I'm still working through older LJ flist posts so if you suddenly see a response from me on an older post, that is why. Thank you again for your patience in advance.
In doll news, I totally need to take pictures of my current family, some characters have been re-worked and others sold. I'm considering selling my SD boy F-35 to change the character to another shell, he would come with FCS only wig and zouks, I would be asking $900+US shipping which is much less than it would cost to order a FCS from Sato new. He's on the jointed SD boy body and he has FCS only hands, I want to say the clasped ones.

Our table. I really ought to have gotten more pictures but we were running late. >>; I am determined to be more organized for Tokyo.

I loved how this shrine was just in the middle of a busy trendy shopping area

Namba jinja

This is from the still very much in use Buddhist Temple near Honmachi station. Oddly they had no temple stamps but they were having a service and seemed to have a lot of programs.

Yodobashi Bridge (though isn't that a little repetitive?)

I love that this is a mail box

The Umeda Sky Building

The awesome decorations at the cheap hotel I stayed at in Osaka
On Tuesday,
ee970 and I went to lunch at the really good Indian place with
akaisakura and then went and hung out a cafe while I drew a circle cut for Haru. We'd totally forgotten the application was due by the 16th in Tokyo and between the fact I tend to feel more comfortable drawing by hand and the fact that I couldn't do one via the computer I found myself drawing a circle cut in a bit of a rush lol It was nice just hanging out and walking around a bit. I am slowly getting some of Osaka geography down so that I don't need to take overpriced Kansai public transportation for walks I can easily do myself and discover when I can just walk from one station and skip the wait and difficulty of transferring to not save time. I so wish I had the Osaka equivalent of the Bilingual Atlas.
Erin and I had wanted to go to a special hot cocoa cafe but it was closed and so tried the place attached to my favorite crepe place. I admit, I think I prefer their crepes and I think their too rich dessert upset my tummy. >>;;;
Wednesday I was pretty much alone in Osaka so decided to do some shopping and to walk around and explore. I mostly just walked up and down Midou-suji dori and went to the large temple near Honmachi and Namba jinja. I walked from Shinsaibashi all the way to Umeda and then went to the Umeda Mandarake. :D I was so proud of myself for finding it after getting a bit lost in the Whity mall and ending up over near the Pokemon Center instead >>; I got lunch at this amazing and cheap Italian place I found semi randomly and had dinner at the vegan place I knew in Shinsaibashi which is waaaaaay more expensive for dinner!

Date: 2009-01-26 06:59 pm (UTC)I love the picture of the little bird and the shot of the Inari jinja. Someday, we want to do an Inari jinja tour of Japan. That really is a neat mailbox too -- I'll have to show it to my husband.

That sky building terrifies me, omg. I'm not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of people falling from them. ^^; Are those walk ways way up there? Please tell me they're enclosed. T_T
And I got your post card!! :D Thanks so much, hun, it's adorable. *hugs*

Date: 2009-01-27 05:57 pm (UTC)plus it has yummy food!I really like that picture too, I was sort of shocked that it came out so well since it's sort of hard for me to get pictures of birds usually.
The first small shrine I can't remember the name of was right near the Osaka branch of Mandarake and Baby the Stars Shine Bright lol

Date: 2009-01-27 06:02 pm (UTC)Wow a Bambi ninja would be sort of cool. And I've done the same sort of thing where I keep reading something wrong and thinking what.. what... lol
I'm afraid of heights, it's why all the pictures are from the ground XD;; Yes, the walkways are enclosed as otherwise people would use them to commit suicide. (Some of them are actually enclosed escalators in tubes!!) It's one of the biggest differences between the Eiffel Tower and Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Tower's observation decks are all completely enclosed. Future pictures will share the Japanese predilection for committing suicide, particularly in the Tokyo area >>;;
And yeah I'm so glad you got it! :D *hugs* Hubby just got his!

Date: 2009-02-03 08:49 pm (UTC)The Umeda building is really nice, I believe the same architect also did the Kyoto train station which is one of my favorites examples of modern architecture in Japan.
