The little old people across the street from us with too much time on their hands have tried to turn us into the Housin Code Enforcement Office. Again. ~.~ First they made trouble for us when our front door went, then when the grass got too long because we were away and now because we're trying to turn our front yard into an urban garden. ~.~ Seriously, it doesn't look bad. I don't get it. I'm seriously hoping there is nothing they can do about it but I don't trust the damn city. ~.~ I'm also worried they will bitch about the house no longer being stucco. God, sometimes I hate bureaucratic red tape like this. It serves no purpose. I also think my neighbors need a new hobby besides being assholes. ~.~

They're probably just jealous because you will have a nice garden. Honestly, neighbours like that need to learn when things are none of their business. What the hell's it got to do with them? It's your house - it's not like you're going to ruin it and drag the neighbourhood down with you! I hope they can't actually do anything about it and cause trouble for you! *crosses fingers*

I think it's going to be really nice, we have these lovely raised beds now with gravel walkways. I'm just worried about the city. I'm thankful to hear the architect got all the permits for the house and the siding though so we don't need to worry about that. I'm not sure if the fact it was just a business card and not a formal letter worries me more. >>;

My neighbors just are old and seriously have too much time on their hands. ~.~

That's just insane. We have a few front yard gardens on our street and they look fine. I mean, it's one thing if you have vicious dogs who bite the postman, or rusted-out old cars sitting all over the place, but a garden? Sheesh.

Right now it is a bunch of walled into spaces since we're building raised beds with gravel pathways between them so we can grow veggies in the front yard. Lawns are overrated >>;;

I seriously think they're just busybodies and don't like the fact that the yard is a bit of a mess while we wait for the gardeners to finish their work. It's a tad frustrating.

I'm hoping the city can't do anything. ~.~

*shakes head* Jeez, you'd think you were leaving an old car out to rot on the lawn or something. Busybodies. If your architect got everything all permitted, I can't see how you wouldn't be OK, unless these two have incriminating photos of the mayor or something.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! :D

You're welcome *hugs* I'm not attempting to make a weird dinner XD;

It is soooooooo frustrating, I'm hoping it is nothing serious. If it proves to be case I might try planting some seeds on Tuesday. :D

Play hardball. I assume there's a harassment process you can initiate with the city. Could backfire, but sometimes people like that need to be intimidated. Sorry you're having problems.

No, the problem is technically since they called the housing code people on us we now have to prove we're not in violation. ~.~ The prob is there is some sort of variance involving retaining walls so now we have to try and prove that we should be allowed to keep the walls.

Should everything fall through we are out a lot of money but I have a new plot for garden beds they would not be able to do anything about and which are much less attractive. so hah on them!
