They're small, not so expensive, and I hope to see more in Hakone. :D Hopefully they were not some sort of seasonal thing since Oct to February is not such a great distance.

Oh my god that is insane and wonderful. I'm not up on my Japanese history, so I can't remember if the shotgun-toting Hello Kitty represents a specific historical personage, but... wow. :D

I found her at Yunessun XD; This is up there with my Osaka Aquarium music box which plays Vanilla.

No, problem, shotgun toting Hello Kitty is something I want to encourage others to enjoy. :D

I also got a more expected Kitty-chan enjoying an onsen keychain there.

Oh man. I just found a Japanese blog that collects and archives all these Hello Kitty regional LE mascots, and...

That's not even some kind of historical person or theme. It's just "Onsen Limited Marksmanship Hello Kitty". Because there's nothing Hello Kitty loves more than going skeet-shooting at her local onsen.

EDIT: Actually, the blogger talks about trying marksmanship games at her local onsen and suggests that the toy that Kitty is carrying is a prize, so maybe it's more common than I thought? I don't know, I'm just there for the baths.

So does this mean she is only for sale in onsen? Where is this blog? Now I am curious what other wacky Kitty-chan there are out there. There has to be a Date Masamune Kitty chan, right?

So if I got back to Yunessun they should still have "Onsen Limited Marksmanship Hello Kitty" since truly, she is AWESOME!

so why is she carrying the good luck cat, to actually hit something?

The blogger thinks that the maneki neko is the prize that Kitty won for her marksmanship.

The blog is here:
http://gotouchi-kitty.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/

So far, I've found Takeda Shingen, but haven't found Date Masamune yet. Date might be among the newer ones, since Sanrio loves to hop on bandwagons... with over 1200 to look through, I'm not sure where to start!

WHERE CAN YOU BUY TAKEDA SHINGEN?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I NEED TAKEDA SHINGEN HELLO KITTY!

my first choice is of course Sanada Yukimura Hello Kitty, since he's my favorite, but would happily get a Date, Takeda, and Kenshin because nothing says Japanese history like Hello Kitty dressed up like a samurai warlord.

So she's not limited like sakura ginger ale and should still be for sale in Yunessun when I go back, right?

Call me biased but when I think onsen and Japan, I do not think skeet shooting... now karaoke.... lol

It looks like the blogger found Marksmanship Kitty in 2006, so hopefully it's permanently available at well-stocked onsens. It certainly deserves to be permanently available... it's too crazy!

This is a good sign since Yunessun is well Yunessun... it's just such an onsen theme park! It needs to be permanent, this is like the greatest Kitty-chan ever.

Do they carry all the LEs at Kitty-Land in Shibuya? I now sort of want to go...

But yes, I shall quest to bring back lots of Onsen Markmanship Hello Kitties. :D

EDIT: Here's Takeda Shingen Kitty:
http://gotouchi-kitty.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2004/10/no34_d016.html

Yamanashi Pref. exclusive.

Oh, and Google tells me that there's a separate series of Warrior Hello Kitty straps, a collaboration with one of the Epic Drama series (Sengoku Bushi?) This series does include Uesugi Kenshin, but I'm not sure how easy or hard to find these might be (whereas regional LEs might be easier to find at train stations and such?)

I feel so sad, I can recognize some of the crests to know what warlord they must be lol

Hmmmmm if I just need to make it to a train station in Yamanashi.... Do you have to go to Sendai Airport for flying Date Masamune?

Her list is out of date since I sadly did not see my quite ordinary onsen Kitty-chan ^^;;; I think she is also an onsen exclusive judging by the tag. I would not be surprised if there was a Sanada Yukimura one now as well, I ought to try to look in Ueda/Nagano. >>;;

There are just too many of these and this is something I should not start collecting. lol

Oh man, it turns out Sanrio has made at least three different Date Masamune Hello Kitty mascots.

Here's all three on one page:
http://gotouchi-kitty.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2008/07/post_8812.html

The first one is available in the pink (shown there) plus grey, green, and blue. This came out in 2006 so I'm not sure if they still make it. It was a Miyagi Pref. exclusive. Looks like there was also a black version in 2004.

The horse-riding Date Masamune is also a Miyagi Pref. exclusive that she found in February 2008.

Is there a Sanada Yukimura? Now I want to go back to Osaka Castle and look... or try Nagano. >>;;

So if I went to the Sendai airport I could get that charm? ...I think I am going to start wacky Kitty-chans, heaven help me.

So where was Takeda Shingen Kitty-chan from? Though I think marksmanship Kittychan is still my favorite lol

Yay, I finally remembered how to use Google to search within a specific site!

http://gotouchi-kitty.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2008/06/no816_e31f.html

This Sanada Yukimura kitty from 2008 is listed as a Shinshuu/Nagano LE.

And here's a Niigata regional LE of Uesugi Kenshin:

They're so CUTE! So I just need to go to Niiigata-ken or do I have to go to Niigata proper?

I was hoping to go to Nagano/Ueda again and this time have the time to look around more, so Sanada will be mine! What's Shinshuu vs. Nagano? I'm thinking since Ueda has that actual statue it is a good place to look, I only had 45 minutes there last time so spent it all in the castle and still did not have enough time and just barely made my train lol

I actually had to look up Shinshuu. Apparently Shinshuu is another name for Shinano Province from the Sengoku period, which is roughly where Nagano Prefecture is today. The site lists it as a "Shinshuu" exclusive... I don't know if that means it's available in the non-Nagano areas that used to be Shinshuu as well, or if they used the term that would have been used in Sanada's era.

The Uesugi Kenshin LE doesn't specify whether it's exclusive to Niigata Pref. or Niigata proper. They probably want to sell as many as possible, though, so it's probably all of Niigata Prefecture.

Since the actual statue is in Ueda in Nagano-ken I would think that must be in Shinshuu as well as Nagano and I wanted to go back there anyway and go to Bessho onsen :D

Is there anything you want other than Onsen Marksman Hello Kitty? I am still in awe at her, because she just seems so random.
