Well, I managed to finish nearly everything on the list which means that Penal-tea is now up and there are even a few new doujinshi to download. ^o^ The big thing I haven't done yet is Osaka reservations but I'm going to call as soon as I am done posting this. ^o^

I had an amusing dinner with my parents tonight. My mother was talking about a special she saw on earthquakes and Japan...
Rachel's Mom: And so Tokyo is just waiting for the next big one.
Rachel's Husband: That's true of a lot of places.
Rachel: Yeah, like San Francisco.
Rachel's Father: Shhh!
Rachel's Mother: Why must my children go to earthquakish areas.
Rachel: The term is seismically active.
Rachel's Dad: Is that the PC term? Are there like people who fight for the earth and get upset if you don't use the correct terminology?
Rachel: Yes, they're called the "Dragons of Earth."

And yes, if that doesn't prove to you I am easily amused nothing will. ^o^

Anyway, in what is probably a vain attempt to get me to work on my Fujicest fic, I'm going to post a tiny snippet here as maybe putting some of it out in public will be the kick I need. ^^ I do want to try and get the first chapter ready for public consumption, maybe I will work on it in Japan....BTW if Fujicest squicks you *DO NOT READ* It's silly to read something you hate and then complain about it later, honestly.

*******

A chagrined deliveryman with a bouquet of flowers knocked on the door of classroom 8B. Asaoka-sensei, allowed him to enter and the class was now mostly silent, waiting to see who the lucky person was who’d been sent such an enormous bouquet. While deliveries during class were generally considered extravagant and disruptive, there had been several on Valentine’s Day and White Day. However, both those holidays were far in the future and it seemed odd for someone to be receiving flowers in the summer. The class held its respective breath waiting for an answer to the mystery.

“Fuji Yuuta-kun,” called Asaoka-sensei, trying not to giggle.

Kayama Licca and her best friend Sato Izumi were far less successful than their teacher.

Yuuta stood up and moved to the front of the class, a pained and frustrated expression on his face. When he’d looked up from the lesson to see a deliveryman with flowers he’d had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

“Fuji Yuuta-kun, these flowers are for you.”

A large scowl on his face, Yuuta accepted the flowers and walked back to his desk. His classmates whispered and giggled as he passed them.

The deliveryman apologized again for interrupting the class and departed, allowing the class to almost return to normal.

Asaoka-sensei continued her lecture on the Tokugawa shogunate. Taking a deep breath, Yuuta opened the attached card. Though he already knew who the flowers had to be from, he was morbidly curious about what was written on the actual card.

The card read:
‘Yuuta, shall we go on a date?
How about a hot springs ryokan?
My Love Always, -----’

At least Aniki hadn’t signed his name, which while a small favor, was still something to be thankful for. However, Yuuta did not feel particularly thankful at the moment. Every time he caught the fragrance of the blossoms, he found himself thinking about his brother. When he was lucky, it was his anger over his brother pulling a stunt like this and when he was unlucky...

The last hour of class was the slowest in Yuuta’s life.
