Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] cc_lemon, expect something in the mail.

So, for those who don't know I'm getting ready for another trip to Japan. I need to get a new digital camera, as the crack in my LCD has gotten larger. I think I want something with image stabilization, since I'm only so good at taking pictures. [livejournal.com profile] muscatlove was telling me about her camera, but I'm not sure if it will do what I want. I also want my camera to be light and small, since carrying around a bulky large camera like my first digital one, I just won't do. If anyone wants to recommend something to me, please do. I want something easy to use and no more than $500.

I've also decided to quit my job. A lot of people have asked me, "Rachel, what will you do when you quit your job?" And to be honest, I already feel overwhelmed with everything I have to do. I have *TONS* of Takara dolls I want to sell, tons of anime items, and then I can start work cleaning and getting rid of everything else from my house I don't want. I'd also love to spend some time sewing.

For those who collect anime things, please be on the look out since I hope to update yamanote-line with some new items and lower prices and put a ton of things on ebay. I want to completely re-haul the site by giving it a new design, but I have beeen lazy. It is something I will work on though! I have a ultra hard to find Fujicest laminate made by Team Up/Tenpo and a Fujicest postcard from NightWave. Also lots of other weird and random items and I plan to majorly cut down on the amount of doujinshi I own.

BTW, look, new LJ icon! And it was drawn by me for those curious :)

You want a Cannon SD500. 7 megapixels, tiny camera, good Cannon quality, good price. They released the SD550 which is an ugly color and has a too-large battery eating LCD, so the SD500 has come down in price quite a bit (it was over $400 when I got it -.-) Cheap on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TJ5AK/sr=8-1/qid=1155235368/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-3369672-1912050?ie=UTF8)

I'd forget image stabilization and just get a lightweight portable tripod or monopod. Cameras with image stabilazation are generally larger and it doesn't work nearly as well as a tripod.

the reason I want image stabilization, is there are times a tripod is untenable. Like taking picture in odd indoor lighting at a Japanese event or taking pictures of my cats where they don't get red eye. You just can't set up a tripod at events. I know there are a few smaller cameras with image stabilization.

But i will definitely look at them one as well. :)
