Thank you everyone for all the get well wishes!!!

So while I ranted on LJ, my husband looked into whether we had been assigned a new primary care physician when the old doctor went off the plan. I should note now, I did plan to switch doctors as this doctor is a 15 minute drive from where we live and I know there are lots of doctors closer since we're only 1 mile from a hospital. (maybe less than a mile) and it seems stupid to drive so far just to see a doctor I was meh on to start with. (The old doctor doesn't seem to get the concept that being on your insurance plan is important. I could understand wanting the best doctor no matter what for say.. major surgery, cancer treatments, etc. but when it comes to things like a possible broken nose or a finger infection then ummm no, you just want someone on your plan. ~.~) So according to the insurance person, our new plan doesn't require a primary care physician so we can just go to anyone on the plan. Putting our addy in the system we picked the general practionier closest to where we live. lol (about 1/2 mile away) I called up and he was taking new people and let me come in that afternoon! I was really surprised because he was really nice, the nurses/receptionists working for him had a sense of humor and everyone was just so friendly. Plus he said I looked relatively healthy other than my cough <3 He examined my ears and said it had not developed into a full ear infection yet. I sort of figured that since I was only feeling discomfort rather than kill me now pain. But since I knew the week end was coming up, I didn't want to wait until Sunday to be in major pain. Rather than put me on antibiotics, the doctor put me on a prescription decongestant. This also won points with me because I hate taking antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. So now I have a new doctor, on my plan and only 1/2 mile from my house! <3

The pills do seem to be helping as the pain in my ear has decreased markedly and I'm definitely coughing less now.

When my sister went into NYC yesterday she bought me two cupcakes from Elenis! Cupcakes <3

In other happy news I got my imps from [livejournal.com profile] twotone. I'm so glad I got them before I ordered anything from Possets. So far I am liking Kate but Id has a weird sandalwood maybe overlaid with the chocolate that just makes it too perfumey and strong for me.

So... I'm thinking of going to Japan in February to attend a Geass event. Am I insane? Should I tell myself I can't go until I scan at least 200 doujinshi to sell? I'm also thinking of offering my buying services to pick up Geass doujinshi from the event. I need to think on it.

hehehe I keep forgetting to tell you, I was following random links the other day and found super cute sprites and the person doing them made Niou/Ryoma ones lol (She was really into Ryoma and had made sprites pairing him with all sorts of people though seriously the YuuRyo and the SanaRyo seemed more RyoSana and RyoYuu, which honestly is how the pairing would probably be. lol)

Here is the link (http://puni.daa.jp/teninew2.htm)

I admit, I was thinking of editing together the Yagyuu one and the Yuuta one to get my crack pairing lol The Yuuta one comes off as very uke cause Ryoma has to mack on him. There are some hilarious ones and some surprising pairings.

If you go through their sprites there are some other cute ones. I loved some of the FMA ones though the Geass ones are very meh.

Oh, those are SO cute!!

Awww, that would be cute if you edited them together, too~ XD Ahaha, I suppose Yuuta can be uke, but only in the right situations. XD;

I'll totally take a look at the other ones~ Thanks for linking me! :D

Nah, Yuuta is always uke XD;;

He's the one being all blushy and confused when Ryoma comes over for the kiss. lol I seriously think only Dan bottoms to Yuuta, or maybe Kaidoh, maybe.. XD;

Haha, well, the one time I played YuutaRyo in an RP, he wasn't quite uke. But then, he wasn't quite seme, either, I think. XD;

Ahaha. Well, at least he can top someone!

I find out about doujinshi events a couple ways, the really large ones are at Big Sight and are run through Comiket or Comic City usually. They're general events rather than series specific. A small Comic City is usually about 5000 dealers.

For smaller ones I either pick up free papers regarding them at larger events or I go to circles websites and see what events they're attending. For example there was a 25 dealer Nannally event.

The one I want to attend is this one. (http://www.akaboo.jp/zenkoku-r/r2/index.html) It' about 800 dealers.

Most of the non-big sight ones also allow cosplay which makes them a lot of fun. They also generally have exclusive fanmade goods. I'm a sucker for fanmade goods. :D

"25 dealer Nannally event" wow, it's just so bizarrely different from what we have here in the US. I wish we had more fan-supported things like that here.

what kind of fanmade goods do you mean?

a friend of mine went to a couple sakura taisen events, (cosplay-centric) it was really fun for her. :)

If I'd been the Yuuta he would have been really uke XD;;; I think in the series he is pretty uke though, ignoring RP characterizations. and also pretty asexual, he seems a little boyishly dense about such things lol

But yeah all the doujinshi I've ever seen for it is always RyoYuu. I have a few.

