Before I get a packin'
Dec. 3rd, 2009 01:49 pmTo start things off on a happy note, I got some perfume as a gift from
reynardine Thank you!!!!! It was so sweet of you! :D Now I have one less Holiday scent to try and chase down and debate as my PayPal balance dwindles. I also received the Yo Vampire set I've been dying for as a gift from Red Rosin, whose LJ I don't know. I so appreciate it, and it's like a pseudo birthday gift even if that was not the intention.
On the sucky side, the person I commissioned to get me perfumes at the Trunk Show not only probably didn't get me any of the bottles but hasn't posted that she definitely didn't and I want her to refund my money now since it seems like she didn't get any. I mean it's been a couple days I think it is not unreasonable she refunds me and tells me she definitely didn't succeed. It's really frustrating and annoying, though I might have gotten a testor of Blue Phoenix from someone so I can at least know if I love it.
And even suckier... there is trying to clean the house to sell it. You can't even tell I've done any work. ;;_;; I am trying to be good and toss out all sorts of things I've been saving for reasons unknown including a Hebrew School notebook circa 1983 meaning it is about the same age as
muscatlove It included a wonderful potential letter to a potential Israeli pen pal declaring the following about me: I like to travel, I like using a computer, I love drawing and being "creative." I like dolls and watching TV. I just read that list and think wow.... things really don't change do they lol
But I know everyone wants to see me be a Sengoku Basara fangirl and visit Sendai and Matsushima so...

One of the restaurants/landmarks near my hotel, Oh Sendai how you love your founding father

I loved this danger sign, I'm not sure why
After checking into my hotel in Sendai I headed to Matsushima. Matsushima is (in)famous for being one of the 3 Great Views in Japan. The 3 are: Ammonishidate in Kyoto Prefecture (the one I'm missing), Miyajima's floating tori in Miyajima, and the pine islands of Matsushima. I expected them to be cute and tiny like the ones in Onuma... I was so wrong lol

One of those mess up pictures that still sort of looks cool

One of the islands closest to shore with I want to say a tea house Date donated

The islands from the boat

For anyone wondering why there are so many seagulls, people were FEEDING THEM!! I think I have a video clip of it. o_O

Niou Island, the only one of the islands I remember the name of lol

The city of Sendai!

I think these are the graves of various Date children and various important retainer's kids through the years

But of course the reason I was there was to visit Zuihoden the mausoleum of Date Masamune

Date and Me.. or well his grave lol Sadly the original was destroyed in World War II but had been carefully reconstructed to be an exact replica

Date's mausoleum went all out with the decorations

the crest

There was a tiny museum next door that did not allow pictures but where I found out: Date was shorter than me. Date had the same blood type as me. Date was no where near as hot as in Basara lol

The mausoleum of one of Date's sons, I think the one who ruled after him

One of these is his son and one is his grandson. Interestingly enough supposedly the Yukimura in Sanada Yukimura comes from from said grandson XD;

Less important Date graves including the wives of some of the later lords. (Masamune's wife's grave is over in Matsushima, no where near his and for some reason is decorated with lots of tigers lol )

Buddhist temple near Zuihoden

With awesome woodworking!

More of Sendai

Sendai Art Museum near where Sendai Castle use to be, something we did not destroy in World War II

remains of the castle

Everyone's favorite one eyed dragon looking out on his city where his castle once stood

The horse seriously needs a motor added

bas-relief of Date

Look, I'm Date! "Let's Party!"

Attack of the Japanese Sengoku Basara fangirls! Yes, these are actual ema hanging at the shrine where Aoba-jo (Sendai Castle) once stood. I am in awe.

Let's Party!

I'm not sure Sanada can help you get into a good high school lol

Yes, I do see....

They're on a heart lol

Did Sanada hear the fangirls want to see him shirtless?

The actual shrine
Stay tuned for the scary video I made on the cruise featuring people getting far closer to seagulls that I think a person ever should. I want to state now, *I* did not let those seagulls come near me!
