Sorry for being so incognito. I'm completely addicted to the crack Geass RP. It has reminded me that RPing is one of the best ways to grow to like a character one never liked before and to change some of your ideas on pairings. Mainly this has gotten me to finally like Kallen more. >>;;;

Anyway I'm not going to post my thoughts on 20. I am anxious for 21.

Fortunately, I've not let my addiction stand in the way of me working on dinner and going through things from my CSA. For those who missed it, I belong to CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) where once a week we are given a "box" full of organic veggies grown within about 100 miles of where we live. Some weeks, the veggies are great and things I am excited to eat, like tomatoes or potatoes or arugula, and other weeks it is things I've never eaten a lot of so I need to get creative like watercress, chard and fennel. So far some of the funky herbs have been my least favorite, like anise hyssop. My father claims you can make sambuca from it, which is maybe an idea since I think it is pretty gross otherwise. Last night I made the most wonderful tempeh and string bean stir fry! I'd been marinating the tempeh overnight with a mix of things I found sitting around my house. lol I should write down the recipe for the future or like trying to measure things >>;;;

The chard is so getting turned back into lasgna! ♥. I made some a week ago when Karl came to visit for dinner. It was really amazingly good and I need to get some ingredients tomorrow so I can make it again.
However even more than not posting in LJ and not working on fan-fic, the other thing I have been very remiss with is working on my trip to Japan which is now under 2 months away! GAHHHHHHHHHHH!!

So because there are still hopefully people out in LJ land reading my LJ despite everything...It's Poll time!!

I'm going to Japan on 10/16 arriving on the 17th. I know I want to spend the first bit in Tokyo and see my friends there and go to my event on 10/19 cause yes that is the whole reason for my trip in October! >>;; I then want to head out west, [livejournal.com profile] triplepunch I'd love to stop by and see you on my way west!!!!! I then want to end up in Kansai. I know I'd like to marathon karaoke on Friday night with [livejournal.com profile] chocolate_chip and anyone else who wants to join us. Maybe go to TnS late in the day on Saturday so I can recover from all night karaoke lol On Sunday I want to go to Osaka Comic city and on Wednesday I fly out from KIX.

I'm hoping to make it to Ise, maybe Kanazawa to see the gardens, maybe Disney Sea, maybe Nikko and maybe Katsura if it's not booked completely >>;;;;

For Tokyo, I am looking to stay in 1 of 3 hotels I have stayed in before.

The Center Hotel is in Nihombashi about 10 minutes walk from Tokyo eki. It's pluses are it is about 7800 yen a night. Pluses: The room last time was clean, well designed, had yummy fruit juice ♥ and was near Tokyo eki (10 min walk) Nihombashi eki (5 min walk) and Kayabacho eki 5 min walk. It's a 25 min walk to where my event is or a very short subway trip on the Hibiya to the next station and a short walk. Negatives: Nihombashi sucks for restaurants other than the Dean and Deluca in the basement of Tokyo Eki ♥

The Kazusaya Hotel is also in Nihombashi, but a different part of Nihombashi. It's 2 minutes walk from Shin Nihombashi station an easy transfer from the NEX or 6 minutes walk from Kanda Eki. It's also about 7800 yen a night. Pluses, it's even more convenient to subway lines than the Center since it is 5 minutes walk to Mitsukoshi-mae, an easy walk to Kanda and not impossibly far from Tokyo eki. It's also a short walk to where my event is being held. Negatives: See above about places to eat and i thought the rooms seemed dark and sort of meh.

The Grand City Hotel in Ikebukuro. It's about 8500 yen a night. Pluses: It's in Ikebukuro ♥ So places to eat, and lots of shopping. Convenient to try the places I want to eat in Okubo area/Nakano/going west on the Chuo line areas Negatives: It's a 25 min plus train trip to get to my event, Ikebukuro is not as convenient to the subway lines that go to Shibuya and Harajuku, the bed was not as comfy as the one at the Center.

All the hotels do have internet.

I am also trying to figure out my trip in the West! I really want to see you [livejournal.com profile] chocolate_chip and you too [livejournal.com profile] misspaulette!!! I'm debating whether to spend the whole time in Kyoto or move Osaka.

