I should be drawing, or even more importantly cleaning and making food for my company tomorrow (hehehehe) but who wants to clean and make food when they can be wasting time on LJ and doing a meme! :D

Questions courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] isachi who is back from the non-LJ void

1. Leave me a comment saying "interview me"
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the questions and the answers to the questions in your journal.
4. You will include this explanation and offer to interview someone else in the same post.

1) Favorite President?

Teddy Roosevelt. >>;;

Despite his love of hunting maybe he just had really big critters in his garden eating his tomato plants! I love the fact that they tried to make him VP in hopes of getting to vanish and then McKinley met Leon and Teddy got the White House. I love that Teddy was the first to work on the issue of monopolies, something I would love to see a President take on today.

Plus he was from NY!

2) (this is a mean question I know hahaha) If you had to chose ONE of your cats, which one and why?

I shall give you the standard answer which is also which cat is my favorite...

I would save whichever cat was closest because that is my favorite cat. At the moment this is Basil since I've no idea where Cookie is vs. yesterday night it was Cookie since Basil was hiding and Cookie was snuggled up with my butt.

3) How did you get into doujinshi (making it I mean) because this happened while I was AWOL from lj and I really don't know :)

Erin!

Or ok the long version:
I'd first thought about it when [livejournal.com profile] muscatlove saw something about some Fuji uke event in Osaka and we were joking about getting a space and doing a copyhon of Yumiko x Fuji ♥ But nothing came of it.

Then [livejournal.com profile] hinoai and [livejournal.com profile] dilettantka tried their hands at making doujinshi. I even got to use one of their circle passe for SCC and I just found it all so fascinatingand is the reason I am NEVER doing an R-18 doujinshi unless I become fluent in Japanese and can do a text only R-18 book . I picked up a flyer for a GinoSuza event and thought, wow, I should get a space, then I won't have to wait to get in! The GinoSuza event sold out spaces super fast, so that didn't happen.

Meanwhile I was becoming much better friends with [livejournal.com profile] ee970 (I'd met her and [livejournal.com profile] akaisakura with Kim at K-books in 2003 because they were foreigners and they liked HikaGo and were reading Wankage lol ) Erin and I were both into Geass and Erin has family in NY so we got to hang out when she came to visit them. Erin also likes food and is super funny and enjoys doing semi-normal things like sightseeing and visiting onsen ♥ ♥ Erin had helped contribute to 2 of Eda and Jamie's (or maybe it was just Eda's) doujinshi, since Eda, Erin and Jamie were all friends. In Oct we went to Kairaku-en and started to talk about how it would be fun to try to do a doujinshi and since we were both into Geass it seemed the obvious choice. We picked an event and uhh then procrastinated, but did actually do a book!

I knew there was a Suzaku puchi at Haru and I wanted to sell at it cause my favorite circle was running the puchi. Plus circle pass! So I applied for Haru alone and got in. I meant to apply for SCC but missed the deadline, but now I am trying for a Suzaku event in October again! :D

It's surprisingly fun and addicting but is a lot of work and expense. I like that it makes me draw. I'm working on plots and layouts for my next books assuming I get the space I applied for. It also makes me feel like I'm more a part of fandom and giving something back more. There are many better artists than me so it can be discouraging, but I still like trying.

4) Favorite vegetable?
To grow or to eat?

To grow probably green beans, so incredibly easy! Plus they enrich the soil with nitrogen.

To eat... uhhhh I'm not sure. I love arugula, but also like green beans and peas a lot. I adore tomatoes but those are fruit and I've never met a squash I did not like.

Speaking of which, expect some out of date garden pictures soon!

5) If you could change anything about yourself what would it be?

...Hmmmm I would like to be less hairy ;;_;; but if we're talking non-physical things... I would love the ability to finish more things and not get so distracted by the new and shiny. I hate thinking back to all my unfinished projects and even if they're not all entirely my fault, it's still something that bothers me a lot.

Thank you!!! I just got my confirmation email earlier today that I am in the event so I am really happy. I'm not the best artist by far, but it's still very exciting. I hope someone buys my books!

So let's see:
1) since I actually find this question interesting Who is your favorite president?
2) If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
3) Who is your favorite Saint?
4) What do you think your greatest talent is?
5) What is your usual dinner?
