So today, I got a message from livejournal that someone had commented on one of my posts asking why they could not download a scanned doujinshi. I should note, the post I had made sharing the scan was from 2008. I should also note that the comment right above theirs from 2010 was asking the same thing they were asking, how come they can not download the zip. When I told the jerk to please see my response to previous questioner, they responded back whining about how they just really want the doujinshi to download. WTF?!?! Buy the damn book yourself you cheap schmuck. Having seen how rare it is for people to credit circles when they then reuse their art for icons/moods/etc. Having tried to be a doujinshika and met so many circles and worked with them, I can see why things like this piss them off. I am not going to contribute to the problem and so removed scans.

And seriously, why should I still be hosting a doujinshi I posted about in 2008?!!?!

But they really waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanted it and if they're persistent enough you'll understand right? Right? You, you, big meanie head! :O

*rolls eyes*

Sorry you had to deal with that. That's totally obnoxious. It's one thing to say politely I noticed this was up, is there anyway it's still available somewhere but making demands is just rude. >__> Like you don't have better things to do than cater to someone else's needs. Yeesh.

Wow talk about entitlement complex - as if they think your response now is going to be any different to the 2010 response. Geesh some people.

I hear ya.

Sometimes I'll get comments on posts I made years ago when I still shared publicly from people asking for a working link.

Yes, of course because if I promise not to make gifs why shouldn't I just give it to them.

Fandom just seems so rife with entitlement issues sometimes. It just seems even more ridiculous to ask at all when I responded to someone a year ago and said I'm not sharing doujinshi in the comment before their request.

Exactly, and it's like if you want the damn book so much buy it yourself, it's not my job to give you stuff for free.

Exactly, and it's like just because you did something in the past does not mean you are going to do it currently. 2008 was a while ago.

That is just plain rude. Okay, I could maybe see them asking again, if they hadn't seen the reply from 2010 or something. But complaining after that? Ugh. :x

It just made me want to break things. I really don't like all the entitlement people feel for no apparent reason.

Seriously. Getting something for free should be a happy, serendipitous moment - not something you deserve.
