I also got to see
My mother made me a new hat. It's pink and pretty, and so girly. I hope to share pictures of it soon.
Anyway, I'm now friended to
Anyway, said post and the fact that I'm just a pain in the butt sometimes, has prompted this rant....
I started watching PoT in June 2002, at that time, I did not know really anything about the series or knew anyone else who was watching it. From relatively early one, I became a MomoRyo fangirl *shock, yes I know, everyone just thinks of me as Fujicest, but I started with MomoRyo* but I had no other pairing I shipped. From the start, I did not *SEE ANY TEZUFUJI* cause you know what, it's not there! It's so *SUBTLE* you need to be on crack to see evidence for it. It was completely created by fangirls who wanted to see pretty tennis boys fuck. Now, I have nothing against this, I feel that way about SengokuxMizuki and my new favorite Tezuka pairing, which I ship rather hard. (And *SHOCK* he is seme!) But there is *NO EVIDENCE* for TezuFuji, Tezuka and Fuji don't even GET ALONG WELL! And please, no whining from TezuFuji fans about how they're being oppressed. That is just so sad and pathetic, cause your fricking pairing is among the most popular pairings in the English fandom, so please get a life. I've mostly held my tongue, but I decided after a recent post to
Not only is TezuFuji a crack pairing that has no evidence, makes no sense in the context of the series, and just completely sucks... But I wish TezuFuji fans could spend a few seconds to think about what they're saying and engage their brains. (Which I know is a challenge for some of them.) I mean, I hate TezuFuji, and so, *shock* I do not write it. I do not try drawing it. If you do not like a pairing, don't draw it and then denigrate the pairing. I mean really, didn't your families teach you any manners or at the very least some common sense or courtesy. Also, while I'm on this, Tezufuji fans seem to think they're some sort of born-again Christian sect, and need to constantly share their devotion to the pairing. Leaving a comment on a fic, that has nothing to do with Tezuka or Fuji, on how much you love TezuFuji makes you look brain dead. Think about this in the future.
And cause I'm still feeeling bitchy...
Yes, there is evidence for MizukiYuuta, I'm not going to pretend there isn't. But if you're going to claim it's true love, and Mizuki really cares about Yuuta, I have to ask you, did you watch episode 36??????? I mean, I'm not even going to go into the manga, where Mizuki SAYS "It was really easy to manipulate the stupid younger brother who only thought about his older brother." since most English speaking fangirls seem to ignore the manga. Mizuki does not try to get Yuuta to join St. Rudy's for Yuuta' "best" interest. Mizuki *MANIPULATES* a naive 12 year old boy because he can. Mizuki *TEACHES* Yuuta a tennis move that could *SERIOUSLY* INJURE him and does not *CARE* so long as the team wins! He does not WARN Yuuta of the dangers and let Yuuta decide, noooooooooo, he just takes advantage of a 12 year old boy. It's an abuse of power and trust. Mizuki *IS* the most evil character we see in PoT. While Keigo might try to ruin Tezuka's arm, Tezuka is not on Keigo's *TEAM.* Keigo does NOT have a responsibility to look after Tezuka's best interests. Keigo is also not practically 2 years older than Tezuka. (And yes, the age difference between Mizuki and Yuuta is almost that large.) Yuuta does not show any sort of interest, romantic or otherwise, in Mizuki, after he loses to Ryoma. Yuuta seems horrified, in the anime-only part of 40, where Mizuki promises to help Yuuta train, and in 71, Yuuta leaves Mizuki and Yanagisawa's company to seek out Ryoma *AS SOON AS THEY SEE THE OTHER BOYS*
As for Yuuta being seme to Mizuki....
All I have to say is, you enjoy your nice little crack, I have no idea where you found it, but you're on crack.
And these rants were brought to you by the letters X, Q and Y

