Well, actually I'm a rat....

The silly interview meme courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] dilettantka

1. How did you meet Kennis?

Despite going to a really small college, I didn't meet him until Spring our Junior year. I knew of him though because he'd shared a triple with Jason and Lee his first year. (The best way to put this is, he was a straight non-incestuous Yuuta living with an in the closet Keigo and AkutsuxMizuki's lustchild, who happened to want to screw Keigo. (Which I guess makes sense since this is 'ore-sama')) I was rather good friends with Jason and had done some theatre work with Lee and so had wanted to meet the famous "normal" 3rd room mate. We met in the computer lab for a few brief minutes. At the time, I was madly after someone else and he was also sort of interested in another girl. We didn't meet again until the beginning of our senior year when we met in storage. (I love being able to say I found my husband in storage.) Once again, I talked to him about his infamous first year and was annoyed that he didn't offer to help me with my boxes. ^o^ This time we really started talking and two weeks later we were dating and the rest is history.... XD

2. When did you get into anime and why?

Much like dolls, I sort of always likes anime, took a long break and then came back. ^o^ When I was very little I use to watch dubbed "Battle Beyond the Planets." I didn't know it was Japanese at the time, but I remember thinking it was really cool that someone *DIED* in it. I then fell badly for Robotech and use to watch the dub of Nausicaa, 'Warriors of the Wind', which, for the record, does not *COMPARE* to CCS in terms of bad dubs. I also adored 'The Mysterious Cities of Gold' and use to doodle Tao, Esteban and Tzia in my school books. ^o^ In college I didn't really watch anime and didn't come back to it until I found dubbed Sailor Moon on Cartoon Network. Oddly enough that was about when I came back into doll collecting as well. ^o^ I've always really loved cartoons and I liked the fact that in anime there was an actual storyline. Actions also frequently have consequences. I just also think the Japanese generally do a better job with main characters. Probably my favorite US cartoon is Gargoyles ^_^

3. What's the strangest Yuuta pairing you've come up with? Describe... ^_^

*WANKAGE SPOILERS WILL FOLLOW*

Let's see, I have, of course, contemplated relatively normal things like SaekixYuuta and RyomaxYuuta and after finding the Japanese AtobexYuuta clique I thought about that as well. [livejournal.com profile] erjika got me to think about OhtorixYuuta, and I so regret not buying the doujinshi that actually *HAD* that pairing in it! RWT! has gotten me to think about WakatoxYuuta, AkutsuxYuuta, YagyuuxYuuta, and whether Yuuta is more seme or Kamio... A question I've also thought about in regards to Kaidoh. Due to weird fusions (Like PoT into WK), I've also thought about KiriharaxYuuta MomoxYuuta, TezukaxYuuta, and OshitarixYuuta. Though to me, probably the weirdest is between Hiragiizawa EriolxYuuta (Eriol is from CCS and in Wankage is a member of Borgia. He works with Fuji and at the moment, they're friends. It's one of the reasons all 3 of them share a Wank!LJ), ShuutaxYuuta (Shuuta in Wankbasa is the younger son of FujixYuuta. Shuuta has a bad crush on both his older brother and his 'Tou-san, though Fuji will be damned if he's going to let his son touch his husband/brother.) and finally Wank!ShuutaxRWT!Yuuta (Cause there is something so amusingly wrong about RWT!Yuuta being hit on by his 12 1/2 year old AU son. I mean they're almost the same age....and RWT!Yuuta has all the pluses of 'Tou-san and Yuusuke combined.)

4. What do you do on days when you're feeling down?

I do not generally log into AIM. Nothing makes me feel worse when I am down then being on-line generally because I find a lot of the people I'm friends with are just not really good at picking up my moods and I'm not always good about sharing. ^^;; A few times I've watched movies/TV shows with Kennis, I've called Ko a few times, I've tried writing and baking... in general though I try not to be down and when I feel a little down I try to swallow it and not let it get to me. I also find myself playing Spaceward Ho! It's sort of a strategy game where one takes over the universe. Sometimes, depending on what is causing it, I become a little mean spirited, and think to myself how much better off I am than than the people upsetting me. I've also been known to occasionally whine on AIM to friends, but I hate doing that, it always makes me feel incredibly guilty. ^^; I know in general my LJ seems very upbeat compared to some people's and I guess it's because I only feel so comfortable sharing my feelings. ^^;

5. Tell me a funny story about a trip to Japan, maybe something unexpected or some kind of cultural confusion.

OMG, there are so many. ^o^ I think I'll try and share 4 favorites from 2 of my much earlier trips. (I've gotten a little better with things the more I go.)

So my first trip to Japan, I was staying in a very cheap place in Kyoto. I got up early one morning to walk to the nearby river and there were these guys in sunglasses and suits standing around on the street. Being a NYer I thought to myself, "Wow, these guys look like mafiaoso!" But well, this was Japan.... so I pet their cute dog and told them in really bad Japanese that their dog was cute and then went on my way. I was later speaking to some friends of friends and it seems they really were yakuza XD Unbeknownst to me, the place I was staying was famous for being right near where some yakuza lived.

