I have realized the baby in me is somewhere between PF and LaTi Yellow size and weighs about the same as the above. I'm not sure which is scarier, said realization or the fact I am comparing my future child to a doll.
Things I had no idea about before I got pregnant and might have given me pause had I known about them beforehand.
You can still be puking on a semi regularly basis in the 4th month. I'm half way through week 17, week 18 starts month 5 and what did I just do 20 minutes ago? I puked up that Fuji apple I ate around 6:30 pm.
Your mouth tastes like metal, particularly right before you puke and frequently has a bad aftertaste. Yes, your hormones play havoc with your taste buds and for me this meant awful metal aftertaste all the freaking time. Now it's settled to just unpleasant aftertaste after I eat. I'm going to cry if I have this through out the pregnancy and then into nursing.
That your nails grow super super fast.
That your body hair looks super dark, particularly since my skin has been looking particularly pale, even for me.
That all your body hair grows super fast including unwanted body hairs and those few white/gray hairs you can't dye because you are pregnant.
That you need to eat every few hours, as in not doing this can make you more likely to puke.
Lots of headaches.
I am sure there will be more unhappy things to come.
On the positive side there is:
That you can almost be to month 5 and actually weigh less than before you got pregnant, though my belly is definitely poking out a lot more.
Pregnancy clothes can be cute! Though ordering on-line is not as good until you can figure out your size.
Hearing the baby's heart beat.
Seeing the baby, I'm excited for my late May ultrasound cause Ryuu-chan should be looking, like a baby, not that he/she didn't in early April, but now they'll REALLY look like a baby. You get so attached to the baby in you so quickly, it's weird and sort of nice.
Feeling weird fluttery movements that you're pretty sure are the baby.
