For those curious, things have definitely improved on the insomnia and breathing front. Not long after I called the midwives and found out I could take Benadryl, my nose started clearing some on its own (and now the congestion is mostly gone) and the 25 mg tablet of Benadryl pretty much completely knocked me out as well as clearing up any remaining congestion when I was trying to sleep. Last night we cut the 25 mg tablet in half since I felt a little groggy yesterday morning, and the half half dosage seems just about the right amount. I got plenty of sleep, my sinuses feel good and I am breathing a lot easier in more than one way. I'm also still trying to exercise more. I am doing 20-30 minutes of pre-natal yoga every day and going for at least 2 walks around my complex. It feels great to be more active and I am sure that is also helping me to feel better.

The baby is still being active and enjoys moving around in me. I have my next appointment on Tuesday, though I am thinking of also finding a general practitioner to just make sure everything is OK.

I sort of wonder if the problems didn't develop because on Thursday morning I managed to puke bits of semi-liquified walnuts up my nose at the synagogue. It was Friday night when I had my first bad bout of insomnia and breathing issues.

Though it could also just be a cold since my husband also has a bit of a cold right now.

The walnut thing sounds pretty disturbing. *ick* Glad you're doing better! I'd heard pregnancy could result in some breathing problems, but I guess it's hard to tell if there are other factors involved. Hope you and Kennis both feel better soon!

It was incredibly disturbing when it happened. I get puke up my nose more often than I would like right now, but for some reason the walnuts were particularly bad, I think it was my position in relation to the toilet. >>;

It's really hard with pregnancy because some of the symptoms are just so enigmatic and easily confused with other conditions. Though I talked to a nurse yesterday to get some advice on finding a pediatrician and she said that if I was having serious problems with my lungs I would have problems just talking to her on the phone, which I don't/didn't.

Until I got pregnant, I never had motion sickness, it was the one thing about me that could qualify for the space program lol (since I think I'm too short and plump otherwise.) I went on all those make you puke rides at amusement parks with no adverse effects at all. My new motion sickness has improved since trimester 1, but last trip to Japan train trips longer than 1 hour made me nauseous.

You know it's funny, after puking so much, I'm sort of immune to how disgusting it can be, I am just more concerned for other people and their sensitivities. At this point I could write a whole treatise on puking and preferred positions/food items. lol I tried taken the pill pre-natal vitamin instead of the liquid yesterday and ended up puking up 1/2 my lunch, an apple, some carrots I had snacked on, and possibly the chocolate raisins. It did leave me feeling more congested than I had been earlier in the day so I think now the puking does play a role.

So am I! I was getting a little nervous because I want to be sure to get enough sleep now before the baby comes and I can't sleep more than 2 hours at stretch.

Glad to hear you are doing better and that the baby seems to be doing very good! ^_^

I had a bit of an absense from the wonderful world of the internet and, not to sound creepy or stalkerish since we aren't that close or anything, I actually did end up wondering about how you two were doing a couple of times.
At least one of the times I blame on the shrine close to my new place being one dedicated to "safe delivery of a baby". ^_~

I'm not really sure what you mean since I tend to post on average once a week and nearly every single post I mention the pregnancy since it looms largest in my life. ^^;; I do understand internet absences, as I tend to have them whenever I travel somewhere.

Yeah, I have a a bunch of safe delivery charms. [livejournal.com profile] dilettantka even had my named written in a particularly popular shrine on an auspicious day ♥ Hopefully it works :D
