Before I respond to individual comments....

Originally, I had planned to wait until next Thursday to make my announcement, as I would have had my 2nd doctor's appointment and my Nuchal Translucency would be past. Because of my age and this being my first time, I've been a little nervous about miscarriage and birth defects. However, in the end my mischievous nature could just not resist posting on 4/1 to see who thought I was pranking and who thought I was telling the truth.

If you've been pregnant before, please no horror stories. I do not want to hear about: morning sickness that did not go away or came back, any aches and pains, how labor sucked and was painful, anything about ripping or episiotomies, or well just anything negative. It's very exciting for me and my husband right now and playing freak out the newly pregnant person is mean. No one who read my LJ is genetically related to me except one person, and said person has never been pregnant. You can tell me wonderful stories about short labor, morning sickness ending at week 12 and feeling energetic during pregnancy, even if they are made up :P

Morning sickness sucks. Or sucks for me. Many people do not have it as badly as I do. I puke at least once a day now, (down from week 9 where it was 7-10x) and I actually feel worse in the evening. Flying with the start of morning sickness was a miserable experience.

My due date is 10/19/10 (Yagyuu Hiroshi's birthday for those curious) and I am currently about 1/2 way done with week 12. At week 9 I had my last appointment and got to see my baby on the ultrasound and its beating heart. Week 14 is the start of trimester 2 and hopefully all morning sickness is over by then.

No, I've no idea what gender my baby is yet. They can't tell until week 20 or so.

The Chicco is not as compatible with other brands ~.~ It's one of its flaws and I won't get Maclaren now after the baby finger incident. I'm trying to figure out when I would use a stroller a lot since I don't really go to a lot of malls and such and at groceries you can't do a stroller and a cart.

How big was your baby? I think my husband and I were both pretty tiny. I want to say we were both under 7 pounds and I stayed relatively small until post-college.

The important thing is Noah is thriving now and sorry for bringing up a sore spot. Thank you also for alerting me to inverted/flat nipples! It's something I'd no idea about.

I just love how cute they look when they pic up tiny pieces of food and stick it in their mouths. That and I am thinking it might be cheaper than toddler foods >>;;

I don't know what I want for sleeping, but it's good to hear a real opinion on co-sleepers. What brand is your co-sleeper? I don't like the bassinets, they all look so girly and what if I'm having a boy?

Noah seems so big! According to my mom I was like not even 17 pounds at 10 months. lol If my baby is anything like me and my husband it will take a while before they get to 28 pounds. I've been looking at the Becco! I love some of the prints and it looks so comfy. I heard the Becco is a bit better than the Ergo for shorter people and we're both on the short side. When did you start using yours?

Yeah I was planning on looking at Craig's List and the consignment shops near me. My area has a lot of wealthy people so I figure they might have nice baby things >>;;

When are you going to start to toilet train him?

The party at work sounds fun! :D I won't have one of those since I am unemployed >>;; I want a karaoke shower!

Ohhhh I did not even know about those!

Yeah, I didn't like the Maclarens regardless of the dangers. Too similar to $20 umbrella strollers, don't seem too sturdy and teeny tiny baskets. The one I got is just as good as the full size Graco I had, it just folds up much smaller and is much lighter than the big one. I have at least twice as much room in my trunk than I did before. But if you really don't think you will need a stroller I suggest getting the carrier first and deciding afterwards. But I also think you should wait for baby to arrive before getting the carrier if you can find a place that has samples to "test drive". If you don't have a place like that (usually an upscale baby boutique) then I suggest ordering it anyways because chances are for one reason or another you will need the carrier ASAP. Either to take baby on a walk, comfort a fussy baby or to get chores done.

Sometimes I like the stroller better when I am going to be out a while since it's cumbersome carrying Noah and the diaper bag (or any purse, but the Ergo has a pocket for keys/phone/wallet). If I am not buying a lot of stuff I use the stroller basket for the groceries. But yeah it's incredibly hard to shop with a stroller.

Noah was 8lbs. 12oz. and 21" long when he was born. He wasn't huge but he was big...NOW he is huge lol. I think my husband and I were both average sized babies but he is pretty tall now (and not just for a Japanese guy, he's 6'). So I don't know what happened and why Noah is so huge lol. He isn't even THAT chubby. I mean he has chunky bits but his tummy isn't that fat and he doesn't have rolls and rolls.

It's not a really sore spot so if you want to talk more about BFing it won't make me feel bad. I just feel a bit jealous when people say "My superpower is making milk!" and pissed off when people act all high and mighty about it. Yes, breast milk is best for baby but it's not HARMING the baby to feed him/her formula. And no problem about the nipple issue, hopefully your LC will be better than mine and actually be helpful. I only realized mine were off when I saw products meant to mimic "mom's breast" and realized that they didn't look like mine at all ^^;;. Then I looked it up on the internet. This was long after Noah went to formula too. But I don't regret going to formula at all, so don't feel bad talking about BFing.

All of Noah's snacks are finger foods. He loves "Baby Mum Mums" and basically any kind of finger food that Gerber has. However he will not eat the pasta pick ups ravioli. It is definately easier to have him feed himself, but when I give him bits of table food I feel like it doesn't fill him up enough or something. It could be that Noah is a bit of a beast though lol. It really is cute watching him pick up his food and feed himself :3.

I had an Arm's Reach mini co-sleeper. It was black and beige so it is pretty unisex. Since it is convertible I kept the side up and used it as a bassinet, since I couldn't attach it to my bed properly >.<. I still loved it though.. Just make sure you measure your bed before buying it. They have risers if your bed is too tall, but if it's too short like mine you are out of luck. Unless you want it to be a bassinet, then it doesn't matter.

