So yesterday, I went to the Cheesecake Factory. The main course was sort of mediocre, though the cheesecake was quite good. (though in all honesty not as good as mine when I make it, or the decadent piece of Eli's I bought in the Chicago airport) The most interesting aspect of the meal was the waiter.

Usually, when I go out to eat, I'm with the husband, or larger group of friends, but this time it was just me and my friend. Our branch of the Cheesecake Factory, is extraordinarily busy. We waited 20 minutes for our small table for 2. I sat on the inside on a long booth, and my friend sat on a chair across from me, We weren't squished, but there were also dinners on my left and right.

Our waiter originally knelt near us when taking our order, but as the meal continued, he came and sat on the booth next to me. I confess, I've never really had this experience before.

So...

Could it be a combination of being tired and needing to sit and flirting for a tip? ;)

When I go to Cheesecake Factory, I often get the kneeling down and leaning in and smiling thing. Is this something they train? Heh.

Kneeling and smiling thing wasn't so odd, the sitting down with us thing I found a bit disconcerting, maybe I am old fashioned lol

Actually, I would sort of prefer he wasn't. lol

It actually had me going o_O;;;

I appreciate the job wait staff do, but I haven't invited them to join me for dinner. :P

I was going to ask if you had used that super good-smelling -- was it chocolate chip shampoo? But then, it's the Cheesecake Factory, so you wouldn't think that would phase one of their waiters... XD

I know! At least 75% of it is EBay's fault, though -- I've been bubblewrapping every night for like, a week. (And then I spent most of Saturday catching up on sleep.) I will be on later this week -- maybe tomorrow, and certainly by Wednesday. *hugs*

(Btw, one of the two finalists for the Apprentice is the cute Jewish kid with the Russian mafia boyfriend! :D Except he looks like he's losing right now. *cries*)

The wait-staff do that at Outback Steakhouse all the freaking time. Personally I don't find it friendly, homey or chatty. I find it invasive and overly personal, but hey.

I've only been to the Cheesecake Factory once before, in Baltimore during Otakon. We waited almost an hour for a table at after 9pm. I think they're just always uber-crowded. Cheesecake was good though. Probably a good thing we don't have one in the metro-Detroit area.
