So for those who don't know, it's New Years Time, so I'm wishing everyone a Happy New Years. New Years particularly amuses me, since it's the time for apples and honey *snickers* Anyone want to guess what type of apples I bought to go with my honey? :P

I got 3 submissions for my fan-art contest at Kyoudai-ai already!!!! YEAH!!!!!

Any, for those who don't know, I will be going to Japan in Oct, so if you're in the Tokyo area and want to meet, drop me a line or something. People say I'm incredibly genki in real life...I am obsessed with Yuuta and rather fond of Fujicest, so just a warning... But if you get me talking about Gundam Seed it's always a good thing as I like nearly everyone in it. I'm also going to be attending some of the events listed on the Penal-tea events pages, I'm sure you can guess which. *laughs* I also like Tsubasa, Whistle, Utena, CCS, and find myself still watching FMA cause I need to see if Greed is going to come back as Greed the White XD

And a Happy New Year to you too ^_^ I got the card, thanks - turned out it arrived on Saturday but I left too early in the morning to get it, so didn't find out till Sunday. (Sorry, forgot to log-in and say thanks, have no time to breathe right now as the last month of my courses is very hectic!)

I'm slow ^^;; My Hebrew was never good *laughs* My Bat Mitzvah lessons were one of the hardest things I ever had to do and eventually I just memorized the sounds and never learned what I was actually saying. But I did it!

Happy New Year, Rachel!! And have fun in Tokyo in October! (I think I've pretty much decided on centering my trip next year in Kyoto and working outwards from there--Nara and maybe another sidetrip. Still haven't settled on a date yet, though.)

How long will you be in Japan? Tokyo's a bit out of my reach, as I'm in Osaka with a job and no money to travel that far.

I'm hopefully going to be in Japan from October 22 until November 4. ^^ It gets really expensive trying to leave Tokyo and it's cheaper to fly in and out of Narita from the US enerally.

BTW if you email me using the email address listed for doujinshi sales at www.yamanote-line.net/sale (I don't want to list it here cause I've been getting a lot of spam and I can't encrypt ^^;) I can talk to you about a possible trade of some anime XD

Weee! Happy new year! :-D

My mother went on an apple buying spree, & they were all fujis. LOL Very tasty, I think the only ones I like better are royal gala.

I recently got hold of Utena and Tsubasa too - fell in love with them in about three minutes flat. XD Except Tsubasa makes me miss CCS.^^;;; Haven't seen FMA yet, but everyone (like: EVERYONE @_@) says it's good.

*HUGS*

Hmmmmmm I enjoy FMA, but I don't know if I would necessary say it's always good. I think the series was quite good until like 42, and since then it's been sort of ehhhh. Though I was highly amused by episode 48. Mostly I find myself watching now to see if characters I like will live and if characters I hate will die. It's a bit like X in that FMA has no qualms in killing people off. >.<

Utena on the other hand, I think is a fascinating series which opens lots of questions. If you haven't see it I would also recommend Princess Tutu that has many similarities to Princess Tutu. (Though I confess I stopped at 13 and I hear people either like or hate the next 14-26, but you can end at 13 and have a satisfying conclusion!)

I use to prefer Greenings and Ida Reds but now I only really do Fujis XD *laughs* I made an apple crisp with some today.

...then I will have to watch Princess Tutu! ^_^ Utena, as you said, is what X aspired to be (if X had, y'know, some actual meaningful allegorical stuff instead of "feathers, gears, ooh apocalypse" -- BTW, good call on Keiichi as Wakaba. ROFL!! Indeed he is :D). I very much like the Utena/Anthy stuff too, with the Prince vs Princess thing. The ending of the manga, with what happens to Anthy, is particularly satisfying.

Yes, I truly and honestly believe that XTV wanted to have the same emotional resonance as Utena and since you've seen both, it's easy to see Kamui's sacrifice to get back/free Fuuma as the same as Utena's to free Anthy. And the way both sort of vanish rather than actually "die" so to speak.

Princess Tutu is fasvinating and very surreal at times and I would definitely recommend at least the first 13 episodes. Ahiru, the main character, is very endearing.

I haven't read Utena manga yet ^^;;

Wheeee!! Yeah!!! I'm mostly friendly, OK people say I am scarily friendly. I've been to Japan/Tokyo before, so generally when I go to Japan now I mostly just shop. *laughs* But so many anime shops to hit and I am bad and like to go through the doujinshi at Mandarake and K-books. ^o^

Are you going to any of the upcoming events?

I want to go to some events like Comic City 106, the Yuuta event on Oct 31, the minor character event on 11/3 and the uke Ohtori event on 11/14. I don`t know if I will actually be able to go to any of them though because I will be coming back to Tokyo from Nagano on 10/31, I am going to the Kimeru concert on 11/3...so I may only be able to go to Comic City and the uke Ohtori event. I might try to go to the Rokkaku event this weekend if I can figure out where exactly it is. ^^;;

Oh, and I got your card!! Thank you so much for sending it....mail makes me happy. ^__^

I'll be gone by the uke Ohtori event, but I've been to that location before (the Yuuta event in 2003 was there) and I can tell you how to get there. It's really easy. ^^

Well hmmmm, if you can get an early enough trip back from Nagano you can possibly make it to the event still, a lot depends on how much luggage you have. I'm probably going to Yuuta first, then 282 and then back to Yuuta ^o^ (I like Yagyuu/Niou also so it's rather nice that they're sharing a location.)

The minor character event is small, just 50 spaces so depending on what time and where the concert was you could probably do both. I think the event starts at 11? I know I plan to get there early to queue up so I can get in at 11 when it starts. (There is also a Seed event that day and I ADORE Seed!!!! (I plan to try for both) Plus at least two Seed circles I like are going to be there. ^o^)

At the very least we should be able to meet at Comic City 106. ^o^ I adore PoT but I admit I am prob going to also spend time in the Seed/Destiny area and FMA might seduce me away as well.

I'm not 100% sure where the Rokkaku event is. It's a part of Tokyo I've never been. You should so try to go though! If I could read Japanese Iw ould help more *laughs*

Glad you liked the card!

Yay, directions would be very much appreciated, because I tend to get lost everywhere I go.

I really need to find out when we are supposed to come back to Tokyo from Nagano, because I really want to go to the Yuuta and 282 events. ;__; But at least I will definitely be able to go to Comic City 106. ^__^

This is going to be a stupid question, but is any knowledge of the previous Gundam series needed to watch SEED? I know a ton of people who are into it, so I would like to at least try to start it.

Gundam Seed was actually my very first Gundam series. *laughs. Since watching it, Kim has gotten me to watch nearly half of Wing. Wing can be amusing, but it's just not as fun as Seed.

Seed is in a Gundam AU so it's not connected to any of the other Gundam-verses except Destiny/Astray. Destiny is the sequel to Gundam Seed which starts on Saturday in Japan!!!!!! (I think Astray is manga/some promos only.) If you'd like, I'm happy to pimp Seed to you. You do need to know Seed to watch Destiny I think, because it has some of the same characters in it and it accquaints you with coordinators v. naturals. Seed is just the most wonderfully amusing series at times and almost all the episodes post 29 are just so amazing it's hard to stop watching.
