Working == work rants

One of the biggest pluses of working is that now I can actually rant about work instead of just reading other people's lol

Unfortunately, the dictation is not ready yet and I was forced to use the hellbeast. It's somewhat disconcerting that everyone in the office save one person is better at using the typewriter than me, but since I am the secretary, I'm the one who is supposed to use it. *shakes small fist at the unjustice of it*

But my biggest problem at work was the "un"help desk I got to speak to today. I am currently working at a law office and found out rather by accident that I am expected to electronically file certain documents. It would be nice if I knew these things before the court calls up wondering why it hasn't been done. -.- So I went to the site to file it, but there of course was no simple button "to file documents" on the site so I called the "help" desk. I use this term very loosely because of what happened. lol The first person at the "help" desk promised someone would call me back, and they did. His suggestion, "Oh go into NYC we have free training for this!" Well, one, this needed to be filed now, not at some future date and two, I can't just waltz into free training, I'm needed at my office! lol He utterly refused to tell me anything about how to file because it was too complicated but finally gave me an on-line site to learn how to use the system. The on-line site was also rather useless as it consisted of little modules where one filed a fake document, rather than just answering questions or saying where one files a damn document on the site. I went back on the site and decided to try my luck on my own, and really, for the most part it was really obvious and did not take a long explanation or a lot of help. I had one or two things I wasn't sure of and it would have been nice to have had someone help me, but I did successfully file it. But gah! It put me in a bad mood. I so deserve my damn Pocket Fairy after this! lol
