more doll problems
Nov. 29th, 2007 06:50 pmSo it looks like I am going to be making a negative transaction thread regarding Grace and her Ethereal Angel Eye Candies unless she actually covers the shipping back to her.
At the end of July I paid Grace for 2 pairs of Ethereal Angels Eye Candied. A pair of Sunrise eyes in 14mm with pupils the older smaller size of the Nostalgia eyes I had bought from her earlier and a pair of 14mm Wisteria eyes with the new current default larger pupils. The order was supposed to take 8 weeks or so meaning I would have them sometime in September. I waited patiently. In September Grace updated to say there were some problems and some of the eyes needed to be sent back and things would be shipping soon as the eyes were received.
On October 6, I received notice that my eyes were shipping. I was of course in Japan at this time.
When I came home from Japan and then Utah I opened my eyes and was shocked to see they looked like this:

These pupils are OBVIOUSLY too small.
On November 4, I wrote to Grace alerting her to the fact I wanted a refund because the eyes were all wrong.
On November 5, she wrote back saying she could not issue a refund since materials had already been used and if I sent the eyes back to her she would have a new pair made if she deemed there to be a flaw.
Fair enough, except since I'd gotten another pair of eyes I liked more in the wait for these, I wasn't about to spend another $5 or more to ship them back to Grace which would only be a bigger loss when I went to sell the correct pair. Cookie had some vet trips, the house had a lot of work and I didn't get a chance to take ay pictures until yesterday.
I wrote the following to Grace and included the following pictures:
Dear Grace,
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back in touch with you, I am having massive amounts of work done on my house and one of my cats had some vet issues.
While I appreciate that labors and materials have already gone into the product, I don't think I should have to cover the cost of mailing the eyes back to you nor waiting 2-3 months for a new pair of hopefully correct eyes to be made with nothing in my possession as I've already paid for the eyes as well.
I'm attaching a picture of the eyes where the flaw is quite obvious. I had asked for pupils the same size as the older default eyes I bought from you for my twins. It is beyond obvious that these pupils are not the same size as those and are much smaller.
If you can not issue a refund, I request that once you have my new corrected pair of eyes you let me know and then I will mail back these flawed ones and you can mail me the corrected ones at the same time.

Last night while I was sleeping, I received the following response from Grace:
Hello Rachel
I will make the replacement eyes and let you know when it is finished. You can keep those eyes that was not correct or do whatever you please with them.
Please know that I was not planning on making you shoulder the cost of shipping the eyes back to me.

I have just now noticed that the title of the pictures you attached of the 14mm Sunrise eyes are titled :

Were you already selling the incorrect eyes even before you emailed me last night? Because of this, I will not remake the replacement 14mm Sunrise Gumdrops until you mail back the ones with the smaller pupils.
After you have mailed them back to me, then I will remake and send the replacement and refund you for your shipping. Otherwise I can not help you.

First of all WTF. In the the first email she said I could do whatever I wanted with them, now suddenly I can't?!?! Again, I have not posted nor tried to sell these eyes anywhere, but suddenly the fact I COULD is an issue. These eyes are seriously messed up!

I have to have the incorrect eyes within 10 days from the date of this email. All sales are final so refund is not an option.

When I receive the correct pair I do plan to sell them, but I am not selling the current pair.
I paid to have the correct eyes sent to me, I did not pay for you to send me eyes with OBVIOUSLY wrong pupils. I am not going to spend more money out of pocket to give you the wrong eyes and then wait 3-4 months with nothing. That is completely ridiculous. I still don't know how you managed to send such obviously wrong eyes out to me when you said you had checked over all the eyes before sending them out and this was the reason they had taken so long.
Again, the eyes are obviously wrong. I am not sending them back to you until you have the correct eyes or YOU pay for the eyes to be shipped back.
This is completely absurd.

However you MUST pay for shipping back to you.
Again it is absurd for me to have to spend more money when YOU are the one who sent obviously DEFECTIVE eyes. The eyes are currently being stored in their bottle wrapped in tissue paper as they arrived here.
If you refuse to either replace the eyes without receiving them back OR to send me money to cover shipping the eyes back to you and then replace them, I will be forced to start a negative transaction thread on DoA.

This is completely INSANE. I could name the file "Grace SUCKS" if I wanted to. These eyes are not currently for sale. I admit, I didn't expect Grace to be willing to cover shipping or to make me the correct eyes and wanted to be prepared because again, since I know I had to sell my last pair of correct gumdrops at a loss, no way these won't be. But these eyes are not currently for sale. The only Urethane eyes I am selling are the ED 14mms which I am waiting for payment to clear on.
So I am expected to ship her the wrong eyes and hope she then decides to reimburse me after her complete reversal from her previous email?!?!? Why the hell should I take her at her word I will ever receive a refund. These eyes are flawed and this is NOT a flaw I could have made myself. There is nothing I could have done to make those pupils pinpricks.

And the most amazing thing is I've not even tried to sell these eyes at all, this is all just based on how I named a file.

Personally, I think ED eyes are nicer. Gumdrops scratch much easier and ED looks more like glass.

The complete 180 in telling you what you can or can't do with the eyes based on a name file is ridiculous! *If* they were listed for sale when you contacted her, I can see her being upset. But as they are NOT, it's really nothing she can or should get upset about.
Also, I think it's rather upsetting she didn't tell you she'd cover the shipping in the first place. Why wouldn't she? I would hope she is not the type of seller who won't cover the shipping unless someone says something about it (which I also think is crap).
Anyways! I will be looking for the resolution to this as it will heavily impact if I order from her or not.
