For those who don't know, I'm fast approaching my Level 2 Ultrasound. (It's early in the morning next week.) What makes this appointment special, is I get to find out what sex Ryu-chan is. Supposedly the ultrasounds are quite good now and what they see is likely to be definitive.
For years I thought I would prefer one sex to the other, but now that I'm really pregnant all that matters is that Ryu-chan is healthy. However, that doesn't mean I'm not curious and that I don't want to know.
Kennis thinks Ryu-chan is a girl. What do you think?

Date: 2010-05-23 11:04 am (UTC)I'm going to be happy so long is little Ryu is healthy, which is so far how things are going. I made it through the genetic testing, the NT (to check for chances of Down's and some other genetic defects) and finally got my ASP or was it APS results! This just leaves the level 2 ultra sound on Tuesday where they make do the anatomy check (I know during the Nuchal I saw what looked like 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 hands, 2 feet, 10 toe buds, 10 finger buds, 2 ears, and the technician saw the nose bones. This is of course also when I find out the gender.
After that, they just check my weight gain each month (Once I get a weight gain in May I was still down from my weight loss....) My urine for gestational diabetes, my blood one more time to make sure I've not somehow become HIV positive (not worried about this one since we're faithful) and my blood pressure to make sure it remains low. But to me those tests all seem a lot more low key. I'm really really happy.
Re: But should the parachute match the nursery?
Date: 2010-05-23 11:07 am (UTC)I did guess, but didn't want to influence other voters. :P
Honestly, I'd be happy with either one so long as the baby is healthy.

Date: 2010-05-24 08:25 am (UTC)Do you guys plan on moving again soon? I mean, naturally you want to find your own house soon, but are you hoping to do so before Ryu-chan is born? You didn't move in to the rental place all that long ago, right?
Hmm, I guess most of the voters would had been inclined to agree with mother's instinct, had you voiced your guess. ^_~
The baby being healthy is of course the most important thing. It's still interesting to speculate on possible gender, names, etc though. ^_~ But of course you will love Ryu-chan and he/she will be the most perfect baby in the world to you, regardless of the gender. ^^
Re: But should the parachute match the nursery?
Date: 2010-05-24 01:48 pm (UTC)No we're not moving until probably about a year from now, but the baby will still only be 6 months old. I'm hoping to buy or build something around the time Ryu-chan is born, and we'll then have it re-done while we live here. Having work done on your home while you live there is a miserable experience even without a newborn.
