Now that it's December, my good buddy the Big Sight scheduler has decided to share that Dolpa 23 will be 5/4. Thankfully this is not the same date as either SCC day 1 or day 2. Though I imagine by the 4th I will be exhausted with 3 events in a row. Though of course I am thinking of trying to get me some dealer's passes for SCC >D

Gah! I'd love to go again, but we're hoping to go to both Paris and NY next year. R. just said that he's for Tokyo too, but somehow I doubt if our poor bank account will agree. Hope to see you in NY though!

Yeah depending on when you come into NY I can go into the city to meet you, right now we're about 40 minutes outside but we plan to be further by summer *knock wood*. Were you going to try and go for the NY Dolpa or just a general trip?

I'm not a Paris person. ^^;;; I've been there 2x and will not be upset if I never go back there again. If you're already in NY, NY airports tend to have good prices to Europe, so you could maybe use your trip here as a stepping stone. I know when my mother in law goes to Europe she is going to use somewhere on the East coast as a layover.

I'm hoping/planning to go to the NY Dolpa, although R. isn't sure if he wants to come along. That's a very good idea though of combining NY with Paris!

We've been all over the countryside of France, but never made it to Paris. I said to R. last night that I hope that we hate it, so that we won't pine over it once we get back.;)

You could have R come out post the NY Dolpa and both meet at JFK or Newark and fly from there to Paris? It might work well for you. I can see why R would not want to go to the NY Dolpa. It's VERY different from a Japanese one. I enjoy them, but they're very very very different.

I spent some time in the countryside many years ago, it was OK but was the first place I ever saw anti-semetic graffiti and so it left a sour taste in my mouth. I had thought Paris was ok my first time but everything I had liked about Paris was gone by 2001. I think it's just not a very pretty city, it's not very green. I think London is prettier, but I'm not fond of there either. I thought Edinburgh and Prague were the two most beautiful large cities I've been to in Europe. But again, I'm not a Europe person and never find myself wanting to go there. Though secretly I would love to go to Australia and New Zealand
