Well this sucks...

Yesterday was something of a comedy of errors. For old times I headed into NYC with my Mom to see her pain doctor for probably my last time. For those curious, my Mom is a failed back surgery but a huge success now in terms of pain treatment. She went from in 2007 having a hard time just walking around the grocery store on her own, to being back to walking 2 miles on every day. And all because of the success of her pain injections and drugs this particular doctor switched her to. Going together to see a lot of her doctors has been a bonding experience for me and my Mom. Usually it also involves a nice lunch out lol The last time we went to see this doctor was in February 2010, the day before I left to go to Japan. And the very start of my pregnancy. Now I've nearly finished 7 months and Mom isn't sure she wants me coming in the future since I will have a baby. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned. Our 12:45 appointment, despite our coming early was not taken until 2! (And this was only because I eventually played the Pregnancy Card which got us attention) We then went to our usual lunch spot which was made of FAIL. First they had no a/c, then my main course was not available :( and then my second choice meal was waaaaaaay too spicy and made me sick. ;;_;; We missed the train we needed to take, so decided to go to a huge H&M to look at maternity... which they did not have ;;_;; Our next thought was to go back home, then to Starbucks and to Gap Maternity. I had just found a dress I liked and wanted to try on, when my husband called to say OUR CAR WAS NOT WORKING!!! So no trying on clothes or Starbucks for me, our car is now sitting waiting to be towed and outcome unclear. MEH!

In very very happy news, my 2nd of my 3 pregnant cousins just had her baby and she too just had a girl!!! So far 2 for 2, though I know my cousin due in October is a boy and I'm a girl.

Wow, talk about not your day. I did the tunnel today! It was a lot scarier than I thought it would be. XD But I touched the key!

Yeah, I touched it too, but the tunnel was among the scariest things I have ever done in my entire life.

But yeah oddly enough everything improved on Friday! Who says the 13th is bad luck! :D

Aw, sorry about all the crappy things that happened! I hope your car can be fixed and soon (and inexpensively).

We got it fixed on the 13th and the repair bill was only $500 including a few other small things we had worked on (like the clutch was oiled and we had it inspected) It's now safely back in the driveway!

BTW are you going to Coventry tomorrow?

It's funny the 12th was awful but the 13th was great!

It looks like we won't be going to Coventry this weekend. We're hoping to make it to the Old Fashioned Corn Roast the weekend after that, though.

Bleh, I'm sorry you had "One of Those Days." But if you didn't have them, I guess you might not appreciate how good the good days are then :)

Can I ask you if your mother has leg pain too? My mother did back surgery herself but she still has leg pain. I wonder if maybe she might need to find a different pain doctor.

It's funny, despite the 13th being unlucky, everything went well for me that day. The car bill was very under 1k and it got fixed, my Mom came up to see me and I got adorable clothes, and my new parasol a friend bought me arrived!

If you mean nerve pain shooting down the back of her leg (all the way to her foot often) then YES, she did. She had sciatica issues and it was the leg pain from her back that was keeping her from walking around. When was your Mom's surgery, does your Mom email, would she want to talk to my Mom about it? My Mom had her surgery in Summer 06 and by Summer 07 was AWFUL. Most of 08 was seeing lots of doctors to talk about a second surgery and I think Jan 09 was this pain doctor and things slowly really did improve. My mom use to be on so much oral medication and now is only on a patch and a rub in gel and the gel she often skips.

Seriously, if her insurance would allow it and she has the same issues, I would recommend coming into NYC to see the person my Mom sees. >>;;;

Oddly enough, 13 turned out to be lucky for me as usual and things were 100% better yesterday! :D

The car repair was done and for much less than I was worried about and I got even cuter maternity things at H&M

The car repair was very under 1k and only took a few hours so Kennis was able to drive it home last night. :D

Friday the 13th went swimmingly for me!

I am attempting to figure out my size in UK sizes now so I can order my dream dress for Michael's wedding. The UK makes such pretty things!!!!!!!
