I do not think I am meant for weird KitKats. I've now tried Ginger Ale and Ramune and I wish I hadn't! I'm not sure which one I find more foul, but I think it's probably Ramune. I can't imagine eating this for fun. I love Japan but some flavors would be better not made. Though I will say the baked sweet potato ice cream I had in Kamakura is still one of the best things I've ever eaten ;;_;;

2009 was an eventful year for me, it included:

The husband's grandmother dying
The husband's sister getting married
Going to Japan 5 times
Discovering onsen and regretting not discovering them earlier
Finally getting in some prime hanami time
Successfully growing over 30 pounds of vegetables in my garden
Deciding to sell my house
Becoming a doujinshika
Becoming addicted to BPAL
Discovered I own a food processor
was saddened when NY Dolpa was cancelled
Went on a Volks Cruise
Went to Cedar Point ♥


For 2010 I'd like to:
Go to Japan
Grow more vegetables
Start my dwarf orchard
Be more creative in my cooking
Make dough once a week
Sell more doujinshi!
Go to a Trunk Show for BPAL
Attend my brother's wedding!
Visit more onsen
Enjoy more hanami

So the house is coming along but I need to work on my next doujinshi for February and plan my next trip. Ideas I am playing with include: going to Ammonoshidate to get my final view (but will it be horrifically cold?!?) Going to Takayama (supposedly very atmospheric in the snow!), Going to Okinawa (hello, semi-tropical vacation!), Bessho onsen (so I can see the secret onsen of the Sanadas), Kutatsu Onsen ♥ seeing more of Kyushu, It's going to be mid-to late February so my concern is snow and cold. It's one thing to walk around in deep snow to an onsen and sit in hot water, it's another thing to go somewhere involving sightseeing. Also if I go to Okinawa do I need to rent a car? I have a valid license for renting but the driving thing makes me anxious.

I heard there were some beaches open year round, but I was thinking of looking into going to some of the farther islands since they have nature too. The aquarium is supposed to be awesome and I heard the castle was nice. And warmer! :D

Ohhhh thanks for the recc's any thoughts on the other locations? I am really thinking about Takayama and wondering if I could get a good price on my dream hotel.

The White Chocolate KitKat is about as adventurous as I get with them because there are some things that just should not exist. The ice cream sounds nice, though.

How did you discover you owned a food processor?

I hear you have some sort of peanut butter kit kat in the UK which is supposed to be wonderful. Do you want me to bring you more ziploc baggies BTW? Is there anything else I can bring?

Well I sort of knew I had one (it was a wedding gift lol) but it had sat in a basement since we'd gotten married and so I thought it would no longer work. I was happily wrong, since it makes pie crusts so much easier! (and grating vegetables.) lol

Yes so long as I book my airfare, I am debating which airport I want to fly out of (Tokyo vs. Osaka)

I've seen it around but haven't tried it - Kit Kats were a big part of my childhood and I'm still trying to adjust to them suddenly having all these different varieties! (Our choice used to be limited to: 2-finger or 4-finger.)

Funny you should ask about the baggies. Mum and I were trying to find something of a decent size to freeze stuff in recently and reached the conclusion that what we need is the larger ones - we can get smaller and medium ones in the UK now, but they don't seem to do the ones we used to have, roughly 16"x13". I'm not quite sure what capacity that equates to, but if you have any idea I'd love a box, thanks. Would you like something from Thorntons, or fabled peanut butter Kit Kats, or anything else?

It's always nice when old appliances miraculously still work. We find ours extremely handy for making chocolate eclairs!

Let me ask the people I know who like Kit Kats lol I am actually only so fond of them and the one flavor *I* liked the bitter chocolate XD; Around here I think we just have the 2 vs 4 vs perhaps larger now options. We don't really have other flavors. Though Japan specializes in the .... flavors.

Hmmmm I shall endeavor. :D I'm trying to watch my sweet in-take though failing at it and I'm not sure I can eat my treacle toffee after my crown ~.~ But I shall think on it!

Yes, especially old appliances one never used XD;; But now it's been lovely and makes pie crusts 100% easier. I can't believe in 2008 I did them by hand. I've not made eclairs, only cream puffs, but it was years ago.

I was thinking of staying about 2 weeks, but now I discovered there is some sort of Basara event I think on the 21st and 28th but Basara circles are awful with sharing information ~.~ I do have my heart set on getting tickets for the event on the 21st! I hope to spend some time tomorrow thinking it through.

I did finally get the FCS, I'd written down the wrong apartment number. >.> But it worked out because Volks fixed the headplate when it got sent back. That sucks about the eyes! Do you want me to try to get you some with a future order?

I think the post office only delivers New Year's cards from the 1st to the 3rd, so no packages lately. ;_; If my mailbox isn't stuffed full when I come home from work tomorrow, I'm going to explode!

Hmmm thanks for the FCS offer, I might do a split in the future or something, it's more I wanted a picture to share the color since there really aren't good pictures of #28. I loved how they were green with the blue rim and instead I got the yellow green color. It's still nice but not the same. Technically, I don't need more eyes, I'm just an addict. Though if I keep the f-43 I need either zouks, Silver, Hitomiya or something nice for it. I had a great pair of Hitomiyas but cleaned them good ;;_;;

Yeah I know re: the line thing. I'm trying to get a space for SCC :3 I don't want so much, I need to see what circles I like. I love Geass which is one its way out and Basara which will be huge? But I don't like the BIG pairing and maybe something else? I need to track down my circles, can I email you/get back to you with spaces? I need to place an order with BPAL soon so if you want I am happy to order some bottles and can bring them with me in February since it will be around when they're shipping. And again I'm getting some stuff I think you might enjoy, I just bought another 1/2 bottle of Bake Sale ♥

Sure, if you let me know what you want, I'll look for it for you. I'm not sure on the BPAL, what I'm hoping to get tomorrow besides your package are my anniversaries and resurrecteds. Paulette and Cassiel and I are thinking about placing an order and splitting the shipping. Can BPAL stuff and BPTP stuff be placed on the same order? Because I really want a clocket, but I'm not sure how to do an international BPTP order. fgaeuryg I need to stop spending money!