Date: 2004-01-17 11:54 pm (UTC)I did try finding references - although I probably didn't look hard enough - and didn't stumble over a thread that could shed light. Though I suppose lack of stuff (art, fanfics, discussion, etc) for someone's favored pairing might be rage-inducing. The appropriate thread might have scrolled off since there is a dozen or so posts a day.
Yes, you were personally insulted by that person up there. There's no question about that.
Though the original rant wasn't a personal attack, it is still an attack as you've said. Calling someone a six year-old valley girl and directly calling a group of fans stupid are both not exactly stellar things. What I'm trying to get at is, if rafterpeace is in the wrong, can't rkold's comments also be held accountable - at least, partially?
Personal attacks are easier to defend against; sweeping stereotypes on a group, are a little more difficult. There are likely an amount of people who somehow fit in some small way into rkold's generalizations, but there are still many coherent reasonable individuals who just simply find enjoyment in a particular pairing or anime or book or movie or genre.
Say if you were a fan of Prince of Tennis (which I've assumed you are). And someone, rather harshly, and cleary ranting to vent some pent-up aggression, calls you - the fans - idiots, and that the show is nothing but tennis and oh dear God how can you even work slash into something so innocent as tennis? Or, to see slash in this series at all goes against the creator's wishes, because if it didn't, he would have drawn them in that way? Why, the only canon relationship is Sakuno and Ryoma, they would say, and the show is boring and has no real plot.
Things you might have seen before, surfing through the internet. It could make a fangirl's blood boil. ("Tennis Ball Z" as I've heard it being called, though rather affectionately.)
I understand that I am intruding upon another person's journal. And I don't belong. But I wanted to say I disagree on her assessment.

Date: 2004-01-18 12:18 am (UTC)I'm not upset I don't have Fujicest stuff because I have a lot. I have more than I probably should. ^^;;; The post that set me off was a bit like the straw that broke the camel's back. If you are curious, it can be found on
If someone wants to rant in their LJ or blog about how much they hate Fujicest, good for them. I won't read it or respond, and we're both happy.
Yes, I was bitchy, but I can be in my LJ. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head and forcing them to read what I write.

Date: 2004-01-18 01:50 am (UTC)Why are you apologizing? You've made these persons' day by giving them something else to expel venom over.
I had thought since this was my livejournal that I could say whatever I wanted in it. I put my rants under LJ cuts and sort of assumed people who are not on my friends list who I do not know at all would not read them.
An interesting assumption, unless you make your journal friends-only. You might consider it. Yes, this is your journal and you're free to say whatever you want, but if people can find your rants (as I and others obviously have) and are able to make comments on them, you should accept that as we should accept your rants. You can remove this possibility if you want, and ensure that the only comments you see are supportive and/or obsequious.
Those aren't personal attacks. The operative word is "personal", which means "directed at one particular person"
Actually, a personal attack is one that is aimed at character ("...engage their brains. (Which I know is a challenge for some of them.)") rather than an objective subject ("...TezuFuji a crack pairing that has no evidence, makes no sense in the context of the series, and just completely sucks"). I can aim a personal attack at an entire fandom, without knowing or caring about anyone's names. Also note that my use of the word "objective" rather tongue-in-cheek. I find that particular statement of Rachel's incredibly amusing.
In case you're wondering why I'm responding to this, when I'm very clearly not on Rachel's friend list, it's because I'm a big fan of TeniPuri, and I think it's sad that some of the most public fans of the series are so negative and cliquish. But once again, people who make inflammatory comments like "just completely sucks" in public (yes dear, even behind the Impenetrable Wall of Cut it's still public) desire the "flames" they get in return.

Date: 2004-01-18 01:29 am (UTC)I can definitely say that the problem that sets people off on anti-ZukaFuji rants is not a LACK of stuff, but that there is FAR TOO MUCH of it. You can't go 5 minutes in the TeniPuri fandom without running into ZukaFuji, which is utterly ridiculous, considering that until episode 115 of the anime, there were absolutely no hints for the pairing. I hope you can see how dealing with this day after day can make even the most mild-mannered fangirl snap from time to time.
I guess it is a difference of opinion, but I do not see a problem with attacking general groups of people, provided said people are in said group by choice. Perhaps it's because, as a Christian, I belong to one of the most frequently and publicly attacked groups around, and I've just grown to consider it as the type of annoying crap that happens when you affiliate yourself with other people. Conversely, you of course have every right to disagree with her, though I hope that you would do so respectfully, as this is her journal, and you came here looking for this rant.
However! Don't you dare say that Ryoma/Sakuno approaches anything near canon status! *giggles* And if you think the slash goes against Konomi's wishes, you really need to see and read more. *shoves the manga and anime at Dian*
Mmm, Snake Juice.
Date: 2004-01-18 01:46 am (UTC)Um um um o___o;;; Maybe you misunderstood, but I already do fully support slash and yaoi in PoT. :D Though if I were asked, InuiKai would be my OTP for this series.
Re: Mmm, Snake Juice.
Date: 2004-01-18 02:14 am (UTC)*also luvs the InuKai*