Hee~ Well, he was a rather angry Yuuta. ^^;; His life was difficult. D: He is kind of uke in the series, though, I agree. Haha, yes, but it's cute and we love him for it. :D Ryoma too, really~

Really~ I've only seen... one, though I think you might've scanned it. XD; If you ever feel in a scanning mood, I request some more! :D;

I think poor Yuuta's life is always a little difficult. I know I wouldn't want to be Yumiko and Syuusuke's little brother XD;

If I have some time I will scan them, I think a few of them were sort of short. One I think had cute art lol

Yeeeeah. Poor thing. I don't think I'd want to be related to them, either. ^^;;

:D Just if you ever get the chance~ I think I have one called Hamlet, but that's the only one I've ever seen. Cute art is awesome!

Oops, I was wrong it's 50 spaces (http://www.nunnally.jp/) for the Nannally event! While this is a specifically LuluSuzu (http://immoral.org.cn/) event which is also around 50 or so spaces.

If a series is hugely popular all main character (and pairings) will get their own events.

I actually semi-discussed why I don't think there are the same sorts of events here as in Japan with some writers from Wired magazine. I need to find their cards and write them another email at some point. I think fear of copyright issues is a major obstacle.

As for fan goods... the most common items are: postcards, pins and laminates. At bigger events you can find, or at least I've seen for Geass or other series: clear files, fans, canvas bags, glasses, mugs, stamps, stuffed dolls, posters, stationary, fan-made video games, and even things like clocks.

At the last Geass event I got a TF sized Ashford uniform and a pair of acrylic 15mm geass eyes. Some of the above list of items I already own for Geass. I ought to take a picture of some of my doujinshi goods. I bought a set of Seed and Geass glasses at one of the events I went to. The Seed one has Asuran, Kira and Lux on it and the Geass one is Lulu, Suzaku, and CC.

well, wired had a big feature on that a month or two ago. Yeah, the copyright thing is a major problem obviously. It's just too bad, though.

man, it'd be cool to get uniforms and a custom eye for the geass! :)

thanks for telling me more about it!

Glad you're feeling better and have found a good doctor! It's especially good that he didn't pressure you into taking antibiotics unnecessarily. :)

I'm glad the Possets scents arrived safely! I find that Possets can be really hit or miss... some of them are way too perfume-y for me, and those are usually the ones that I keep getting as free samples. :p

Yes, I know those were the two people I talked to and I am obliquely in the article. XD;;; I asked them not to use my name, but some of their information/references are actually me. lol I'm deathly jealous they met Clamp though. I ran into them at SCC.

The outfit isn't as well made as I would like but it's cute. I'll try to get a picture of my chibi Lulu (Yo SD Shin) in his geass eyes.

And you're welcome, events are a lot of fun. ^_^

Events? They're not. I'm sure the Nannally event is not. lol (Now, it is likely to have LuluNannally incest...) I'm sure there will be CC/Lelouch events for Geass. I just happen to often prefer slash pairings.

Comiket is most definitely not all BL and neither is Comic City. (Same with the upcoming Zenkoku event) However Comic Cities and Zenkokus are geared towards females so the het is generally consensual. You also find gag. Feel free to ask any other questions you might have, I'm always happy to do my best to help/answer. ^_^

Yeah I'm sort of amazed since we picked him based on his location. But his advice seems to be working, very day my ear hurts a little less and it doesn't feel as full.

So far, I really like Kate. I need to see how long it lasts. I like the way how the Girl's Love scents last but not in a way that is overpowering. I have an odd sense of smell, though it could be the medication.

But yes, I am so relieved about the doctor, and now I have one for the future. Maybe I will even get a physical now! :D

Thank you so much for the well wishes! *HUGS*

I'm glad things are finally looking up, health-wise! Especially having a doctor much closer, and one that is more to your liking.

So... I'm thinking of going to Japan in February to attend a Geass event. Am I insane?

Come now, do you want a serious answer to that question? Of course you're insane. All the best people are. ^_^ Seriously, if you're contemplating going in February to get even more doujinshi, then yeah, you probably are better off talking yourself into scanning some to sell first for a) financial reasons and b) storage reasons!

I got a cold right before the LA Dolpa and got progressively worse over the weekend. The flight back was hell, particularly since the landing jammed all the stuffiness into my ears, where it stayed, painfully, for the next week. I got better eventually, but at the time, I thought that I never would. I'm glad that your ears are improving each day.

Hm, it depends on the outfit and the doll. Josephine gowns are easy to size up or down. The Prince is more problematic with the fitted shirt and pants. Please email me with what you are interested in and I'll see what I can do.^_^

Josephine please, smaller please, I just got my MW Leila and while she is quite cute, she's an odd size. ;;_;; (Though she won't ever be involved in any photo shoots like the twins!) If you're willing, I can give you more info.

The pills the doctor gave me really help a lot. I'm rather amazed.

I imagine I could make one for her. I would need her height and the measurement under her arms, just above her bust. I've been planning to make them in Yo-SD size, so this would be a good chance to try something smaller.
