Important baking notes I've learned in the last few weeks:

1 When making poundcake never add the butter last or you will get nasty little butter bits that do not blend into your flour.

2. When zesting lemons and lines, zest first, then cut open to juice.

3. A little cinnamon and nutmeg make most quick breads/muffins taste better.

4. For most recipes, large eggs are big enough.

5. If you're going to zest, make sure you own a zester.

I planted my new block today and transplanted one of my tomatoes to it. I've also decided to try growing some tomatoes in those little plastic seedling containers to eventually transfer to pots. I love tomatoes, but the only way i can give them the 6+ hours of sun they want is in pots, so I can move them.
