A while back, [livejournal.com profile] bittenbefore was sharing things she was in love with, so I think I am going to try and make every month a little brighter by listing 5 things I am in love with which are not strictly computer related lol

1. Arugula XD; (for those who don't know I adore bitter greens like arugula, I even like eating it straight.)

2. Sugar Scrubs (so nice on my skin <3 and the ones I own have the most lovely scents)

3. Cynthia Steffee skirts (I currently own 4, and I just love the way they fit. I so need to go hunting on ebay for more.)

4. Pop Sociology books (Most people read pop psychology books, but I have always been a pop sociology person. I love books like The Second Shift, Nickel and Dimed and Falling From Grace If anyone has recommendations on a Sociology book with lots of case studies but little in the way of jargon, please recommend.

5. Meeting a friend for lunch (this one is sort of obvious lol)

I've also been thinking about a post [livejournal.com profile] reynardine made about disturbing songs in 1776. In all honesty, the most disturbing song I can easily think of is the following song I adore from the musical Assassins
How I Saved Roosevelt

It's a lovely play on a John Phillips Sousa tune, and on a first listen it doesn't seem so disturbing until you stop to really think about the song. Overall, I really like Assassins and am still kicking myself for missing it the second time it was on Broadway. ~.~

One a side note, is it just me or is a British cast recording of 1776 somewhat.. disconcerting.

In other news, while it is early yet, I'm soon going to be posting one of those wishlists for the holidays again, as my birthday is at the beginning of December, so if anyone is looking for an idea, it will be available. ^^

Ouran is HUGELY popular. (It's very recent, it just started in Spring and ended in Sept.) I've only seen a handful of episodes. People compare it to FruBa and Utena, and I can sort of see both.

Accidentally in Love is actually from Shrek 2. lol

Quest for Camelot is quite old, if you want I can burn you a copy of it as an AVI onto CD. The insert songs in it are mostly cheezy, but I like the characters. I have a huge thing for earnest and hard working characters. ^_^

BTW, it's Into the Woods. XD; Can you play R1 DVDs or just 2?

Ohhhh yeah, when it first came out I think half my f-list was going nuts about it. XD It does look awfully cute...

Hey! I knew there was a reason I wanted to watch Shrek 2 again! *lol*

Thanks for offering, but my compy doesn't like AVI format (I think because it's a Mac?) *HUGS anyway*...I'll probably be able to rent it on good ol' VHS as I have a high tolerance for cheeziness & the characters look interesting. ^__^

Right, right, not Out Of but Into!! XD Fortunately my DVD player likes any format as it's multi-region. It gets cookies where the computer does not. *lol*

I own a Mac and it plays AVIs o_O What program are you using to view things, you should try VLC. It's WAAAAY better than quicktime and will have no prob with most AVIs.

It's incredibly cheezy and I love it! lol

Okies this is good to know about DVDs XD;;;;;

I hate quicktime and I never had good luck with real media player. ~.~

VLC/Video Lan site (http://www.videolan.org/)

My hubby is a techie, and got me using VLC. I gave it to a few other people like [livejournal.com profile] kosquarepelli lol It runs well on the Mac and plays most AVIs. There are a few it doesn't play, but not so many and not older ones.

I'm pretty sure it was designed for the Mac which helps a lot. ^_^

PLMK if it helps.
