Thanks to jetlag I woke up at 5am. I guess I should be happy, at least I slept solidly from midnight to 5. I suspect tonight I will go to sleep earlier which will help immeasurably when I once again wake up at... 5 or 6 am lol

My flight from JFK to LAX was great, paid 15,000 miles to upgrade to Business Class since the flight is 6 hours. My flight from LAX to Japan SUCKED. It sat at the gate for more than 2+ hours while bags were searched. I believe according to someone else on the other side of the plane, some woman was removed by the police so it was her bags they were searching for but come on, 2 hours to find the damn bags?!?! That is ridiculous. Most of my flight missed their connections, some of my flight were rebooked for later that evening. I'm never going through LAX to Japan again if I can help it. Plus the plane is a 747 I hate 747s unless I am in Business Class. At least my flight was not full.

I'll try to check in to LJ when I can but at the moment, I'm strongly considering takyuubinning my laptop back to Tokyo come Tues morning and I have no idea about internet at the onsen I'm staying at Sat and Sun night. Had a very yummy pizza dinner with [livejournal.com profile] ee970, pizza is such a comfort food for me.

Goooood morning. XD

I wasn't sure from your mail last night if you meant that you were just leaving L.A. or if you were leaving Narita ("heading to Tokyo").

in any case, glad you made it!

Glad you've safely arrived (sorry for your bad layover at LAX). :-P What airline were you on?

I nearly always fly UAL cause I have status with them and hope to make it to the next level quite soon.

I'm not sure it was the airline so much as the baggage people and police. When someone was removed from my flight in SFO it didn't seem to go anywhere near as long. ;;_;;

God, I hate flight delays so much. :\ I feel your pain. I felt really lucky my Japan flights to and fro went really smoothly.

Most of mine have gone smoothly before. ~.~ I think it is LAX. I'm not going to use it again for trips to Japan. Plus United short shifts you on the miles and makes it hard to upgrade the NY to LA leg. I'd rather just use SFO, DC or fly ANA direct.

Sounds like a rough trek, but now you're in Japan and things should be better for a bit. Have fun. Take lots of pics. Can't wait to hear all about the trip!

Sadly my battery died at Hirosaki today which was just awful since the sakura was beautiful despite the weather.

Hope you're doing well, you're in my thoughts!
