We're leaving for the wedding in less than a week and I feel like I have so much I still need to do! (Mostly trying to see if I can get my shoes fixed and what exactly is wrong with husband's suit, oh and we are hosting the Synagogue kiddush on Sat morning!) On the bright side, my midwife gave me the A-OK to travel to it and has given me copies of all my medical records just in case. I was so relieved, I'd had 1 high blood pressure reading at the appointment before last, 140 over 80 and it made me anxious I could have pre-eclampsia. But at the last appointment I was back down to the healthy and normal for me 110 over 70. So yeah, all seems right with Ryuchan. I'm getting in my kicks and as of last appointment her head is now down like it ought to be. I've finished 32 weeks and so have nearly finished 7 1/2 months (meaning I am in month 8!) It's all sort of amazing.

I've been ranty on my new parenting board because I am against red shirting as well as leaving back kids born in September-December in general. I know I personally loved being younger than most of my class mates. I am feeling thankful I live in CT since I'm pretty sure our cut-off is 12/31 so Ryuchan will have no problem being in elementary with the correct grade.

For the first time in many many many years I own a pair of jeans I love. Oh H&M maternity, how I love thee. They're comfy and stretchy and CUTE! I need to get a picture of me in them when my hair looks good. i.e. not today. Did I mention I got my hair professionally cut at an expensive salon specializing in curly hair? My hair tends to look great the first day now, but not as good on subsequent days once I start tying it back. Oh well.

So for those curious, I got the dresses I ordered from the UK in smaller sizes. The floral print dress I loved is a complete disaster and is completely unflattering. It makes my boobs look huge and super saggy at the same time. I also hate the V-neck as it is way too deep and you can see my bra. So they're all being returned, hopefully today. The other dress I ordered has a lot of potential... but is also slinkier which means... POLL TIME!

with the belt I need to figure out how to wear....

I think it looks awesome without the belt!

So do you think I should go for it and wear it for the Wedding?

Our weekend plans are not concrete yet, so we're not sure if we'll make it to the Coventry Farmer's Market. Daniel's parents want to get together sometime this weekend, and they will hopefully get back to us with details tomorrow.

I hope you have a great time at the market! Let me know how the heirloom tomatoes are!

EDIT: Daniel's parents called, and apparently we're seeing them for lunch on Sunday.

Ah well, it would have been nice to see you. We're not going on the 5th as we will be in transit from CA.

I hope you guys have a nice lunch! :D BTW I love how the sweater is coming along, I think it will be a nice gift.

Rachel, I had to break it to you, but the dark dress isn't even remotely skanky and it's entirely work appropriate. It definitely fits you a lot better than the other dress and the dark colouring looks good with you and is slimming.

I'm just not wearing anything tight like that and so I worry it looks a little skanky. You can really see my belly with it very clearly.

But it's also very comfy which I think is one of my main goals in clothes right now, though I admit I want something semi-fashionable since I am the sister of the groom.

The dress itself is fine, but the belt doesn't look good on it. But the dress looks good, the dark on dark is very classy.

I'm wondering if it is me, and I just don't know the beat way to wear it. I'm thinking of seeing it my Mom has any advice. It came with the dress, but I don't need to wear it.

I'm soooooo glad I ordered it as otherwise I am not sure what I would be doing now for a dress.

I hate clingy clothes, so I'd never be able to wear it, but it looks good, so if you're comfortable with it, you should go ahead. (Personally, I like the belt, but it looks like it would need to be pinned to stay in place.)

I normally hate clingy clothes as well, they make me feel fat, but it's so comfy and a part of me enjoys showing off my new huge belly. It's sort of a weird thing.

I feel like I have no idea whatsoever what is "appropriate" for these things so I didn't comment on that ._. To me it just looks great on you!

I think something that looks good on is important! I am not sure either what is really appropriate, but I want something pretty and attractive. I'm just not to use to wearing clingy clothes and tend to wear things that are more oversized.

Kennis of course loves the dress XD

The dress looks good sans the belt. No matter what ... comfort is always my #1 thing with clothes. And unfortunately the weather has gotten very hot here ... so whatever you're comfortable in will be the best. If you're worried about it being a little too sexy, perhaps a light wrap to go over it? Perhaps in a pink to match the trim on the sleeves?

BTW ... I know you're totally busy getting ready to leave next week *and* you're hosting kiddush on Saturday! I'll email you my numbers & just get in touch with me when you get a chance.

It's had to know what will be comfy in the heat, since right now it is exceeding cool and crisp. It's been lovely. (except for my wanting to use the pool) The flash is making the dress look a little off, the sleeves are more a purple fushia, but I am not sure I want a wrap as it will be a little too warm.

I need to email you! I might just make a CA filtered LJ post. Things are so hectic here, I spent all day yesterday trying to get food together for the synagogue.

I was lucky, in NY at the time December babies were not held back so I got to be the youngest in my class and I loved it. I was always jealous of kids born later in December because they were younger than me. I never felt behind academically, and I think any social awkwardness would have been there regardless because I am a nerd. No holding me back would have changed this. As it was, I took advanced Math and Science and took Law a year ahead of time. I passed a bunch of APs. So many places hold kids born anytime in the Fall back now and I just think that is awful. I'm glad CT is one of the few states with a 1/1 deadline.

Things are insane here and I am going to either make a CA filtered post or send an email in the next few days. I spent all day yesterday working on stuff for the synagogue today and I even got lazy and decided against baking anything from scratch lol

Shame the floral one didn't work out, but I think this one looks great on you! (Better without the belt, though.) Very elegant, as befitting the sister of the groom, and I like the little touch of colour on the sleeves. You don't look as pregnant as I'd have expected for someone so far along, but then again, one of my friends barely showed at all until she was almost there, and suddenly expanded in the last couple of months or so.

Yay for finding comfy jeans! I hope you manage to get everything sorted before you have to leave for the wedding. *hugs*

I also now know what size I am in UK things! About a 12 whatever that means, or at least a 12 in maternity. The dress is the 10-12.

I'm actually almost there lol Full term is starting at week 37 and on Tuesday I hit week 33. :D Ryuchan can come anywhere from 37-40 as full term and then I think I get 2 more weeks before they worry about induction. (So technically she can share a birthday with you!) If she came now, she would be a preemie, but her chance of survival would be very very good and she would probably not need to spend so much time in NICU. It's funny, but each day makes a huge difference. Last week her lungs really started to develop and she should be around 3-4 pounds.

*hugs* I still have a lot to go, I forgot about the Synagogue thing until the last minute. Ooops!

I really like the dress! It looks so stretchy and comfy, and that material looks like the type that won't get crinkly if you sit down in it, which is very important at a wedding. You never know who's aiming cameras where! *laughs* I like it best without the belt so the pink accent's just on the sleeves. Nice choice!

It's very comfy! It's not quite as pink and floral as the dress I first wanted but that one looked bad on me ;;_;; And that is true it won't get crinkly when I am sitting! I just need to find shoes to wear with it now. >>; I was going to get my sandals fixed but ran out of time.

I'm so glad you like it and I hope to have pictures for everyone!
*hugs*
