Hotel reservations have hit some new snags and I'm trying to figure out how in the heck I use my supposed JR discount cause I think my life will be complete if I can stay in a hotel with a 8 million dollar spa wing.

It's not just that, I mean I might not personally like some of the new One Offs, but I'm not about to go insulting people's taste there or making obnoxious comments to people who want more than one of the dolls. It's just not necessary and she is being either a troll or an ass.

Though seriously if I could convince Volks of one thing it would be to let foreigners who actually make it all the way to Sato to be able to order dolls and have them shipped abroad. It's not as if they don't ship plenty of other dolls abroad as it is. *sighs*

Yes and then the LA store could ship them to their new owners. It can't be sales tax issues since I can walk into a Volks store in Japan and buy what I like and just pay sales tax and I am obviously not living in Japan.

It's odd because they ship so much to the VolksUSA store now to be distributed.

I've had a few friends loan me their addies so I could order FCS, but not everyone has that and I think particularly if you go all the way to Japan you should get that option.

I'm hoping to suggest it at some point. ^^;

I'm not really sure why something isn't in place now. I mean they send plenty of dolls from Japan/Kyoto already. I won a spot on the cruise and they're sending my Williams to VolksUSA and then onto me. It just seems odd if they can handle that and not handle this.

Sato would still be a super special experience, just one people who actually traveled all the way there from the US could truly experience. I mean they're the ones who don't like the idea of services, and in not allowing people to even place their own orders they're sort of forcing potential customers to use one.

Though I honestly believe Sato would be special regardless of whether there were any Sato only exclusive merchandise.

I think it's more than just the economy. Foreign fans aren't quite the same as Japanese fans and I think some of their business practices might be off putting.

If I lived in LA I might consider it but I admit the only way I am going out to LA right now is next time BPAL is doing something cause MUST GE PROTOTYPES!!! ♥

I mean I accept that my taste in dolls is not absolute, but honestly putting down someone's taste in a public thread like that is just... there is no reason to do it. I mean I don't personally like one of the dolls in question, but I'm not about to say something negative in a public thread like that. It's called having manners.

And if people want to put in for every single doll it's really not her place to judge them.

I don't think the place is open to non-hotel guests, but I think as long as you are staying there the spa wing is meant for you! ♥

The hotel ins question (http://www.associa.com/english/tky/spa.html) I need to email them and see if I can get the JR pass rate for those nights. Japanican has rooms open and wants 4000 yen more a night. ~.~ I hope it works out, if not I found a few other possible interesting places in Takayama, it's just the onsen here look to die for.

I still need to book Takayam, Hachinohe, and Sendai. I am hoping to spent 1 night in one spa near Sendai and the 2nd night in an onsen near Matsuhima. :D

It's not quite as good as my onsen vacation last trip to Japan but it should be pretty onsenful ^_^

I adore Prototypes or at least the concept of them. I admit I got into BPAL a bit late and would love some more rares just so I could trade them for rares I know I love. I adore Sugar Slathered Apples. I can't wait to see what the resurrected this year is.

I could uhhh see some future in-laws >>; And go to the LA store finally. Will Calls would be fun too, but to make it worthwhile there has to be something hard to get involved.

Though on the other hand they've taken all 3 of the "exclusive" NY Dolpa dolls and re-released them at Japanese events. The only dolls they kept special for LA were Ruby, Garnet and Pearl who only seem so popular with US fans and honestly probably wouldn't sell well in Japan.

But also it's not an apt comparison the web lotteries vs physical events. This is more like telling Japanese people who flew all the way to LA to go to a Dolpa there that they can attend but not purchase anything.

I am not really sure how much the Japanese would care if they let US people order in person.
