It's hot and humid here and that always make me cranky, that and I'm trying to make a LJ icon but not having any luck finding the images I want. Oh well.

Anyway for those curious.. long awaited pictures from my last two trips to Japan. (May 2004 and June 2004)

Millennium Force...*drools*
Millennium Force from the hotel parking lot. *so worth the money for that view!*

For those interested, people generally find it odd that I am completely petrified of ferris wheels but not things like Millennium Force which are tall enough to fit the Statue of Liberty under. (and not the Odaiba version) The truth is, I am terrified of heights, and roller coasters generally don't spend that long at the top and you're always moving rather fast. Ferris wheels move slowly and you feel like you're up high forever.

I will try to actually write up something about some of the things I did at some point, but I am slow.
And for those who missed it last May...

Whereas I'm afraid of heights, hate roller coasters, but absolutely adore ferris wheels!

Impressive bunch of photos - I'm looking forward to the trip even more now! (If that's possible, anyway...) Of the people we're meeting up with for Comiket, Koon tells me one is a major Fuji fan - I shall have to see if she likes Fujicest ^_^

Yay, pics! Thanks for posting them! Love the doll pics, although I'm not a doll collector, it's neat to see what people come up with. (And yes, I'm still planning to go to Japan myself, fall 2005!)

I confess I'm trying to make my own dolls, though my plan is first to try my hand at making plushies. Hopefully, tomorrow I will make it to the fabric store so that maybe by Monday night I have something to show.

Well you can go to a show depending on when in the Fall you're in Japan *laughs*

I actually have more pictures to up at some point from a few trips back, it just gets hard cause I'm slow about editing things.

Oh, I did find atcual plushie fabric the other day, but the store I was at didn't have many colors. It was considered to be some kind of flanel, if I recall correctly.

I was so sad that the Keigo was not for sale or I would have bought him in a second, though the Seed dolls are also to die for.

Kanoko said next was Oshitari, despite my fangirling over Yuuta. *laughs*

I got base fabric too, I just need more hair fabric and I'm working out a method to do the faces. I'm probably going to start by re-doing one of my PoT ones cause 1) I have duplicates of some and 2) you can easily remove their clothes.

We'll have to see how it goes though. I'd really like to make some non PoT ones as well as PoT ones of characters they didn't make and ought to *cough*Yuuta*cough* instead of making more of the same characters again and again and again

Damn, those are great pictures - especially the one of you at the playground (that one's almost worth getting printed out as an actual extra-sized photo with framing & everything). Thanks for sharing them! ^___^ I'm basically gob-smacked at the mad skillz of those doll makers (the teeny little SHOES all in perfect detail @_@).
Oh, and definitely looking forward to hearing what y'all actually got up to in Tokyo. ^_~

Blah, my computer refuses to open them >.< Are they the two pictures that Jenn has of me at SCC? Cause she sent me copies of them and I absolutely adore one of them cause the expression just so captures the mix of excitement and exhaustion of SCC to me. ^o^

Did you get the email I wrote you in June? I was using webmail and I find it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't ^^;;;;

Anyway, I'm trying to save money to go back to Japan in Oct. Yuuta only event ^o^

*BLUSH* thanks!!! I believe Kim actually took that one. It's a shot I wanted because my character in the RPG winds up inside that jungle gym. (Which is not as easy to climb into wearing a skirt!!!!) I usually end up visiting that playground a lot, because it's near where one of the doll shows is held and it gets dull waiting for the show to start.

Yeah, most of the the people who sell things are excessively talented. I am ever in awe. Some of the shoes are manufactured vinyl ones and you just can't tell from the pictures, but some are indeed handmade. I own the pink dress (http://www.yamanote-line.net/japan-pictures/trip-pictures/doll-show12-22.jpg) in this picture.

I will write up actual summaries and such! *determined*

XDDD Yes, it was very difficult to take Ryoma seriously in 143 when I had a nekkid Ryoma plushie sitting right next to the computer.

I've finally started work on one, but I think I'm going to try and make a keychain size plushie first because it's a lot easier. *laughs*

Hopefully, I'll get a picture up soon.

I think I made a few posts, I'm just slow, very slow. *blushes* That and I spend too much time RPing.

Oddly enough, I've wanted to collect dolls since I was a little girl and my father gave me a book on Barbie. The Barbies that were at the time for sale didn't fascinate me anywhere near as much as the dolls from the late 1960's. I'd love to someday make dolls of characters I like, though I don't sell as well as the people at doll shows do.

I'm a bit obssessive, and when I could I based RWT things on real places I've been. (For example, Kim knew exactly where the playground I was thinking of was when Keigo went to rescue Yuuta since we'd both been there before.) But it's nice to have actual pictures of the real places. ^_^

Yeah, I know a few people who get motion sickness and it doesn't sound like fun. I've been blessed with a very strong stomach in regards to things like that.

I actually have sort of always wanted to RP as well. In high school, some of my friends played D&D but they had a rather strict 'No Girls' policy. >.< Part of the reason I adore the RP is I love playing Yuuta.

I always appreciate hearing that someone reads the RP and I strive to try and make the chatlogs readable and to keep a linear timeline. (It's why nothing is happening right now, but I hope to get up a few logs soon.)

I think some people have it so severe that even closing one's eyes doesn't help. ^^;

Do you get motion sick from video games? The one thing that makes me really really ill are those circle screen films/180 films where they make you think you're moving over something but in fact you're standing completely still. BTW you're in NY aren't you?

I know a few people who have it very severely. One of my good friends from grade school just can't go on any rides.

I think the movies make me sick because they give the feeling of moving except without any movement. (motion simulator rides don't make me sick cause they jerk you around, I also don't find many of them very believeable. ^^; )

Awww I'm from downstate, but I've been to parts of upstate.
