sumeragiskank is visiting me, so I have not been on-line much. I tried to make some time to work on the new penal-tea update which should go up sometime tomorrow and we're still arguing about the fanart contest. ^o^I also got to see
kosquarepelli and I would highly recommend checking out her amazing piccies of WK/PoT. I'm sure no one is surprised to know I adore the way Omi/Yuuta looks.My mother made me a new hat. It's pink and pretty, and so girly. I hope to share pictures of it soon.

tenipuri_yaoi.Anyway, said post and the fact that I'm just a pain in the butt sometimes, has prompted this rant....
I started watching PoT in June 2002, at that time, I did not know really anything about the series or knew anyone else who was watching it. From relatively early one, I became a MomoRyo fangirl *shock, yes I know, everyone just thinks of me as Fujicest, but I started with MomoRyo* but I had no other pairing I shipped. From the start, I did not *SEE ANY TEZUFUJI* cause you know what, it's not there! It's so *SUBTLE* you need to be on crack to see evidence for it. It was completely created by fangirls who wanted to see pretty tennis boys fuck. Now, I have nothing against this, I feel that way about SengokuxMizuki and my new favorite Tezuka pairing, which I ship rather hard. (And *SHOCK* he is seme!) But there is *NO EVIDENCE* for TezuFuji, Tezuka and Fuji don't even GET ALONG WELL! And please, no whining from TezuFuji fans about how they're being oppressed. That is just so sad and pathetic, cause your fricking pairing is among the most popular pairings in the English fandom, so please get a life. I've mostly held my tongue, but I decided after a recent post to
tenipuri_yaoi and the fact I was feeling bitchy, that I was not going to be completely silent anymore. Not only is TezuFuji a crack pairing that has no evidence, makes no sense in the context of the series, and just completely sucks... But I wish TezuFuji fans could spend a few seconds to think about what they're saying and engage their brains. (Which I know is a challenge for some of them.) I mean, I hate TezuFuji, and so, *shock* I do not write it. I do not try drawing it. If you do not like a pairing, don't draw it and then denigrate the pairing. I mean really, didn't your families teach you any manners or at the very least some common sense or courtesy. Also, while I'm on this, Tezufuji fans seem to think they're some sort of born-again Christian sect, and need to constantly share their devotion to the pairing. Leaving a comment on a fic, that has nothing to do with Tezuka or Fuji, on how much you love TezuFuji makes you look brain dead. Think about this in the future.
And cause I'm still feeeling bitchy...
Yes, there is evidence for MizukiYuuta, I'm not going to pretend there isn't. But if you're going to claim it's true love, and Mizuki really cares about Yuuta, I have to ask you, did you watch episode 36??????? I mean, I'm not even going to go into the manga, where Mizuki SAYS "It was really easy to manipulate the stupid younger brother who only thought about his older brother." since most English speaking fangirls seem to ignore the manga. Mizuki does not try to get Yuuta to join St. Rudy's for Yuuta' "best" interest. Mizuki *MANIPULATES* a naive 12 year old boy because he can. Mizuki *TEACHES* Yuuta a tennis move that could *SERIOUSLY* INJURE him and does not *CARE* so long as the team wins! He does not WARN Yuuta of the dangers and let Yuuta decide, noooooooooo, he just takes advantage of a 12 year old boy. It's an abuse of power and trust. Mizuki *IS* the most evil character we see in PoT. While Keigo might try to ruin Tezuka's arm, Tezuka is not on Keigo's *TEAM.* Keigo does NOT have a responsibility to look after Tezuka's best interests. Keigo is also not practically 2 years older than Tezuka. (And yes, the age difference between Mizuki and Yuuta is almost that large.) Yuuta does not show any sort of interest, romantic or otherwise, in Mizuki, after he loses to Ryoma. Yuuta seems horrified, in the anime-only part of 40, where Mizuki promises to help Yuuta train, and in 71, Yuuta leaves Mizuki and Yanagisawa's company to seek out Ryoma *AS SOON AS THEY SEE THE OTHER BOYS*
As for Yuuta being seme to Mizuki....
All I have to say is, you enjoy your nice little crack, I have no idea where you found it, but you're on crack.

