I wanna be a cowboy...

For those who don't know, I'm on vacation in Utah visiting my in-laws. I've been very lax about reading LJs cause I have satalite connection, which can be sort of wanky. Satalite is definitely better than dial-up but not as good as DSL.
I'm actually having a mostly good time, though if I get ribbed one more time about my fear of heights someone is going to get kicked. Personally, I don't really see what the plus is to hiking up to some trail with a great view, the view is plenty good on the ground, and after a while the great views all start looking the same. We spent the day in Zion, where I did the easier hikes but completely refused to do Angel's Landing, because I just know I can't do the part with the 4 foot wide trail with 1000 foot drop offs on either side and no guard rail. I didn't get to horseback ride, but next trip out here I am so going to make reservations ahead of time to learn to ride!
The nice thing about being in the southwest is cheap good southwest/tex-mex food. I actually really love burritos, enchiladas, and quesedillas and never have good luck finding them in NY. I also made pancakes for everyone one morning and have discovered that I'm not in true inaka cause there is a Starbucks and even a Coldstone Creamery. lol
The in-law's place is really quite lovely, very southwestern, and it blends into the hillside rather well so that it's hardly noticeable from a distance. It's very sleek and modern on the inside, though they've hung up all the Japanese woodblocks they've inherited from my step-grandfather-in-law which seem vaguely out of place in the setting. lol The shower is to die for and I am jealous of the kitchen. ;;_;;
Tomorrow, I get to fly back home via LAX which should be interesting. At least JFK/LAX leg has plugs under the seat so I can spend the whole trip using my laptop.
Returning to NY means almost time for my trip to Japan. I can't believe it's in less than 2 weeks O_O I feel like I have so much to do and this means I definitely won't be posting to eBay this week end. ^^;;; Gah, so much to sell. Fortunately, I am semi-together for this trip already and mostly just need to start organizing for December. I think Yuki my PF and Jinny my MSD girl will be taking the trip with me, assuming I can find room in my bags for Jinny. I have so much I need to print out, and must make pins! Seeing friends, Tenshi no Sato, Doll Show and Seed event <333 Do expect an upcoming list of for organizational help.
