Home hunting..
Apr. 17th, 2010 09:49 amSo our Closing is April 26th and we have until May 2nd to be out of our house. This would not be so bad, except 1) We did not know this until the 14th 2) We have still not packed and 3) We do not have a place to move to. Realtor.com is evil and continues to list things that have deposits on them so that one has no idea that they're not really available.
On Tuesday I went to see: Towne Brooke Commons I'm not going to even get into the disaster that was our real estate agent, (She gave us the addy 5 Nabby Road, Danbury, when the complex was on 5 Nabby Road, Brookfield. However, there was another complex actually located at 5 Nabby Road Danbury which was nothing like what I wanted and she did not seem to realize there were two complexes at 5 Nabby Road. As a real estate agent she NEEDS to know this! ) Problem #1, crappy spacing, the condo apartments have ginormous bedrooms and closets but tiny living/dinning room areas. I'd rather have a smaller bedroom and a bigger Living/Dinning room area. Problem #2 They want $1000 non-refundable pet deposit (Yes, you read that right $1000 non-refundable pet deposit) along with an additional $70 per month for the fact we own cats. We're also not allowed to get a 3rd cat and should one of our cats pass away our new cat must be older than 7 months o_O; Problem #3 $300 for "amenities" which consist of a small pool, a clubhouse that is only open Business Hours and a tiny fitness room.
Luckily, yesterday I found a new agent and I might have found a potential place to rent assuming someone else doesn't beat us to it. I oddly discovered that there are definite pluses to ranches and things built post World War II after seeing an "antique" home built in 1795. All I have to say is, dirt floor basements o_O;
But hubby made me thankful because at least we are not living in Vancouver