Date: 2004-01-17 09:03 am (UTC)So Mizuki is the worst, most evil character in the PoT-verse, yes? I think that's only half of the truth, actually ^^. Wheras it is obvious that he's manipulative, deceitful and unscrupulous, he is also hard-working and - surprise - vulnerable. No, I'm not saying he's an oh-so-nice-person-who-is-only-misunderstood, but I find it kinda cute how he's struggling to be admired and in control (or read: to be seme), but I mean, he's failing totally ^^. Even the Kisarazu twins (though Atsushi might have just waited for a chance to escape his brother's shadow, just like Yuuta) already out-smarted him, and Yuuta - well, it's sure that he had been beguiled, but even after he found out the truth, he forgives and still respects Mizuki on his own account, although he won't follow orders from him again. (There goes Mizuki's seme-ness XD).
It's certainly true that Mizuki -did- not care a shit about Yuuta before. But I think, the most interesting part of YuutaMizuki starts after the turning point that is their match with Seigaku. Well, as much as I hate to, I just have to quote from Hana's fic ^^:
"There was a point in time when he would have likened Yuuta-kun to a dog: loyal, friendly, obedient. Trainable. But, that was before. [...] Before Yuuta had learned the truth about the twist spin shot. Before he [Mizuki] had seen everything he'd worked for at St Rudolph's spiral out of control and suck him down into its whirlpool maw. Before the hand reaching down to pull him out of the mess he created for himself held a cross-shaped scar and eyes of forgiveness on its other end. No, Yuuta was no one's dog."
So, this might have been a start. Not necessarily of course, but isn't fandom about imagining how it could be? And for YuutaMizuki I think, the conditions aren't that bad ^^.
Ah, and about the crack of eps 40 XD... I found it extremely amusing, but crack-filler scenes are not a basis I would build an OTP pairing on ^^. Though I don't think Yuuta looked plain disgusted then - every teenage boy would be a little shocked at such a proposition, ne? And didn't he also look just as flustered when Fuji asked him on a date? Hehe, Yuuta's expressions are sure cute to watch ^^, wouldn't you just also love to try and get him flustered?
And don't get me wrong - I still like and can gush over the sweet interaction between Yuuta and Fuji, but I don't believe it could work out in a romantic relationship =/... but that's just me being a diehard TakaFuji fangirl =P. After all, Yuuta and Taka-san aren't that different in their basic personlalities either ^^;;.
Hn, I guess that's all *sweatdrop*. If you actually read until here, you get a cookie =D. And I hope the PoT fandom is tolerant enough so that different pairings can be tolerated (hey, I even got converted to acept TezuFuji as a possibility >_>;;) and coexist peacefully ^^.

Date: 2004-01-17 11:58 pm (UTC)Actually, if you're going by the manga, Yuuta never finds out that Mizuki was using him. Thus, he can't forgive him. I do appreciate though, someone finally explaining to me how this pairing would actually work.
As for fics, I too enjoy well written fics, and in fact, one of my favourites is a Fushigi Yuugi fic that is NakagoxMiaka. It made me completely ship the couple, though I know in my heart it is a crack pairing. It took a lot of work and development to make it happen and in the end seem completely believable to me.
Personally, my favourite Mizuki pairing is SengokuxMizuki, which is of course a crack pairing. I don't think I should dictate what pairings you like, but I have the right as well in my livejournal to post my feelings on pairings as well. I do not ask anyone to read what I write, which is why I put my rants behind a LJ cut stating exactly what they were, so those who didn't want to read could ignore it.
And yes, Yuuta does look adorable when he is flustered. XD

But that would mean *ponders*, Yuuta was actually never looking horrified, not with Mizuki, nor with Fuji in the date stuff then :x...? Ack, Konomi needs to involve Yuuta more - he did win against Atobe in the second popularity poll, after all! >(
Unfortunately, there were no fics or fanart around at the beginning, so we had to be productive ourselves - or convince other ficwriters and artists of the potential this pairing has ^^. Additionally I have many reasons to be just absorbed in my Yummi (YUtaMIzuki), one being me playing Mizuki in a RP with an adorable boyish seme Yuuta ^^. Ah and btw, I fell in love with Yummi just at the same time I fell for (uke) Ishida-chama XD, so that might explain why I like this pairing specifically this way round XD.
Sengoku and Mizuki?? XD Apart from the fact that Sengoku works with ANYone (me loves Sengoku/Minami, btw)... hn, two bitches assembled?
Ah, I read the cut stuff because I wanted to point out that I have seen ep. 36 (even multiple times <=*Rudy's love*) and still think it would work out XD. It's sad that TeniPuri fandom seems to be falling apart, because different fandoms are not communicating but only raging and bashing each other "privately" =/ . We fans should try to understand and accept (or if it's too off...just ignore) each other's differences (gah, I sound like some priest >_>), but after all, TeniPuri lives from its...variety >3 (*cough*orgy*cough*).
