At least it's not the same day as the JLPT this year. Though I probably won't do either.

Okay, it is the same day. :P I fail at remembering dates. And Volks fails at scheduling.

Well, I don't think they really plan thinking in terms of the JLPT since most Japanese don't take it :P BTW PLMK when the Kobe cruise is, cause I am going to Japan in Oct, got my spot for my doujinshi event

But yeah, I remember the JLPT being around then last year which is why I thought someone ought to share the date ahead of time so anyone deciding between the two knows with plenty of time.

Someone was asking me if I was going and I was like... uhhh no. Am not spending my birthday in Japan without the husband and waiting in line for hours.

Nah, I wouldn't expect them to plan around the JLPT (or Pearl Harbor Day, like some idiots on DoA do), it's just that EVERY SINGLE EVENT they have happens on the same day as something else. Couldn't go to Kyoto Dolpa, Nag Dolpa is the same day as Super Comic City, and I'm pretty sure I have to work on the day of the Sato event in October. D:

I am not even sure the Japanese remember Pearl Harbor Day XD;;;; Though of course that is the 7th :P

Which are you doing SCC or Nag Dolpa? I know which one I would pick... of course I am trying to get the doll I want through the US sellers so I don't need to be there. XD;

I am trying to figure out when the cruise and Sato event are since my event is 10/18. I have to be in Tokyo for it but the rest of my time in Japan is pretty open. Assuming I have my books together before I get there. XD;; I really hope to since it sucks spending an entire day trying to make up and print doujinshi.

Well, to answer your question, the cruise is 10/3. And I suspect the Sato event is 10/10, because it's usually on the 3 day weekend. I'd already agreed on Dolpa, so I'm going to that, even though the offerings are pretty bleh.

Yeah I saw the announcement for the cruise.

Ah well, it is out of my hands then since I'm going to Japan around the 14th or 15th. I thought Sato might be the 17th since that event always seems to be around that time of year. I really want to spend some of the Jewish holidays home, so I'm not going to come early just for a Sato event.

I like Suzuna lol but again I am trying the USA methods, it's so much easier!

Sorry you have to go, SDCC is what I would go to, but then we all know I prefer gay porn. XD;;

BTW if you can, let Lannie know that if her drive didn't make the clicks of death you can get the data off it and I can ask teh husband how. Her computer died so I can't contact her and I don't have her email for texting her cell.

Wait, wat. The Sato event is 10/4?? I can go!

Lan's taking her computer in today; she's pretty sure it's an OS problem and not a HD problem.

No, I've no idea when Sato is, unless you got a Volks News that says. I meant I saw that the cruise was the 3rd. ^^;

I had thought the Sato event might be 10/17. In the past they always seem to be around then because I am often in Japan on 10/19.

Yeah, it sounds like it, or possibly something else in the computer failed. If she was in NY my husband could possibly fix it. But she was worried about getting her data back and from personal experience, so long as you don't get the clicks of doom, you can usually get the data back.

Wow that is early. o_O

Congrats on being able to go though. I won't be, the earliest I will get into Japan is 10/15

But I am debating staying around until 11/1 to go to Spark and/or Doll Show.

Yeah, I'm surprised that it's not the 3 day weekend. Even better, I might get the 5th off since I have to work on the 10th.

I'll definitely apply for the cruise, since it's Kobe and won't cost a fortune to get to.

Well except the cruise itself is 15,000 o_O;

Considering there is nothing I could eat and I don't want the doll I am not sure I would try to go. But good luck getting into that and hope the Sato event is fun.

I'm excited for my event on 10/18, though I need to get work on it. plus I get to be home for all of Sukkot!

Yeah, but a Tokyo cruise would cost 3x that.

Well not for me, for me they're all equally expensive :P

I bet a lot of people apply if the Sato event is the next day. Are you going to scan from the News? I am curious about the Yo outfits.

It's too bad you can't use my app to up your chances.

The outfits are toddlery, but they come with cute shoes. Dunno if I'll have time to scan.

I use to own the Strawberry Rompers set, it looks a lot more normal without the detachable bib/hood. Then it looks like a cute red dress set. the picture of the cotton candy sets were blurry though. I'll see if I can find any of the pictures I have of it sans bib.

So why do you have to go to Nag Dolpa if you don't want anything???

I never said I didn't want anything? Anyway, I already bought the guidebook, and I want to hang out with people and go shopping.

No, you just said the offerings were pretty bleh. Even with the guidebook price, it'll cost you a lot more to get to Nag over Osaka.

I don't know I've just gotten to the point where I try to weigh what I want at something vs. how much time I will be standing in line miserable.

My big prob is if I stay in Japan until the 1st do I go to Doll Show or Spark, and can I do both? If I do Spark, I can try to get a table and sell any leftovers from my event on the 18th.

SCC has just as much standing in line being miserable as Dolpa does. ^^

Yes, except

1) It is cheaper to get to
2) You are more likely to get what you stood in line waiting for
