Once again I've made a foray into the Debate section on DoA and have unintentionally managed to get the thread locked and a post deleted. (It's not my fault I was posting while Zagzagael was threatening to lock the thread, I didn't know she was doing that. ^^; )

For those who want to read I don't post until close to the halfway mark It's a debate on why some of us do not have a high regard or refuse to purchase Chinese made dolls and if there is a stigma attached to such dolls. I hate the way some posters expect us all to compromise and agree that as long as a doll is loved that is all that matters or that it is the owner's doll so who cares, why post to a debate thread if that is your opinion? But I tried to be polite and bring up interesting points as well as my personal issues with Chinese made BJDs. What gets me is people who make unsubstantiated statements and then get upset when someone calls them on it and isn't just comforting or agree with them. If they want agreement and a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, post on LJ not on a debate thread on DoA. Maybe when Doll Zone first started out there were people on DoA regularly making snide comments about Chinese BJDs but I think things have really died down except occasionally misconstrued comments in the debate thread and really if you can't state your actual opinion in a debate thread, I think there is a problem.

Unfortunately, sometimes the rudeness is because someone does not like you and has nothing to do with your dolls. Sometimes your photo stories and pictures are ignored because of you or the effort you've put in to your dolls and their pictures, not because of where your doll is from. There is real persecution out there, but looking for it where it might not actually exist is a little ridiculous, particularly in something like a hobby.

I feel irked because I don't think I said anything particularly mean or uncivil or any sort of personal attack. I DO feel bad for Karla-chan if she really thinks people are looking down on her and her friend's dolls all the time, because really where is the fun in owning your dolls then. I feel like if I am going to get called "mean" or "uncivil" or making a personal attack I want to have done so. I want to have said something snarky and funny and mean... like GirlWhoLived not just questioned whether or not there were actual facts to substantiate these allegations.
