muscatlove owed me and since I thought it was just a check I didn't even open the envelope until today cause I haven't had time to make it to the bank and and and and... WAIIIIII You are too nice!!!! So CUTE!!!! If you were wondering why I didn't mention it before, it's because I'm an idiot!!!!! (And it's so being added to my not so secret and soon to be shared project!)
In other news... I went to visitkosquarepelli over the week end where she finally got me to sit down and watch Utena. We watched 26 episodes Sunday evening and for part of Monday morning. In the intervening days I finished the series (and of course watched the parody and new episode of FMA *is so amazingly disappointed in Al, hopes Wrath dies, and agrees about the series being eaten by plotholes*.)and Utena is just.. well... It's what XTV aspired to be.
I feel bad for Akio. Yeap, I really do. In the end, there was a revolution and he missed it, he's still trapped in his coffin. Utena, possibly because she was a girl, was soft-hearted and noble enough to get an actual revolution and truly became a prince. She freed Anthy, allowing Anthy to leave and to no longer be the Rose Bride. But Utena didn't just free Anthy, she also in some respects gave all the other characters (minus Akio) what they wanted. To me, Mikki now has his shinning thing, and I think he's found it in himself. (I also think Kozue is so going to seduce him if she hasn't already XD) Touga and Saionji are now "true" friends, Jury has gotten her miracle, and Nanami has just grown a lot as a person. The ending so worked on so many levels.
I think among my favorite parts was the revelation that all girls could only be princesses or witches. It's so true in fairytales. And the best lines...Anthy talking about Borgia, cause we all know Akio and Anthy support the incest. XD Now for the movie!
Even before I got to the end, there was something about Utena that reminded me of Kamui. Probably the devotion to her friends and the fact that she has somehow gotten involved in something bigger than herself without really meaning to. Though of course it makes sense in Utena, she is a prince defending the honor of her friend...so Rachel's wrong fusion which will probably offend everyone I know ^o^

Anyway, I've also been re-making some of my lj icons cause now I know a lot more about image editing thanks tosumeragiskank Hopefully, they all look better now. ^^;;;
