My mother made me a new hat. It's pink and pretty, and so girly. I hope to share pictures of it soon.

Anyway, said post and the fact that I'm just a pain in the butt sometimes, has prompted this rant....
I started watching PoT in June 2002, at that time, I did not know really anything about the series or knew anyone else who was watching it. From relatively early one, I became a MomoRyo fangirl *shock, yes I know, everyone just thinks of me as Fujicest, but I started with MomoRyo* but I had no other pairing I shipped. From the start, I did not *SEE ANY TEZUFUJI* cause you know what, it's not there! It's so *SUBTLE* you need to be on crack to see evidence for it. It was completely created by fangirls who wanted to see pretty tennis boys fuck. Now, I have nothing against this, I feel that way about SengokuxMizuki and my new favorite Tezuka pairing, which I ship rather hard. (And *SHOCK* he is seme!) But there is *NO EVIDENCE* for TezuFuji, Tezuka and Fuji don't even GET ALONG WELL! And please, no whining from TezuFuji fans about how they're being oppressed. That is just so sad and pathetic, cause your fricking pairing is among the most popular pairings in the English fandom, so please get a life. I've mostly held my tongue, but I decided after a recent post to
Not only is TezuFuji a crack pairing that has no evidence, makes no sense in the context of the series, and just completely sucks... But I wish TezuFuji fans could spend a few seconds to think about what they're saying and engage their brains. (Which I know is a challenge for some of them.) I mean, I hate TezuFuji, and so, *shock* I do not write it. I do not try drawing it. If you do not like a pairing, don't draw it and then denigrate the pairing. I mean really, didn't your families teach you any manners or at the very least some common sense or courtesy. Also, while I'm on this, Tezufuji fans seem to think they're some sort of born-again Christian sect, and need to constantly share their devotion to the pairing. Leaving a comment on a fic, that has nothing to do with Tezuka or Fuji, on how much you love TezuFuji makes you look brain dead. Think about this in the future.
And cause I'm still feeeling bitchy...
Yes, there is evidence for MizukiYuuta, I'm not going to pretend there isn't. But if you're going to claim it's true love, and Mizuki really cares about Yuuta, I have to ask you, did you watch episode 36??????? I mean, I'm not even going to go into the manga, where Mizuki SAYS "It was really easy to manipulate the stupid younger brother who only thought about his older brother." since most English speaking fangirls seem to ignore the manga. Mizuki does not try to get Yuuta to join St. Rudy's for Yuuta' "best" interest. Mizuki *MANIPULATES* a naive 12 year old boy because he can. Mizuki *TEACHES* Yuuta a tennis move that could *SERIOUSLY* INJURE him and does not *CARE* so long as the team wins! He does not WARN Yuuta of the dangers and let Yuuta decide, noooooooooo, he just takes advantage of a 12 year old boy. It's an abuse of power and trust. Mizuki *IS* the most evil character we see in PoT. While Keigo might try to ruin Tezuka's arm, Tezuka is not on Keigo's *TEAM.* Keigo does NOT have a responsibility to look after Tezuka's best interests. Keigo is also not practically 2 years older than Tezuka. (And yes, the age difference between Mizuki and Yuuta is almost that large.) Yuuta does not show any sort of interest, romantic or otherwise, in Mizuki, after he loses to Ryoma. Yuuta seems horrified, in the anime-only part of 40, where Mizuki promises to help Yuuta train, and in 71, Yuuta leaves Mizuki and Yanagisawa's company to seek out Ryoma *AS SOON AS THEY SEE THE OTHER BOYS*
As for Yuuta being seme to Mizuki....
All I have to say is, you enjoy your nice little crack, I have no idea where you found it, but you're on crack.
And these rants were brought to you by the letters X, Q and Y

Date: 2004-01-17 09:45 am (UTC)I understand the point you made about Mizuki, and I can see your point of view. It would take time, thought and careful groundwork to overcome that, with no guarantee of success, definitely.
I think what caught my attention was your apparent outrage at Mizuki's behavior and the age/relative innocence of Yuuta. In addition to the 'abuse of power and trust' therein.
The reason that gave me pause is this (http://www.livejournal.com/users/rkold/17413.html?thread=96261#t96261). I realize that this is not an event that actually occurs in canon, and is simply something you have proposed as a possibility. However, it seems to me that this would make a loving relationship between Syusuke and Yuuta as unlikely as one between Mizuki and Yuuta.
For the sake of argument, and since you are the one arguing and believe the aforementioned to be true, let's examine this.
Yuuta's scar doesn't appear to be new. I'd say it has probably been several years since he got it. So... let's put his age at about 8. Now, a scratch would not have left such a prominent scar. We're likely talking about a pretty deep cut. The lines appear to be clean, so the implement would have been sharp.
That leaves us with the situation as follows. 9 year old Syusuke premeditatively obtains a weapon, possibly a utility knife, an x-acto knife or similar. Approaches his eight year old brother with the intention of cutting him open. I can't think of any 8 year-old that would sit still for that, so now we're introducing the fact that Syusuke probably would have had to restrain him or hold him down. He slices into Yuuta's skin, keeping in mind that the cuts have to be deep to properly mark him. I'm sure it hurts, and given how profusely that area bleeds, the likelihood is great that there is blood pouring down Yuuta's face, stinging his eyes. If Yuuta's struggling at all, which I'm sure he is by this point, Syusuke could easily put his eye out or rip his scalp open. I imagine the wound would need stitches, which is nothing but another trauma for Yuuta to go through. Possibly as many as 15 or 20 of them. Not to mention the necessity of likely being threatened or cajoled by Syusuke into not revealing the truth of how he was injured.
So now he's marked, with a reminder that his brother, the person who is supposed to take care of him, held him down and maimed him against his will. And he sees that everytime he looks in the mirror.
Which is the greater betrayal? The more heinous abuse of power and trust? I'm thinking Mizuki is looking fairly tame at this point. At the very least, it's no less plausible for Yuuta to have a loving relationship with Mizuki than it would be for him to have one with Syusuke. The burden of guilt on both potential partners is the same, and that's not even considering the fact that Syusuke is his brother.
Of course, I'm of the opinion that Yuuta has Mizuki's number, lets him have his 12 seconds of seme and then puts him on his floral-clad back with his legs in the air. So what do I know, really? ^_~

I'm sorry you took that post seriously
Date: 2004-01-18 12:04 am (UTC)According to 20.5, we now have an official response from Yuuta about his scar. He was asked how he got it, and responded that he has had it for as long as he can remember, and has no idea how he got it. He's pretty sure that his brother was not involved.
Re: I'm sorry you took that post seriously
Date: 2004-01-18 12:48 am (UTC)Interesting, because that's not the only place that I've seen you say that. I suppose it must be a joke that you're very fond of. But do forgive me if I was mistaken.
Nonetheless, by the allusion to Seishirou and Subaru alone, which even supporters of that pairing admit is a less than healthy relationship, the comparison still stands.
Re: I'm sorry you took that post seriously
Date: 2004-01-18 01:47 am (UTC)The joke also partially comes from a rather wrong PoT/X fusion. That too was done as a joke.
I'm really sorry, you took my stupid joke, as a serious supposition on how Yuuta got his scar.
I don't seriously think Fuji is a sociopathic assasin, just an at times self-centered boy.
In all honesty, if you're curious to see how I seriously thought Yuuta got his scar, (before the release of 20.5) you're welcome to read my one fan-fic on the subject. ^^