On my first trip to Japan, I got a *REALLY* nasty cold and I thought I was going to cough up a lung. But despite the cold, I kept trucking because I didn't know if I would ever go back to Japan at the time. One day, I did every Takara doll collector's dream and went to the Castle. (The Castle is a manufacturing plant for Takara dolls where they sell exclusive dolls and the front facade looks like a western style castle.) On my way back from the Castle, I ended up trying to talk to a nice middle-aged woman. My Japanese completely sucked (not that it's great now, but it was *EVEN WORSE* then) and I kept flipping through my dictionary. I thought we'd said our good byes when she showed up on the platform right before I was about to get on the shinkansen and she pushed a 5000 yen bill into my hands. I felt so embarrassed and touched and it's one reason I have such a great affection for the Japanese people.

On my 4th trip, [livejournal.com profile] cc_lemon and I were visiting Hiroshima. She'd overpacked and was trying to struggle with 3 enormous suitcases. While on the escalator, She lost control of one and it went tumbling down hitting me and heading straight towards a middle aged Japanese guy. I shouted "SUMIMASEN!" the guy looked up and got out of the way. When he reached the ground, he kicked the suitcase a few times and then went on his way. At the time I was terribly embarrassed, but now it just makes me laugh. ^o^

On my 4th trip, [livejournal.com profile] cc_lemon, [livejournal.com profile] biscuitbear and I went to visit a friend of [livejournal.com profile] biscuitbear's who the two of us had visited the year before. When we got there, they presented me with a neatly folded pair of clean underwear. It seemed on my last visit, somehow a pair of my underwear ended up under the kotatsu and I'd accidentally left them there. ^^;;;; I was so embarrassed and everyone else had a good laugh at my expense.

So if you would like me to answer 5 questions and/or would like me to ask you 5 questions, just leave a comment to that affect. ^o^

Actually, it was two and a laptop. It was the laptop that fell and thank goodness, it survived both the fall and the kicks. I think the guy said something resembling 'baka' too. I was horrified, and I jettisoned a bag and shipped things home the very next day. Ya live and learn.

I can't decide which of the Japan stories I like best... I think it's the businessman kicking the suitcases, ROFL!!!

I probably have at least one funny one per trip.... well maybe not the really short trip I did in Oct. ^^;;

But like all past things, it's funnier when it's not happening anymore. I love Japan so though. ^_^

O.O How did your underwear end up under the kotatsu?!

That's not an interview question, though.

1. What is it about Fujicest that makes you like it so much? I mean, why do you obsess over that couple instead of others?
2. What's your favorite band/singer?
3. What's your favorite food to cook?
4. What is your ideal dream home?
5. What country would you most like to visit besides Japan?

Yeah questions!

In all honesty, I have no idea how they got under the kotatsu! ^o^ I confess, that trip I had a fever during part of my stay and quite a few things are a bit blurry.

1. What is it about Fujicest that makes you like it so much? I mean, why do you obsess over that couple instead of others?

You know, I'm not sure why I adore Fujicest so much, I've never shipped an anime pairing so strongly before. (With most other series I'm quite easy going about pairings and will even enjoy contradictory ones, like SyaoranxSakura and EriolxSyaoran...)

Yuuta is my favorite character. He wasn't always, in fact when he first entered, I thought he was a mean jerk and felt bad for Ryoma. By the end of the Rudy's arc I felt terrible for Yuuta though!

For me, putting him with Fuji is the most obvious pairing for them both and I think Fuji really does love him. I enjoy the dynamic between them and I think there is just so much that is shared and left open within the anime and manga about their relationship. And both of them are just so obsessive! I feel like I can have lots of fun theorizing about their relationship. I also find it rather versatile...

2. What's your favorite band/singer?

Depeche Mode! Well, unless you want to count Tomita-san and Yuuta's character songs.... XD

3. What's your favorite food to cook?

This is a surprisingly hard question because I love to cook and bake! I adore making simple things like pizza, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. I also adore making soups. ^o^

I remember feeling really accomplished though after I made cream-puffs for 100. ^o^

4. What is your ideal dream home?

One with space for all my collections and which never gets dusty!

Actually, in all honesty, I'm really rather content with the home I have now. I'd like it a little larger and with a closets downstairs.... >.< but in general I'm quite content with it. I wouldn't want anything too large because it's a pain to clean!

And of course Kennis and the cats are here. ^o^

5. What country would you most like to visit besides Japan?

New Zealand! I want to see Rangitoto (and you too [livejournal.com profile] tintinalle!) When I was very young, I watched a TV show about New Zealand and ever since then I've wanted to go.

And 5 questions for you:
1) Do you have any brothers or sisters?
2) What is your favorite food?
3) Do you follow manga as well as anime or just one?
4) So what exactly do you do?
5) What do you regret most?
