Why look, a post!
Dec. 27th, 2004 09:37 pmWow, I should win some sort of award for being among the least likely to update my LJ of people who have LJs. For those curious, it's not that I have another LJ or blog hidden elsewhere where I am posting (well unless you count all the RP stuff, but really...) I'm just lazy. ^^;;
First, I'd like to thank all the people who wished me a Happy Birthday so very long ago and sent me either an actual gift in the mail, drew something for me, or sent me a birthday/holiday card. I'm not going to list people, those of you who were so very thoughtful know who you are and I truly appreciate it, even if I am excessively slow in responding. ^^;;;
Let's see in the time I haven't been posting, I've gotten a visit from
sumeragiskank and
muscatlove I had lots of fun with both, but Jenn and I did the particularly enjoyable thing of..well...karaoke!
So yes, the selection of Japanese songs wasn't quite as good as I've grown accustommed to in Tokyo, but they did have anime songs!! The other nice treat of course was the much larger selection of English songs, including tons from musicals and TV shows. So not only did I karaoke some of Chess, but I also got to Karaoke the 'Love Boat' theme. Jenn and I had been feeling down about the lack of Japanese songs we wanted to do we could find (though we did sing Sexy Sexy and Vanilla) when Jenn noticed another book of just Japanese songs that contained recent additions. In that book, we found "Re-Write", "Ready Steady Go", "Reason" and "Undo". And let me just say, unless I practice more, I should not be allowed to sing Reason. lol Oddly enough, despite their being English songs, the Japanese list had "Get Another Boyfriend" and "How Did I Fall In Love With You" and the English list DID NOT o_0 But yeah, place in New York City with karaoke.. *so happy*
Yes, believe it or not, I don't *JUST* spend time doing anime things still. I ended up working rather hard to make some poundcakes for the homeless for Christmas. They also got brownies, sans nuts as I felt too lazy to chop the nuts. Since I was in a poundcake mood, I then made two more for us, a lemon and a vanilla one, which was turned into a strawberry shortcake. I learned a very important less, when making strawberry shortcake, cut your poundcake in more than one layer as otherwise it is too thick and a pain to slice. I really ought to spend more time baking from scratch as it is something that truly gives me pleasure.
Oh! Ammie my copic colors. Sorry, I was slow about adding this. The Ciao are cheaper than the regular line and I have duplicates of colors I use more often. I bought duplicates because supposedly one can change points on the regulars and I want to try to move to "extra fine" nibs as I have a tendency to draw too small.

Date: 2004-12-29 02:25 am (UTC)(BTW, I usually draw really tiny as well, which used to get me into trouble at college because quite often my art tutors thought my projects were thumbnails^^;;; Nyaah to them. Manga & comicbook artists draw their pages really huge in order for them to be reduced in the printing stage, but I don't see why fanart should have to be similarly sized as we're not planning to have them published. Small pics RULE ^_~)
