The dust settles...
May. 6th, 2009 11:11 pmRather literally in this case. I've come home to find out my husband had the radiators removed from the house, much to the cats chagrin. We are also FINALLY getting new counter tops!!!! I'm so excited, I hate the wood ones we currently have and they're insanely hard to cover for Passover. My new ones are recycled glass and are a lovely blue color. I can't wait to share pictures. :D We also had the entry way redone and now I am up to thinking about some painting work. I'm debating whether doing the living room in a pale reddish color is too much color and if it will make the room feel to warm in the summer. The other idea is to go dark and do a dark reddish color that will blend with the couch and the curtains. I'm thinking of redoing the dinning room in a blue color and I think I love the green the entry way use to be as well as the colors upstairs which were actually picked by me. Though now I would probably look into how environmental the paint is. Our green manure hoary vetch is taking over. >.< I need to go out with a scissor and just got it tomorrow since it is going to choke my seeds. I am not sure what I am going to do with the large patches, maybe the gardening shears? The basement has also been completely redone and now I have a lovely work space down there for gardening ;;_;; I think I want to get a grow lite and some more trays. I'm just so happy. It's also great to be home! I had a few bumps in my trip, but overall I made it and that is the important thing!
Glass counters sound cool.

Date: 2009-05-07 02:03 pm (UTC)I think they're pretty awesome looking. We got them from here (http://icestone.biz/) and we're getting Sapphire Snow, we had a sample to see how it would look. I really want to add more color to my house.

Date: 2009-05-07 02:07 pm (UTC)We use the stove now to heat the house so it seemed silly to have them taking up space though. Kennis promised we could get more bookcases! I'm going to check Craig's List and the newspaper for furniture.

Date: 2009-05-08 01:50 am (UTC)BTW at some point I would love your help leaving some reviews on Rakuten! The place in Zao was so amazing, but Fujisan didn't work out as I didn't know their shuttle stopped running after 19:00 and it was 7000 yen to take a cab there! The place I stayed in Oyu was amazing and actually made a vegetarian kaiseki dinner and breakfast for me!

Date: 2009-05-08 04:03 pm (UTC)I'm kind of nervous about helping you with reviews on Rakuten... the few reviews I saw were exceedingly polite, and (this is going to sound terrible) because my parents are the ones who taught me Japanese, I'm not that good at being very polite in Japanese. :p
