Thanks for the kind wishes. It actually took a bit for me to feel like eating anything and even now, I'm still mostly eating toast and soup.

I'm a huge juice person and I only drink the 100% juice type so I always feel like that helps.

Don't forget to get a good balance of electrolytes (sugar and salt water, or gatorade)... *hugs* Hope you're feeling better soon!

*hugs* Thanks, it was a dreadful flu. I always feel like instant soup gives me my salt and watered down juice gives me my sugars and water.

It was a little frustrating and worrying, but I'm so glad to finally be feeling better.

Thanks ever so much for the kind wishes and I am truly so happy you like Mercedes and her paint was how you'd like it. I admit I became a little anxious after all the people who have been disappointed with their FCS.

*hugs back*

Mercedes is honestly perfect. Every single thing about her is just what I wanted (even the wig xD).
I think it was mostly the LA FCS that was disappointing. There are a few things that I mentioned that are...lacking...in my new boys. For instance my F09 has very thin eyebrows. I wanted them slanted in a bit, and natural...otherwise nothing unusual. I think it was partly that FCS is new in the US and the person that was doing mine was kinda vague. But I don't mind the problems that much.

Well, I just would feel bad if you weren't happy cause FCS is really such a personal thing. I admit, I find giving pictures or picking a doll you want things like ups the chances of success. I alwayd try to find pictures of face-ups I like because while they won't be exact duplicates, they give good ideas and give a good sense of how thick or thing you want various lines.

I have a few friends who are not completely happy with their LA FCS and it makes me sad.

I think LA FCS experiences really varied by who was the consultant. To me, doing FCS at Sato just won't be the same without Taemi's kind help. ^^;;

I was dumb and didn't bring pictures with me to LA, for some strange reason >>; But it wasn't that big of a deal.

Yeah...it sucks to be unhappy with something you wait so long for and spend so much time/money getting.

I had the same person doing mine as somebody who was very unhappy with their doll, and I am not surprised that they were unhappy. Honestly, I could tell that it wasn't going to turn out perfectly when I was doing it. I was sitting next to somebody getting it done by Mikey and while mine had vague and bad english on it, hers had tons of Japanese and pages from the SD Bible and all sorts of little details that were missing from mine.

I wonder if you were sitting next to [livejournal.com profile] krambear I think she really knew exactly what she wanted and her doll came out wonderful.

If Ken is who I think he was he started doing my first FCS with me at Sato in October but we had language issues and were attacked by the TV crew and then Taemi came in. I feel so sad, Taemi did my FCS with me both times after the men who started it weren't able to continue and her English is so good. ;;_;;

I sort of feel bad for people who might be doing FCS there now.

I'm not surprised people are unhappy but that doesn't make it any better and you just feel bad when someone has been waiting so long. You guys ordered your FCS a month before I went to Japan and placed the Sato one, even though they both arrived about the same time.

Oh well.

I don't know if it was [livejournal.com profile] krambear or not, but I'm sure all the people who got theirs through Mikey got better than who got it through who did mine. The guy who did mine was also sweating like mad, I thought he was going to pass out...>>; I guess that I am just lucky that I got things like lip lines, some peoples' were missing those.
You know that Copper 104 wig I got with my MSD? It was supposed to be Wine colored. Not that it would have fit anyhow, but I ordered Wine >>;

Yeah...I think that as long as you a) don't have high expectations or b) want to paint/repaint your LA FCS it's nothing to worry about...but, if you a neither a nor b, then it sucks :/
Yeah. It must suck to eagerly await something, and then open it up after waiting 2-3 months and find out that it's nothing like you expected even though you specified all the things you wanted.
Also, it seemed strange to me that the wait was so long. I was surprised that the Sato FCS was to come at the same time, because I assumed it was the same time span as the LA FCS. And now the wait is supposedly 3 months.

I just hope that the US store can keep up business until March >>; I wanted to go down there and buy some outfits as well as Kohya (assuming he's still in stock).

Yeah it sounds like how well your FCS went depended on your expectations and who wrote up your order. It sort of makes me wonder about the orders various shopping services are taking for the LA store now. ^^;;;

and wow, that sucks that it was supposed to be wine o_O;; though yes it wouldn't fit well still. My friend [livejournal.com profile] ginarolo said she got the wrong wig also.

In all honesty, sometimes the lip lines are very very subtle. At first one wouldn't think my older Yuuta had lip lines but if you look very carefully he does. But it's subtle.

I think the wait for Sato is shorter because they prob need enough orders to make shipping between Japan and the US worthwhile. They can't easily afford to ship a single doll at a time from Japan to the US, while the Sato dolls are just shipped within Japan. Sato generally takes 1 month, even if you request sanding.

Wow, Koyha. I sort of want more outfits but I'm not sure what I am going to do about that. It's hard because I hate paying the mark-up lol

*nod* I think so. I just have this 'ability' to be fairly happy with a faceup, unless the workmanship is bad. I can see how you are worried about the people ordering through shopping services...if it's hard enough to get your order across doing it yourself...it must be harder having somebody else to do it.

Yeah. I guess it's good that the wig doesn't fit then lol. It would have been more disappointing if I actually wanted him to wear it. That sucks that [livejournal.com profile] ginarolo got the wrong wig too. What if that was going to be the Last Wig the doll ever wears...that color/style is THE ONE. But it was FCS only? I wonder if Volks would replace it.

Yeah, my FCS boys have very subtle lip lines too. But some people were pointing that out as something disappointing, so I assumed that they looked hard and didn't find them. But who knows, maybe they don't have great vision or something :/

Yeah, that makes sense for the shipping time.

Yeah, Kohya♥. Although I think the markup on him is less of a biggie, since he's limited anyhow. I hope they still have him when I go down there~. I don't care about markups on clothes and stuff because I am already 'tickled pink' that I can walk into a store and buy stuff for my dolls xD;.
Although I DO mind CA State Tax on expensive items. Already being a CA Resident it's not the having to pay the tax that I hate, it's having to pay $100 tax ><*

Probably a little late, but feeling any better? Damn, 102! At least it means your body is trying to fight the infection? I think? Tell Rurouni Kennis that I said he'd better pamper the hell out of you till you're feeling tip-top again.

*hugs* Are you back in PA now?

Actually, you're not late cause it took most of the week for me to kick that flu, and I wasn't really feeling like myself until yesterday.

Rurouni Kennis was not as helpful as he could have been some nights, but was really wonderful others. Ah well, no one is perfect. lol

Anyway, please let me know when you're back in Boston, I have something really tiny to send to you. ^^;
