So I am finally back home in NY, I'm super behind on LJ and have not yes watched 18 though I do know the big spoiler >>;; Someone shared it at Otakon and it was so the suck ~.~ I hope everyone understands why I've not been commenting on their LJs and I will do my best to go back through things once I've watched 18 tomorrow.

First, super happy belated birthday to cc_lemon *hugs* Sorry, I couldn't do this earlier, our hotel didn't have internet ;;_;;

Anyway for those who didn't know, I was not only going to Otakon, but had plans to cosplay! I'd not cosplayed since uhhh 2003 when I was Ryoma at Katsucon. I make a horrible Ryoma because I tend to smile a lot. lol and it didn't help at the time no one knew what Tenipuri was and we had these ultra ghetto costumes I had made with fabric paint since the official jerseys had either just been released or had not been released yet. o_O;; or wait did I cosplay at the last ShoujoCon over the summer in 2003, I can't remember? But suffice it to say, it had been a long time. sumeragiskank and I had originally just planned to be two YuGiOh characters cause the costumes were mostly easy to get together but then, we fell in love with GinoSuza. >>; So Kim was going to be the shortest Gino ever and I was going to be the happiest Suzaku ever. But between Dollectable and me just being incompetent I didn't order a costume from China leaving me with around a week plus to get a Suzaku costume together. Kim doubted I could do it, but thanks to my sewing skills I DID

In sewing my costume I learned that 1) my sewing machine is awesome! 2) sewing doll clothes is way easier since this costume was frickin huge!!! 3) fleece is both easy and hard to work with and 4) learning to use a dictaphone has improved my pedal control XD;;

Otakon was lots of fun and lots of people took my picture, people I did not even know! To me that is the main reason to cosplay, to have people recognize you and take your picture XD;; I also got lots of hugs in my Suzaku costume cause it was soft and fuzzy. I also discovered that Otakon has the best Artist Alley of any con I have ever been to in the US and I commissioned tons of piccies to be shared in a future post once the final picture has arrived here. I also bought the husband a ton of Death Note as he loved volumes 1+2 and it's been killing me not to share spoilers.

I got to meet inarikitsunebi, who kindly let me stay in the room she reserved and who I owe money to and loves GinoSuza like me! and minachiko who makes an amazing Suzaku, much better than me! I also got to meet Tara and spend time with graycat21 and Beth! *waves*

Hands down the highlight of Otakon which sadly I did not think to record as I would be the queen of hits on Youtube was I saw a very very good Willy Wonka from the Johnny Depp movie cosplayer. Several fangirls went up to him, and then there was a sudden loud cry and 20-30 fangirls (most in costume) surrounded him shouting "Candy!!!" The Willy look seriously horrified for a few moments as the fangirls continued to shout "Candy!!!" until he finally forced a smile and danced a bit with his fans. I should mention that at least one of the fans was dressed as Sasuke XD;;;

Originally, I wasn't XD;;; But it was a costume I felt like I could actually manage to sew on my own, which I did, I made it all except the hood which I got help for >>;

So do I look cute, does it work? I figured that way my plumpness is not a prob and it's a costume I've not even seen the Japanese do a lot lol Could you tell who I was before I shared the piccie from the episode???

I did have a tail but it is not in any of the pictures. ;;_;;

Kim thought I looked like my mother which I sort of do >>;;; Her hair is like that color and since she dyes it that texture more lol But nooooo totally both wigs, I will not cut my hair and I've spent so much time trying to grow out these bangs ;;_;; The Suzaku one just looks more natural with my coloring and eyebrows while the Ryou one is more obviously a wig. But I think the roots/side bits aren't showing so much which is good!

Yes, and I plan to use it for either Halloween or Purim. I could be insane and bring it to Japan for the GinoSuza event but I think that is not a good idea. I might go to KatsuCon in the future though. It was sooooo much work, I can't believe I sewed it, even now and I had such a hard time getting fabric ;;_;;

YEAH!!! Am glad you like the costume, it's Suzaku from Code Geass. Usually he is angsty and has cool Clampesque costumes since they designed the characters but I know my sewing limitations though I might try to make some nicer doll things now that I managed to make that costume for me since doll things are way easier to sew since they're smaller <<;

I... think you were Fuji, and Ko was Eiji? Does that sound right? I had no clue who any of the characters were at the time, but I might have a picture floating around somewhere. XD That was the one where I was Kamui, yep! Ahh, those were the days~ ;D I have pictures of Kamui getting molested by, like, everyone!

I knooooow, I want more happy!Suzaku! D: He's so cute when he's not being all emo. ;_; And it really would be awesome to have a Geass group, I didn't get to wear C.C. too much at the last con I went to. Or well made on my sewing machine but yes. A friend's mom designed and made the hood part but she also sewed it herself and I attached the ears and the erstwhile tail. It's so funny, the tail kept hitting my legs whenever I walked but I can't see it in any pictures o_O;
