So I'm back from my reunion and Cedar Point. Chances are high that other than RPG journals I'm not going to be reading anything posted while I was away, cause it's just too many posts. Anyway, I know people would rather read about my trip to Japan in May however, Since May 1999 I've been to Japan 10 times and in that same period of time, this was my first trip to Oberlin and to Cedar Point.

So for Oberlin The Cult... it was really neat seeing people I went to college with. A lot more people are married and a lot more have kids and lot more attended the reunion. I'm starting to think that it really was a cult, or at least Dascumb, the first year dorm was, since the majority of attendees from my year lived in 'scumb. The town the cult is located in is no longer dry, so alcohol is plentiful. On the negative side, the Feve, which was famous for its delicious cheesecake and desserts, now mostly carries alcohol and their hummus was blah. Very depressing. The Black River Cafe still rocked and I got to see soooooo many people. This time around slash fan-fiction was a topic of conversation. I didn't take a lot of pictures or share the ones I brought with that many people, but I did reconnect with some friends and I am determined to keep in contact with them via email now. The new science building weirds me out, it's too big and it took off part of Barrows, not that Barrows was that fabulous or anything.... The Environmental Science building rocks. It's so pretty the way they built it into the field. I played some new board games....and discovered I really don't like staying in a dorm room. Twin beds suck for 2 people and the bathrooms were not as nice as the Kimi's. On the bright side, I was in the actual dorm the reunion was being held in and we had ethernet access, which is why I checked in on-line a few days. *laughs* Also re-listened to the Lambda Expressway, damn is it SLASHY! And speaking of slash, despite several friend's insistence that real people slash is wrong... KevinxBrian OTP! (And yes, Kevin really sadi the above quote....)

As for Cedar Point....

I have experienced one of the greatest moments of my life... riding the Millennium Force in the front car. I went on it 7 or 8 times yesterday, including once in the front, once in the back and several times all over the place. Damn, it is a good roller coaster. The path it takes is so scenic and the first drop.... the speed... words can not express my adoration of the Millennium at the moment.

I also rode the Top Thrill Dragster which is, yes over 400 feet tall with an over 400 foot drop. It was an interesting experience, though as roller coasters go, Millennium is a far better ride. It seemed more like a free fall ride to me than an actual coaster. It did not fail to make it to the top the 2 times I rode it, however, I did SEE it fail to reach the top and go hurtling back down last night. *laughs* I hear that makes the ride better. Speaking of ride disasters.. while I was waiting for the Millennium, some of the riders got stuck in the train while going up the hill.. Oooooops. That must have sucked, or it would have sucked for me since I'm afraid of heights actually. It was also REALLY chilly, but I had a sweatshirt ^o^ I also learned that light drizzle on a 72 mph coaster HURTS!! A LOT!!

Thank to [livejournal.com profile] kosquarepelli I stayed at The Breakers. It was a splurge, but so worth it! I got a parking lot view room, which turned out to REALLY be a COASTER VIEW ROOM!!!! WOOT!!! Who wants to see stupid Lake Erie when you can fall asleep to the glow of coasters?!?!?! It also came in handy cause we left the parks and took a break and were able to ride the 'Get You Soaked Rides' and then change. hehehehehehe We also went to the park Memorial Day night for a few hours.

For those curious what I rode on Tuesday, here is a rundown:
Dragster
Millennium (7 or 8 times)
Magnum
Mean Streak
Mantis
Raptor
Gemini
Disaster Transport (longest frickin line other than first row in the Millennium >.<)
Snake River Falls
Cedar Creek Mine Ride
Wild Cat
Scrambler
Troika
Calypso
Wave Swinger
Thunder Canyon
