This is a picture of Nutmeg.

On October 5th around 4:00 p.m. on the advice of our Vet Nutmeg was put to sleep. I honestly never thought I would hate being in Japan as much as I do this trip. I had thought no trip could be as bad as the one I took Golden Week 2005, but I was wrong. Nutmeg was a really good cat. She liked chewing on plastic bags and snuggling with the other two cats. She also loved to get into the sink when she wasn't supposed to and lick the knives. She loved yogurt, and often tried to steal it from me. When we adopted her in 1996, she was a tiny kitten and refused to eat, she just suckled her brother Basil. I was so worried about her.

And to make this trip ever more shitty, United lost my suitcase and can't seem to find it anywhere. They have it being scanned at SFO and then it just vanished.

And then to make this trip even shittier the Tenshi no Sato event was a complete bust. If anyone dares to email or posts in my LJ in connection with asking me why it sucked and asking me about any of the items or dolls their messages/comments will summarily be deleted and they will be unfriended.

Rachel, I'm sorry. Nutmeg seemed so healthy last weekend. She was part of what made the trip so fun (even when she trying to get in the sink and do other bad cat stuff) because she really was a friendly, snuggly cat. I loved that deep meow of hers, which almost seemed too deep for her given her size. (You'd expect it more out of Cookie, you know?). I'm really going to miss her. The house won't be the same without Nutmeg. You and Kennis and Basil and Cookie have my sympathies.

I'm so sorry to hear about Nutmeg - it's so hard when you have to be away from your loved pets when on a trip... my fiance's grandparents' dog Barney passed away on their last trip to Las Vegas. They put him in the pound because he was sick and we couldn't care for him. We had a hard time telling them because they had their reservations about leaving him in a strange place away from home, even for such a short time. T_T

I hope your things turn up~ I'm so sad that this much anticipated trip turned upside-down. ;;__;;