Yeah Noah is really a giant baby lol. He is not the normal size for a 10 month old, more like a 2 year old ^^;;;. I've never tried the Becco so I can't make an opinion of it but I've heard people like them. I got the Ergo though because Noah is so huge I wanted it to last a while, so it's ok if it is a bit long. I got it maybe when he was 7 or 8 months old I think.

I think the usual age to start potty training is 2, but we will see with Noah...maybe I can convince him to earlier since he really really hates getting his diaper changed lol.

Yeah it was pretty nice, but I would have preferred a shower lol. A karaoke shower sounds like fun :D.

Yeah if you think a regular ultrasound is touching imagine the 3D one where you can actually see what baby looks like. They recommend to do it after 25 weeks so you can see something that looks more baby like before there isn't much room to see.

Well, I can tell you now, my super power is puking. ~.~ I'm great at puking and can even time myself to puke nearly every night at about 11:00. If that is not a super power I don't know what is.

I'd really like to get a chance to push a few around, but I think despite my mother's excitement she is freaked out with the idea of going to a baby store. She also use to tell me someday I would grow up and hate toy stores, this never happened lol Graco tends to get good reviews, I really want something that folds up small. I have an old not that big car right now and if we somehow ever need a 2nd car it will also be small. Also presumably I'd need something I can easily bring to visit baby's grandparents in UT. I do want to test some carriers. I think I definitely want to start with one of those. The prob is I want some idea of what I want because I am having a shower and have relatives that might be willing to spend money on a stroller for me XD;;;;

I don't mean to suggest Noah is fat, just that he is BIG. I've noticed in Japan you always see these tiny Japanese women with these HUGE babies and you wonder how they came out of such a small person lol How tall are you again? My husband and I are both tiny, or well I am plump but not all that tall and my husband is tiny.

It's good you brought things up though since I just had no idea and am now doing some reading up just to be safe. Your LC consultant doesn't sound like they were helpful which bugs me because it's not fair to you. I mean it is obvious Noah is thriving and doing well, but I think it sucks that because you had a meh LC you both had 6 weeks of stress you did not need.

I love pasta so I am hoping my baby will love pasta lol I just like to imagine them eating little pieces of pancake just like I would want to eat lol Well and peas. lol I love peas. :D

Our bed is pretty high, I can tell even without measuring just from getting into and out of it XD; My biggest concerns are the cats. They wouldn't do it out of maliciousness, but as a sign of affection, they like to sleep on my husband's head which they can not do with a baby.

You should totally see if you can get him trained earlier. Maybe you could get him trained during the day to at least use a potty so he only needs to wear overnights.

My mom and one of my good friends have volunteered to give me one. I always promised myself if I had a baby I would have a karaoke shower so I could sing my heart out lol I don't know if any of my cousins are having showers. (3 are pregnant right now! and one is due only a week or so before me.)

I feel like the baby already looks more like a baby. My husband has been sending little emails with info about the fetus as it develops in me. Thursday is my next appointment and I am starting to feel excited. :)

I dunno if that's a super power, but it sure does suck. Hopefully as you get into the 2nd trimester it'll go away or at least tone down a bit.

Yeah it's good to test then out in the stores, that's what I did with the stroller I just got. I researched online then went to the store to compare. For the type of stroller mine is it folds down really small, it folds in like an umbrella stroller while the big one I had before folded down flat. It's kind of hard to describe so I hope that makes sense. Basically my new one while riding like the big one folds down to about half the size of the old one. I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla if that helps you at all.

Noah wasn't a fussy newborn but I've heard that carriers have been magic for fussy newborns so I agree that it's good to start with one of those. And chances are your newborn won't be so heavy that it will inconvenience you to carry him/her around everywhere. But I do think it's good to at least have a stroller, especially since as you said you have people willing to pay for one xD.

I know you didn't mean he is fat, I was just sayin' :). Maybe the Japanese babies are like Noah and came out biggish but still not gigantic and just grow super fast. I am 5'3".

No my LC wasn't very helpful at all which pisses me off because maybe I would have had less of a terrible time with it and stuck with it long enough for the issues to resolve themselves. I probably should have attended an LLL meeting, but I didn't know how incompetent the LC was so it was too late.

I love pasta too :3. Noah likes the little bits but for some reason when I make him little noodles he spits it out...

Ah, yeah...I dunno what to do about that, our dog likes to cuddle but nowhere near our faces.

Yeah I am going to try once he seems like he will be able to understand it. Getting him to use the potty during the day would be nice.

Ah yeah I also used to get those babycenter emails, they are nice :). I always used to look forward to appointments hehe :3.

Hubby thinks that a co-sleeper is not going to work since it will be too tempting to the cats and we will need to either use a crib from the start or find a more stand alone bassinet. Cookie, the cat who prefers to sleep on faces, is getting old and so is only so good at jumping and if something is high enough she is not going to jump onto it. The bed is about her limit.

Rice is helping some with the nausea, and I am sure once Passover ends tonight things will be better.

The stroller info is helpful, I will have to think more and try things out. I do have a lot of people who can get me things. I figure if I get my cousin something she will get me something lol

I'm 5'3" but my hubby is pretty short and only 5'7" His family is made of lots of small tiny people lol

It just seems so sucky that your LC caused so many problems. I mean it is obvious Noah is healthy now, but it's still annoying.

Weird, I'm probably just going to do noodles from the start so they won't get to try the toddler meals >>;;