I don't know either lol I didn't think it was so bad. I've seen a few others that confuse me greatly though so I can commiserate.

You can't combine BPTP stuff with a regular lab order unless they make an exception for Internationals but I sort of doubt it. I know for those of us in the US shipping for the BPTP is higher. If you don't order with them LMK I want a bottle of El Dia Del Reyes and I need to test my Mother's Shub stuff. I'm debating Lick It and Spooky.

If the Trading Post gets more LEs I might order there, I can't remember what they do for Valentine's Day in which case you can piggyback on me.

Are you trying any of the Inquisitions? Have you ever tried a prototype? I've no idea how hardcore either Paulette or Cassiel are.

If I ordered from K-books could I have it shipped to you? You would just need to hold onto it for me until February :)

And yeah!!! Cause I love K-books cause I can order myself, I just need a Japanese mailing addy. My list for the actual event will be small then since it's easier to just order and pay a little more but know I am getting what I wanted. (and some circles suck about sharing spaces ~.~ ) I wish K-books would get the Play Plant book I want since I hate trying to figure out Toranora.

The Inquisitions were both awesome and sucky this year cause you had to get a t-shirt so they cost more. They were BPTP and only up like a week. I can prob send you some testers. :)

Bake Sale and Lamia are two popular protos. Who did you buy from, that was a generous tester gift :) I just bought more Bake Sale. I never get the caramel or coconut I get banana bread --> coffee --> maple syrup! lol And the longevity, I still smell it more than 24 hours+a shower later! I'm addicted to protos which sucks sine they are usually CA event exclusives. I'm in love with XCDL13, it's like Antique Lace but nicer.

Figures. ;_; I'll try and find someone to ship it out to me. I think Elizabeth's parents send her things quite often, if my parents are still going to be on vacation.

I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK the testers were from scrappy on the forum. She also stuffed a soap sample and some Christmas candy in my envelope. I was so happy!

But no mail today except for a late New Year's card! T____T I want my imps and my present from Rachelllll.

And OMG, I just saw the thing about KimaLucifer on DoA. :o I remember how she got all pissed last year about getting "bumped" from the Disneyland event. Makes me wonder if she ever got accepted to the event at all, and had taken commissions before knowing whether or not she was going. And it sounds like she herself didn't go on the Kobe cruise at all, so it was a pretty blatant violation of DoA rules for her to sell Williams on behalf of her "friend who went". I hope the people who got screwed over get their money back. :x

Yeahhh Scrappy has a lot of stuff I think she must live near CA or know someone there to get her things at decent prices. I'm hoping my friend out there can go to the next Trunk Show if I can not. It's so awesome, you can get there like an hour early, and get a good # and no lottery!

OMG you've not been following it? Kim and I obsess over problem transactions in general, they can be hilarious. You should have seen how bitchy I got when I was involved in 2. But since no one but people involved can post in the thread I am posting in the KObe thread as a work around to get more updates.

I seriously think she stole the money, it's easily like 8k considering she took 3 orders, commission money, and transportation costs! I don't know how anyone could believe someone had 2 other friends who both got in and didn't want the doll and hadn't sought commissions on DoA itself. I remember her getting pissed about the Disney thing but I thought she was being ridiculous. Also, she has 3 feedback, now way I am trusting someone with money like that on 3 feedback.

Paulette got Haruhi pre-Disney event since Disney was Feb 2009 and Haruhi must have been GW 2008? I don't think you went to Dolpa, I think you came out later for SCC that year, I think. I just remember there was a sort of rude and tacky foreigner who Sue said she sort of knew and I *THINK* it was KimaLucifer. I just remember the person I never saw again picking up Haruhi w/o Paulette's permission and Paulette had just waited HOURS to get her and threw a fit.

The 2008 Dolpa story was definitely true, I was there for that, I just don't remember who the other foreigner was. lol I remember that and her giving me a random Barbie thing as a gift, and I think she knocked over my doll ~.~

Text Sue or Paulette? One of them might know if it was her, Sue definitely should since Sue had met the other person before at a previous meet. I sort of think it was since Kima is in Tokyo area and so was this person.

K-books changed their site so it is going to take a bit for me to figure out the Japanese, and then I will place my order, yeah to doujinshi, mostly involving samurai warlords >>;

Anyway I would love one largish thing from Osaka Comic City cause one of my favorite circles has a special release bag and awesome new books I do not own yet.

I don't want their Hetalia book, I don't do Hetalia, just the Basara one. OK the K-books order was placed and my credit card said the order was authorized so it should at some point go out. Just let me know if you can't pick up the Mozuya as otherwise I might try K-books for that as well >>;; I still love my Geass circles but Geass is sort of on its way out so I should be able to get everything I want in Feb. and I always prefer to support circles in person. ^^; As far as I can tell there won't be a more general event while in Japan. I only just realized PlayPlant did my awesomely wrong butler fusion book.
