I should be positively ecstatic, I heard from Erin last night that we/me/I am in the Puchi! Double Slash actually sent me their cute little form email addressed specifically to me. I need to work on doujinshi and my website, but I have an actual space at Haru at the Suzaku uke puchi with all the circles I adore and am now officially a Suzaku uke/GinoSuza circle. I so hope everyone is friendly or smiles or something. ^^;;

So I should be happy.

My mom despite my having mentioned to her when she asked me a week ago about dates has scheduled her newest back surgery for the 4th. I need to leave on the 11th or 12th. ;;_;; I was hoping to stay in Japan a little longer past Kyoto Dolpa in hopes of catching the start of sakura, I managed that in March 07 and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I loved seeing the sakura in Himeji and trying to get good pictures and had hoped to have the chance to do it at Takematsu or even Kyoto but now I feel like I have to come home as soon as possible to help my mom. This sucks. I can help her from the 4th to the 11th and work to get things done for Japan as well and uhh I guess draw/get things done at her house. My sister is coming in the 9th, so I will be there to help the days preceding that and my sister will be home for 1 week and I guess I will get to see her for a few days before leaving but just GAH! My mom said she would have to ask my brother for help, but he's only so useful.

I know she probably picked this time because it was when my sister could easily take off, but still. *sighs*

Sorry about the timing of your trip and your mom. That sucks.

Yeah, there is just nothing I can do about it and I remember telling her just last week I was going to Japan in mid March. *sighs* But the timing does make the most sense for her with Passover coming in April, it's just frustrating.

Congrats about getting to attend alongside your favorite circles! I'm sorry about all the mom stress, but it's definitely not your fault! It sounds like you are going to help out as much as you can, and she'll understand that. <3

I am going to do my best to help out and I was just offering to loan her my old laptop so that she can use the computer while she recovers.

Hopefully the process goes better than last time because this time the surgery is successful. ^^;;

I'm so excited about the doujinshi event I just know my worries about my mom are going to pray on my mind.

Ooh, that's a good idea! I'm sure she'll love that~

Best of luck, I really hope it succeeds! And try not to let it bog you down too much while you're in Japan~ <3

Actually she wants to borrow it now, I forgot my Dad managed to get their computer defunct thanks to spyware and my Mom misplaced her Windows XP disc.

If all goes well, she should actually be doing a lot better by the time I leave, so hopefully!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear about the timing of your mom's surgery... but I hope you're able to enjoy yourself at the events, and hopefully you'll get some time to relax in Japan.

On the bright side, I will know by Japan if the surgery was successful this time. ^^;; We think that the surgery last time was failed and that is why she still has pain but the doctors don't really want to admit it was failed. (or at least some of them don't and they keep worrying about how they are couching it.)

I really want to try to sightsee in Japan. I was going to try to go to Nagasaki but at the very least I want to go to Takematsu and a part of me wants to go to Hakone. I ought to start working on some sort of list. ^^

Congrats on getting into the circle!

It sucks about your mom's surgery date, but you're probably right. I daresay she was taking your sister's availability into account as well. Do what you can--pack early for the trip so you can spend time with your mom.

And dude, your brother needs to step up to the plate and help, too. No fair just having the women do it!

It's hard for my brother because he doesn't own a car and getting to and from my parents house from his office via public transportation is a real challenge and unlike me he does have a job. In the past since I am unemployed I've been the one to mostly help with my dad when he had bypass and even though I worked when my mom had her first surgery I was only 1 1/2 miles away. Plus her house was on my way home. If the surgery actually goes well this time *fingers crossed* she would actually be doing considerably better by the time I leave for Japan and would be walking again by the time I came home. Mostly she needs people to keep her company and to carry things for her or do things like grocery shop and without a car my brother is not going to be as useful for that.

I'm hoping my husband can help some. ^^;

She says it was also the earliest date she could get with the surgeon. Most of the surgeons don't want to admit that the first surgery was a failure and that re-doing it might help and would rather try to do a more complicated but not necessarily necessary surgery. It of course makes my mom cranky. She just wants to be able to walk the way she use to.

And thanks! *hugs* It's so exciting. I so hope it all works out! I need to get to work on my copyhons and postcards. I'm hoping to do one serious story and when light-hearted one based off Little Red Ridinghood.

I'll be there for mom, and I may even be able to work from her house if she needs me there during the day, since I've got a laptop and they've got an Internet connection.

Lots of love,

Sorry to hear that your mom has to have the back surgery again -- but it's good that you don't leave for Japan until she's actually had the surgery. And though it seems like a bit of juggle -- your brother & sister will be around while you're gone. Even if your bro doesn't have a car -- just to help your mom, couldn't he get a cab once or twice?

Yay for your next Japan trip! Yes, a list of what you would like to do prior to going is helpful (I'm the list queen). Once you're there, it's up to you whether you want to do it or not. ^_^

It's really frustrating for her. She use to be fairly active and enjoyed walking with one of her neighborhood friends and doing various exercise programs and now it's considered a good day if she can manage walking around the grocery store.

The prob is cabs are sort of expensive here and really what she is going to need the most help with is grocery shopping/shopping in general and just doing the errands around the house. I'm a little anxious about my sister as well as I've just found out she has no driver's license anymore. ~.~ It also doesn't help that she insists she will only eat organic and I am certainly not running all over to go grocery shopping for her between getting ready for a trip and helping my mom!

I am usually good about lists so it's something I really need to think about. I had been hoping to make it Nagasaki but my friend wants to go on a week end and I would prefer to go during the week so I think it is not going to happen. I really want to try to make it to Takamatsu and perhaps go back to Kanazawa if it's not supposed to rain. >>;

That's good but I'm not sure how much you will need to take off work so much as just rent a car or borrow one from the parents. Michael is also just going to have to be patient with Mom cause she's gotten really forgetful and sometimes she is just slow with things. (She completely forgot the conversation we had just last week where I said I was going to Japan!)

I'm sure you'll both do fine, I just don't like the fact that I won't be there.

And I just heard Rebecca let her driver's license expire and you know how she gets about eating organic ~.~

Sure, Rolo can go to Disney, so long as you take pictures of him and tell him no geassing people or assassinating anyone. lol

I hope he has been reasonably good and not causing havoc.

Haha yes. I forget sometimes since hubby doesn't have a LJ that he actually reads what I post and my Brother and his girlfriend rarely update theirs >>;

It's not that I don't think they'll help it's more I have a hard time trusting other people to do as good a job as I would. I know that sounds awful. <<;

I am excited about Japan still, I mean, I'm in the puchi and I'm secretly hoping to catch some sakura.

*hugs*

We so have to do something, if you like we can eat dinner at your new apartment one night and I can make something. :)

Thank you so much! *hugs* I can't express how thrilled and excited I am. I'm really hoping they accept me and like realize how much of a fan of both Suzaku and of their works I am!

Hopefully, hopefully, this time it is a success in which case she should be doing a lot better by the time I leave. I think part of the problem is none of her previous doctors are willing to admit surgery #1 failed and instead try to claim there is a new problem when it seems pretty clear it is a failure. So I'm really hoping this time we get success!

and now the surgery is being put off. ;;_;; It's stressful for her because she already had the surgery once and it didn't work out. She's met with 4 or 5 surgeons now as well to look into what the next possible step is.

And yes, I'm so excited though I have so much to do!!!
