My husband started his new job today and so I was alone with the baby. He's gone into work a few times since she's been born, but now him not going into work will be the exception rather than the rule. I think we both miss him already.

Today was hectic and involved some of those fun moments that tell you that you are parent such as: being piddled on, trying to get boogies out of your baby's nose, and getting puked on. About the only thing she didn't do was poop on me today. I felt really bad about the puking, but she seems somewhat settled and fell soundly asleep on my chest which is one of those things that always makes me feel loved and happy. That and seeing her cute little smile always makes me smile and feel at peace.

The trip to Walt Disney World went well and I think I've now drank the Mickey punch since I want to go back. It's just such a great place to go with a baby/kid because you can take them to restaurants and not feel bad if they get fussy. Plus (and this is the major selling point in my book) it is much warmer than here and there are heated pools and hot tubs. (vs. here where there are ICE STORMS! YEAH!)

For those curious high points:
We all enjoyed the Disney Princess Lunch, me, Adina, my Mom and my Mother in law. Though Ariel was sort of wench.

Jiko, The Wave of American Flavors and the California Grill would be delicious to eat at no matter where they were located.

Adina did GREAT on the plane! She fussed a little bit when taking off for FL (only enough for the family in front of us to hear and they had a little girl so I am sure they understood) and within 5 minutes she settled down. She spent a lot of the flight sleeping on my lap. She was a little fussy when landing but less so than the first take-off. Our flight home went even better since it was around her bed time so there was very little fussing.

I got to ride Splash Mountain!

Our hotel was gorgeous and we had a non water-view waterview.

Adina liked the swimming pool!

Wishes Fireworks, even if Clamp has forever ruined the word "wishes" for me and I just keep imagining people like Fuuma and Lelouch talking about wishes.

Negatives:

After spending part of the day in Epcot, I realized how hard it was taking Adina to the parks and pumping. The Baby Care Center is super nice, but it makes it so hard to do other things and Adina just would rather sleep.

1900 Park Fare was super loud and possibly made me feel ill (though the characters there were great!)

WDW kept losing our dinner reservations (which made me feel a lot less guilty when we were late)

The pillows sucked. They were like fake down, and I lie my pillows much much firmer.

I gained back (plus some) any weight I had lost ~.~

Overall it was a lot of fun and we got to see [livejournal.com profile] ad_exia though I forgot to take a picture despite bringing my camera and dressing up Adina.

My grandmother keeps canceling and un-canceling her 90th birthday party on Sunday and I wish she would make up her mind. If it was me... I would totally have one!

buckled in and ready to go!

walking around the hotel

My amazing dessert at Citricos, though the main course was disappointing :(

The backdrop on our private balcony

At Epcot and looking fat as a house

My dessert at the California Grill (I feel so Japanese!)

My dessert at Jiko's (notice a theme with all these desserts XD; )

It looks like it was a lot of fun! Orlando is on our list of places to go (when we can afford to). Glad that everyone got a chance to relax!

Kennis got a new job? Is it a new position in the same company or a completely new employer? Good luck to him either way!

You're the third person on my flist to go to Orlando in the past month or so! WARMTH...!!!

I think so too, but I am very biased. But it was really fun doing the character meals. I'm a sucker for such things since I never went to WDW until I was 24!

I have to find a place that develops actual film to see what the swimming pool pictures look like. :D

And yes, yes they do, it's particularly noticeable since I don't wear any make-up. And neither does Adina We have a few pictures of the lipstick marks from Alice on Adina.

We got really good airfare, which is one reason we chose it. The parks and the nicer hotels are pretty expensive. We got a discounted price, but still costly. We probably spent as much on our 4 days in WDW as I spend for 1 week in Japan. But it was such a nice break!

Kennis is now at a completely new company. He's been in the slow process of switching jobs since last year at this time. It's one reason we moved up here, the new job is only about 15 minutes away.

Alice has always been my favorite Disney character (I love the real books too, just not the new Tim Burton version.)

Welllll not for my poor husband. He stayed in the room to babysit Adina for a few meals and missed the amazing food at Jikos. Though fortunately he did get to enjoy the California Grill, which was my favorite. ♥

All the desserts were soooooo yummy. I didn't get a picture but one place had these adorable little mini desserts in little mini containers! I feel like at least if I am going to gain weight, I did it with something yummy! Now to get back into exercising here. I've just been so exhausted. I feel like I'm the Sleeping Beauty now :P

Well you know, the rest of us were eating and Adina prob felt like Mom wasn't putting out. XD;

Oh, I would definitely go back when she is older, it helps that it is such a short and cheap flight from here. Though she should still consider herself lucky, no one took me until I was 24! XD;

Awww, you all look so great! I'm glad to hear that both you and Adina had a good time. :) Sorry you had to come home to all the cold and ice... but at least you had a lovely break from the winter. :)

Glad to hear that you guys had a relaxing time & were able to enjoy the warm weather! Did you stay at the Grand Floridian?

Those desserts look like the ones I got at Storytellers Cafe in Downtown Disney when I went for my birthday! And yes, they're all - el yum!

You may not wear make up -- but you just have such a happy, healthy, glow when you're holding Adina. ;-)

Yes, and now my Mom wants to go back! I think she has become a Walt Disney junkie. She bought a Silver Mickey Mouse ring and has been expounding on how great Mickey is now lol

I think all 5 of us had a good time, though honestly anywhere with warmer temperatures and a nice pool would have made us all happy.

Yes, we all stayed in the Grand Floridian. We got a super discounted rate. I would never stay with rack rates. But if you could get the same discounted rate as us, I would definitely recommend it!

Hmmm next time we go to CA I will have to check out the Storyteller's Cafe. XD;;; I love fattening chocolate desserts.

Adina makes me smile, even when I am exhausted and just want to sleep lol

Hahaha I would XD;; I adore her to pieces but Mommy gets hungry and well eating helps me make milk. >>;

Watching a baby is fun, but exhausting as well.

We're not going to NY Dolpa, but we might try to go into NYC for one of the days it is held to see people and get a nice lunch. That and I wanted to go to the Union Square Farmer's Market!

It was wonderful to see you too! The trip was really great and I think everyone else really enjoyed WDW as well. The biggest problem was I gained back all the weight I had lost. lol

You got to see her and see how cute she is in person too. Though nighttime is not her best time, she is much more alert and active during the day.

Yessss~ And yeah, I'll bet she's sleepier at night, but at least that's a good thing! <3

It's funny how many people I met from colder climes vacationing in WDW to escape.

I love that she sleeps well at night it makes my life so much easier, though she went to bed a little earlier than usual tonight.
