Cupcakes Galore

Happy Belated Birthday to spazzygirl19 and twotone and anyone else I might have missed.

It's funny, growing up I always hated and dreaded Christmas but now with the internet it's just really not as big a deal. In fact, I'm even starting to like Christmas because it means huge sales I can take advantage of. Baby Gap is much more attractive at 40% off. If you're all wondering why the internet make such a big deal in terms of Christmas... well in the bad old days, there were limited channels on TV and so for Christmas all you could see were Christmas shows which if you don't celebrate Christmas aren't much fun. The radio stations use to only play Christmas music. But thanks to the internet and mp3s I can listen to whatever horrible music I want, all the time and with the internet I can watch whatever I want. It's truly lovely and helps make the day less boring. Though honestly with a baby it feels like I am constantly busy every day.

Lately, I've been indulging in Next Generation DVDs. It is great.

Adina gave her Mommy a late gift of A cupcake corder It's an awesome gift and has enabled her mother to make her dream cupcakes, chocolate with lemon curd filling and chocolate frosting. Yummy! I guess if we were having company I could try to get fancy with decorations but they're just for our enjoyment. Pictures may follow. I've been using Martha Stewart's Cupcakes, another gift I received. So far the cupcakes might be a little greasy in terms of the pan, but taste moist and delicious and the frosting is very yummy and not too buttery. I love Rose Levy Beranbaums cakes, and one of her recent ganaches inspired me, but her buttercreams seriously taste like super sweet butter. Mommy also got a scale, in an attempt to stem the tide of weight gain. This does not go well with cupcakes in the house.

I am so not looking forward to tomorrow's snow Particularly since we are out of garbage bags so I really sort of need to go out to buy them in the morning. Meh, I so hope we don't get more than 6 inches. Though I've already been making jokes about pictures of Adina in her first snow.

"Make it so" or "Engage" lol I can't believe we've watched all of Seasons 4-6 since Channukah.

I love her smile but it can be hard to get in pictures since I'm not always fast enough. Hopefully as she gets older she smiles more.

There is getting snow and GETTING SNOW. We got about a foot+ and it really shut everything down on Sunday. It's a bit much.

I am very biased about Adina's cuteness, but she is much cuter than I had expected lol

I'm still writing all my thank yous so I understand. I'm just glad to know it made it to you! :D And sorry for the belated wishes, computer time is a luxury and I tend to spend it mostly reading LJ and Facebook now.

Next Generation as in ST:TNG? *g* I just found out this year that there was an official Picard Muppet on Sesame Street - definitely the highlight of the entire year.

I hear ya about nothing but Christmas specials on TV/radio. Remember those days well. Much of Xmas music is appallingly twee, and being summer-time over here in NZ (also: often spent childhood Xmases roasting in the heat of Australia ^_^;;;) all those Xmas movies about winter-time seemed unfair/pointless/boring to a kid in the South Pacific (i.e. yes I would love to be sledding and making snow angels 'COS IT'S FREAKING BOILING HOT ;_;).
Thank goodness for the internet and MP3s. :D *rocks out to 80's pop songs*

Yes, as in ST:NG. I sort of adore Worf. He makes the best expressions which are usually "Oh God, why me!" I'm also very fond of Data and Ryker. We've seen the 4 Next Gen movies but I'd only see a smattering of episodes before. Now we've seen all of S4-S6 and just finished Gambit from S7. I totally ship Q/Picard ♥

Wow, I'd never thought about the whole Southern Hemisphere issue before. lol It makes me really want to come visit you now since it is snowy and cold here and I want to escape somewhere warm where I can go in a pool. But yeah, am not so into the Christmas specials, except when they are so cracked out you just have to go:....

I ♥ Data and Worf and Wesley. *g* Worf in the mud bath with Deanna and co. cracked me up so much...he definitely has the best expressions. Oh, and Worf having to deliver Keiko's baby was genius - ROFLMAO! Q/Picard is totally canon. ;D

It's really hot in NZ at the moment. Which I don't really mind so much, except that I don't have enough appetite for extra helpings of puddings and cakes. XD

I sort of like everyone now. I even like both Crushers and Deanna now. I loved Worf in the mudbath and Worf needing to babysit Spot! XD;;; My problem with Keiko's baby was how inaccurate it is. :/ Now that I've given birth and know a lot more about a giving birth I am like:..... when I see that part. Oh Worf, how I love to see the expressions of unhappiness on your face.

The no appetite is sad, but hot is nice sometimes. We had a foot of snow but it is finally melting.

Mmm, the cupcake corer looks like fun. I'm just imagining all the wonderfully sickening things you could do with one of those. ^_^

I so adore my corer. The only negative is that and my cookbook are not so good for the Rachel needs to lose some weight goal lol But chocolate and lemon is my main goal (and chocolate and lime) You don't see that combination as often as you should, it's usually chocolate and orange which I am not as fond of.

She's a mostly happy and good baby and even better currently a sleeping baby!