Yay for planning! I'm looking forward to seeing you!! Hopefully I'll be able to escape from Bug Nag and play on the weekends you're here. And if you're in Osaka that means massive shopping hanging out will be easier because then I can do a day trip. And Tenshi no Sato too? :D

Thanks for the comment about test vs Dolpa--I think I'll apply for the test and if for some reason my application doesn't go through it'll be a sign I'm supposed to go play with dollies in Tokyo and spend too much money there.

I know I'm weird to think you should skip Dolpa, I just know it is expensive and while fun it is also intense an stressful. I know I was completely exhausted by it in May! You should totally consider a Doll Show at some point, it's an interesting experience and Hawthorne could go! Depending on a few things I might try to go >>;;

I so want to see you!!! I'm not sure of your hours but I'd love to meet you around 5ish or so in Nag? and we could have the evening and then depending on your schedule i would then take an early train away or we could hang out and stuff, depending on what is best for you. I'd like to go to sato on Sat but like mid afternoon so that I can recover from karaoke. >>;; I've always wanted to do marathon karaoke all night long and I am thinking Friday is a good day for it!!!!

You could join me for Comic City and see the scary doujinshi, Edna would so want to go, though Mariya should not

All I can say is that it would probably suck to go all the way to Osaka after all-night karaoke just to come back to Sato a few hours later.

I work evenings but I'll totally take that night off when you come down. :D Hanging out sounds like tons of fun, even though there's not much to do in Nag, but we could find something to get into and keep ourselves amused.

Yeah, Dolpa is very expensive and stressful, and I like going to the other doll shows too. Nag has iDoll and Doll'S Garden so I won't be mission out terribly--I might even look up some of the Big Tok events out there.

omg Edna would enjoy Comic City far too much and Mariya would probably need therapy afterward I'll pass on Comic City, just because there aren't any anime or manga I really like atm, but I'm sure you'll have a blast!

DID YOU KNOW there is a new subway line
the FUKUTOSHIN that goes from ikebukuro-shinjuku (3chome)-shibuya ???
so now you can get from ikebukuro to shibuya and avoid JR if that is what you enjoy doing. :3

NOTE I did not vote because I don't really have an opinion. There is a lot lot lot more to do in ikebukuro and your last train is later since it's JR and a major station and there are tarts and the butler cafe but there is the temptation of lots of porn outside your door and there's something to be said for that as well. I don't know anything about eastern Tokyo but that there's a burgerking in Kanda(?) and the chocolate cafe is nearish Tokyo station. ANYWAY good luck.

Ohh would it be OK to take off that evening then? I feel bad asking people to take off too much time, but I don't feel bd about one evening. :D What time do you work the next day? Prob when you go to work I will head to Kyoto/Osaka. We can go back to Pastel <3 <3 <3 BTw let me know if you want me to bring you anything other than peanut butter cups!

I just always find Dolpa super stressful. I think I would have died in line in April if I hadn't been able to text you and Emily and Paulette. I really really like Doll Show and would highly recommend it. It's quite large, I think about 350 dealers. It's not held at Big Sight though.

At least it's not as bad as Comiket >>;;; I think that would traumatize Mariya forever I'm addicted to Code Geass and in Oct it will have just ended. But we could meet mid way through the day and do Osaka post! :D If you're taking a shink back, Shin Osaka is not so much longer/more expensive to Nag then Kyoto

This is very true which is why I was thinking of staying in Kyoto a bit and then moving down to Osaka for the second half of the trip. I'm thinking it might be harder for you to meet me for dinner on Mon and Tues night and then Wed I leave from KIX, though I think my flight is late.

Does that work for you?????

where is this chocolate cafe and can we go??????????????????? Chocolate cafe!!!!!

and no I did not know there was a new subway line, how interesting! >>; I shall have to think more.

Nihombashi is sort of dead at night but it is usually easy to get elsewhere. And I can take the JR too since I can walk from JR Kanda or JR Tokyo eki and shin-nihombashi is JR too XD;;;

But heheheh must think now.

I'm biased towards Ikebukuro for the shopping, personally! That was the hotel you stayed in last October, wasn't it? I guess it depends how far you feel like travelling and how much you're going to have to carry if you do a lot of shopping.

I couldn't make up my mind about Kansai. If you're marathoning late-night karaoke in Kyoto it's probably better to stay there at least some of the time!

Yes, this is the same hotel I stayed in in October. I liked it, but I am just not sure it is worth the additional money for me to stay in Ikebukuro. It does have nice shopping, but is it really more than a day's worth of shopping is the question.

I hate having to make these decisions but I want to make them today! :D finally
