It seems recently there was a study where it was discovered there is brown fat which helps you to lose weight! But for it to work you need to spend several hours in temperatures of 61F/16C a day. If this is all true and I have brown fat, I am so set. The house dropped down to 56 last night and I'm so cold ;;_;;

For those who don't know, according to some Japanese, Jesus did not die on the cross, in fact it was really his identical twin brother who died in his stead. Jesus made his way out of the Middle East to... Japan where he became a rice farmer, got married, had kids and lived to be 106. Jesus loved Japan having spent 13 years prior studying Shinto and bringing Shinto concepts into Judaism when he went back to start his preaching at 33. And so you can visit Jesus' grave in Shingo, Aomori .... And I want to go!!!! I'm so hoping [livejournal.com profile] ee970 is willing. And to make it even BETTER Shingo is known for its garlic, so supposedly you can buy ANTI-DRACULA GARLIC ICE CREAM!!!! OMG weird Japanese ice cream and Dracula!!! I think I love Japan.

Wednesday I headed out to see [livejournal.com profile] triplepunch in Nagoya! :D My time in Nagoya was low key and relaxing other than when I decided to completely change my plans and revamp my trip. After much soul searching, I realized I didn't want to get up early and wait in line to maybe get something at Tenshi no Sato. I understand why Volks does lotteries but I don't enjoy them. I much prefer first-come/first serve. And [livejournal.com profile] ee970 and [livejournal.com profile] akaisakura were getting together to go to Hakone and soak in onsen. And so things were changed quite suddenly and in my opinion for the better.

Lovely view of Fuji-san from the shinkansen while headed to Nagoya

The amazing all vegetarian Chinese place in Nagoya where I ate lunch! ♥

Chibi Mariya ([livejournal.com profile] triplepunch's ), Gino, Suzaku and Lelouch at the Nagoya Sumika

Suzaku and Chibi Mariya became fast friends

The same was true for Gino

But not Lelouch

Gino took this as time to make a move on Suzaku, again.

Mariya had no idea what the boys were up to

Chibi Mariya enjoyed spying on them lol

Lelouch was even less amused

Gino showing off his new face-up courtesy of Yamamura Tatsuya

Everyone (from L to R Hawthorne and new friend Lelouch discussing being part of an evil empire, Rolo trying to get Lelouch's attention, Akiyo and Aroa, Chibi Mariya, Gino, Mariya and Suzaku )

Going to Hakone, I got to pass Fuji-san again

We had to cross here to get from the bus stop to Yunessun lol

Once we had safely crossed it

Enjoy the fog XD;

Sadly, I have no pictures inside Yunessun though you were allowed to take pictures at the bathing suit onsen. We overnighted in Hakone at a hotel Erin found for us on-line.

The main bedroom

The Livingroom

The Dinningroom

Kitchenette

Asian style dinning room/2nd bedroom

There was a bathroom as well ^_____^ It also had 2 or 3 onsen that could be used by guests at least one of which was a rotemboro. Erin and I used the rotemboro and I actually liked it more than the ones at Yunessun >>;;;;

The view from the balcony

The hotel! I love how steep the streets are, we had to climb up and down them the night before to go to the combini for dinner.

The cable car tracks which put the cable cars in San Francisco to shame.

Ohhh I love your icon! ♥ I need to spend some time around Daiba at night getting pictures this trip. >>;

You should go! Hakone was lots of fun, I have some other pictures of there to share in my post tomorrow. >>;; And the onsen... *_* Erin says it is not so expensive to get to as a day trip from Tokyo and I imagine if you plan things further in advance hotels are not so bad either. We lucked out and it was like 7000 yen per person for the place we stayed.

YES! I want to visit Jesus' grave and eat garlic ice cream. I wonder if there are t-shirts or postcards, this is even better than Obama! XD;;;;

That Jesus grave is hilarious! Although St. Thomas the Apostle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_the_Apostle) supposedly went out east, certainly as far as India and perhaps even into China, so maybe that's supposed to be Thomas' grave instead? ;-D

Thanks again for the pretty pics. The trees aren't even budding here yet, although I have finally spotted a few daffodils.

Yay for pics!

I think Chibi-Mariya and Gino would enjoy hanging out together.
CM: Hello! We both like pink! Yay! Let's be friends! :DDDD

Actually, I suspect it is all completely made up when it comes to the grave since it was not "discovered" until the 1930's. ;D

It's the middle of nowhere Aomori and I think this was seen as a good way to get in tourists and I hear it has worked, I know I for one want to go, the idea of Dracula ice cream is just too much.

We have forsythia, but no tulips yet so it doesn't feel very Spring like here. I wish the lows would stop being in the 30's. ;;_;;
