards (both visas)
make sure both visa bills get paid
get 22 inch carry on wheelie since current medium size wheelie is 24 inches, d'oh!
transfer notes from loveless mini notebook to new one
rent cell phone for husband for 3 days
get gas for car
make sure there is food in the house before I leave for husband until he leaves
make sure someone is watching the babies
Try to get Kate her Wii GOT!!!
Try to get Kate her Lundberg pilaf thing
Steal catbook from Mom
Pack
Do laundry
Put away laundry

So for those who are curious, I made my decision about Pocket Fairies. I woke up at 4 am, placed my order, and sent my transfer which has already been received. O_O I'm seriously hoping this mean they'll start work on my dolls on Tuesday. A tiny part of me hopes beyond hope they made a few extra PFs knowing they would get some orders with the new site and everything will ship sooner than 28 days from now. I'm getting Peter and Yoko. I do actually really like Chou, but I think she will have to wait. *secretly also hopes NDR has the new Yoko boy/girl twins or at the very least wigs and outfits*

For those who don't know, I'm going to Japan in less than a week which means time to make a list of 'to do' things. Usually I wait until the day before I go, but this week the 2 days before are Jewish holidays which puts something of a cramp on my preparations. I'm really really looking forward to this trip, but traveling around the holidays is hard!

To do:

Fix my favorite shoes if possible
Find a way to get my new Mac battery
Get Traveler's Checks.
Print out pictures of possible FCS face-ups
Print out pictures of Jinny and Stephen my two MSDs to make pins
Look into getting another bookbag since my current one is sweaty and gross
Get spices
Get the book for muscatlove
Find where I have my plane info ^^;;
Burn some more anime to DVD to bring with *cough* more Destiny *cough*
Make sure things are settled with BF
Buy groceries for company
Clean for company
Buy groceries for husband to eat while in Japan
Reserve airport limo for ride home from airport
Think about trying to get Yuki new keys ^^;

I keep thinking about writing my few random thoughts on Loveless anime and the first 15 episodes of Gundam Seed Destiny, but then I'm not sure anyone really wants to read them lol As usual, my views differ from nearly everyone else I know, (Except on Cagari, GAH!) but I've sort of gotten used to that. Perhaps things will change as I continue the series, but I sort of doubt it.

At least I found my Passport...

Cause I'm going back to Japan ^^;

Let's see, I need to:
1) Get money/get traveler's checks
2) Figure out my Kansai reservations
3) Extend my Tokyo reservations by a day
4) Write down directions to the Yuuta event cause I *HAVE* to go to that
5) Write down the location of Osaka Comic City again
6) Mail out some packages
7) Pack
8) Do more laundry ^^;;
9) Get Penal-tea back on-line with sumeragiskank

Fortunately, this time I have two days instead of one to do this list.

It would be great if I could write up a LJ entry about my last trip, but I don't think that is happening until I get back. *sighs*

Happy Belated Birthday ginarolo. I wished you a Happy Birthday at the club, but haven't been posting to either blog really except to respond to other people's comments.

I've been thinking about trying to write a short Fuji POV to mirror my earlier Yuuta POV, but I'm not sure I can successfully do it. On the bright side, it is a 14 hour flight to Japan...It's sort of funy because I have those 3 Fujicest fics I am in the middle of and I ought to be working on them. Or at least trying to get the first chapter together for the really long one...

Speaking of fan-fiction, thanks to sumeragiskank I read some recently. When I first got into X, I read practically *EVERYTHING* I could find, but some time this past Winter I stopped reading nearly all fan-fiction. (Except when a friend really encourages my reading a particular fiction.) When I first started reading things, I liked nearly everything, any chance to get to see my favorite X characters doing anything just made me squeal with joy. Slowly, I grew to detest most X ficcage as I found the plots and characterizations didn't work with my conception of X and then before I knew it, I didn't really care so much about X because I was in love with Prince of Tennis. Coming from my anti-fan-fiction stance, I never read a lot of Prince of Tennis fan-fiction, something I am usually grateful for the few times I've dipped my toes in, but recently, I read a few more fics. It's nice to see some weirder pairings getting fics now(even if they're pairings I don't necessarily ship.) It's nice to see things being written by people who appear to have actually watched Prince of Tennis. It's nice to see things being written by people who have a decent command of the English language.
