Oops, I did it again ;;_;;
Jan. 7th, 2009 03:06 pmFirst, huge apologies to my flist. I've been skimming at best for the last week and half to 2 weeks.
jusrecht I am going to read your fics, on the plane tomorrow. I'm going to have the page opened before I leave so I have access even without the internet. ^^;;
Everyone else, I am going to try to go back and leave comments when I can and will try to follow everyone's LJs from Japan. I feel awful about this, but yeah that is one reason I do every so often cut my flist, I just am awful at how I spend my time and like to get involved with big projects.
So to those who don't know, tomorrow I leave for Japan. Fortunately, I've already been confirmed for an upgrade to Business class from NY to SF, and hopefully I can get an upgrade from Japan >>;; SF tends to be stingy with upgrades but fortunately Osaka is not, so I am hoping on that flight I can get one. But at the very least, I get Business class to SF.
Happy Belated Birthdays to
dilettantka and
akaisakura, I think I got you earlier
spazzygirl19 if not you're included in the belated wishes. It's not that I forgot any of you, I've just not been posting much. ;;_;;
Happy Birthday to
blacktempest.
New Year's Resolutions!
1) To not give myself 2 weeks to plan a trip to Japan, draw and visit with my sister and her girlfriend+see family. It will only end in stress.
2) To read more actual books.
3) To get back into going to the gym >>;;
4) To draw more.
5) To turn Strawberry-sorbet into a fan-art site.
6) To seriously work on sales!
For those who want to see 2 pages worth of mock ups of my little copyhon..

I just need to organize the spacing on a single piece of paper so I can print them out at Kinkos! Oh, and do the notes page, but I've done clean up and in the test printing I did things didn't look half bad.Please wish me luck selling and that someone picks to buy my little book lol
So I am now officially a doujinshi circle! :D

Date: 2009-01-13 10:03 pm (UTC)BTW ... what did you think of the cookie & tea samples?
(no subject)
Date: 2009-01-13 10:09 pm (UTC)The cookies were delicious though and I was bad and didn't share them with my hubby >>;; My favorites were the lemon, I love lemon. I am going to send you something else when I get back, I'm just super behind still. ;;_;;

Date: 2009-01-13 10:13 pm (UTC)*lol* The lemon snaps are my bestseller. And I'm thinking of a tagline (or something like one) -- that people don't like to share my cookies. I have a friend whose ex-stepmother has a 'standing' order of lemon snaps from me. This lady hides the lemon snaps when her bridge club comes over. She shares them with *no* one. ;-)

Date: 2009-01-13 09:45 pm (UTC)Yeah, I was wondering while you were not about but was hoping that meant you were working on your apps and going to the gym like I should have been. ;;_;; Did I tell you I finally saw the FMA movie?
Yeah, I wanted to try a color copyhon, I'm not sure what we are going to actually try for March, but I want to learn to use my tablette and maybe look into Photoshop. I am expecting I will do better since I can at least use a track pad now. Yeah, I'm glad with how the shading on the dreidel went. Do you use PhotoShop?
Eheheheh, I'd already left when you posted this and was prob in the air, though I'm not sure I get dates so confused. ;;_;;

So far the pictures are not so exciting sadly. ;;_;; It's sooooooo cold here!

That sounds so weird. *giggles* But I am super-impressed that you are doing this. (Nice katakana, btw. Do you think he's Jewish?) Your sample pages look very cute - risqué calendar and all - and I will keep my fingers crossed that people will buy it! Good luck! *hugs*

Date: 2009-01-13 09:52 pm (UTC)I do think Gino is Jewish and from either Long Island or Jersey, most people I know from the Northeast think so when they hear his last name is Weinberg XD;; It just such a Jewish sounding last name. I got a lot of help from

Very true. He's probably got a ton of doctors, lawyers and accountants in his family tree somewhere!

Date: 2009-01-13 09:55 pm (UTC)And OK some traveling to Japan info!
Even if it is cheap don't stay near Shin-Inamiya, Dobutsuen-mae, or Tennoji in Osaka (unless like you are actually staying in Spa World) Shin-Inanamiya and Dobutsuen-mae are really not very safe and in the really bad part of Osaka. It's very sketchy and I was warned away by people who actually live in Osaka.
