And another ficcage
Jun. 23rd, 2008 11:12 amI need to work on getting out some packages of items I sold, but I've been trying to get this drabble turned into a ficlet done for the last few days. lol And the fic actually takes place pre-Geass so there are no spoilers, it's general with no pairings and is mostly upbeat and cracky. lol

Unbetaed and since my Japanese sucks, contains completely made up past story, takes place in 2008 before Lelouch and Nunnally have come to Japan
"But I want to ride the roller coaster now!" pouted Kaguya, stamping her petite foot and crossing her arms. "That's why I wanted to come here specifically! We did what Suzaku-kun wanted for Golden Week and went to Katsura Rikyu and hiked from Kibune jinja to Kurama-dera."
Despite his usual patience, Todou Kyoshiro thought he was going to soon have a migraine if the tiny firecracker of a girl was not quiet. Even with his abilities at relaxation and meditation, the shrill voice of his charge had kept him from finding any peace the entire excruciating trip from Kururugi jinja to Nagoshima Spa Land. It had seemed like an easy favor two nights ago when Genbu had requested the kendo instructor chaperone this trip, but now he felt duped. "Neither of you have had your breakfast yet and you need energy if you want to enjoy the park, Kaguya-chan."
"But I had an onigiri in the car and so did Suzaku-kun! We don't need any more breakfast."
Standing several feet unobtrusively away from his more vivacious cousin and instructor, Suzaku quietly sipped from his bottle of C.C. Lemon, wishing he was back home and not about to face another of Kaguya's tantrums. While it was true his Uncle Daisuke had taken the small boy to both those cultural sights, they'd also spent an entire day visiting Toei Uzumasa Eigamura Park and half of one at Kyoto Tower, as well as several maiko performances at Kaguya's insistence. Truth be told, the movie park had not been a complete disaster unlike the tower or the geisha performances. But the villain during the Ninja Skills performance had frightened Suzaku and made him cry and then Kaguya had insisted they dress up as Japanese princesses to have their pictures taken.
"Suzaku-kun wants to go on the roller coaster now too!"
"Is this true, Suzaku-kun?" asked Todou, raising an eyebrow in question.
Looking up from his soda, Suzaku blinked curiously having only barely caught his name. "Ummm..."
"Suzaku-kun loves roller coasters!" Grabbing the comparatively larger boy's arm, Kaguya started dragging him towards the line for the coaster spilling some of the soda before Suzaku could cap the bottle. "Don't you, Suzaku-kun?"
Furrowing his brow in confusion, Suzaku stared at his cousin and her encouraging smile. A terrible sinking feeling began in the pit of his stomach remembering clearly the time she had decided they both needed to be Maikos. "Ummmm..."
"Todou-sensei can get his breakfast while we go on the roller coaster, neh? The restaurant is just right over there."
As quickly as the tantrum had started, Kayuga was now smiling brightly and pulling her cousin ever closer to the back of the line.
"Suzaku-kun, are you sure you want to ride this?" questioned Todou skeptically.
"Suzaku-kun!!!" pleaded his cousin, letting her nails dig ever so slightly into his wrist.
Blushing slightly at being the center of attention, Suzaku nodded his approval and gave the bottle containing the remains of his soda to Todou knowing there was no way he was not going to regret this. Swallowing hard he tried to smile, telling himself how important it was to put other's needs before his own like his father had so often drilled into him and to remember how happy this would make Kaguya.
"Yeah, I want to go on it." Giving her hand a tiny squeeze, Suzaku headed confidently to wait in-line his decision made. "You can get breakfast, Todou-sensei, I'll make sure nothing happens to Kaguya-chan."
Shaking his head, Todou just watched the children, not wanting to explain to Suzaku that he needed watching as well. The majority of the Japanese population had never seen a picture of their Prime Minister's son, as the boy was being raised in relative anonymity at the family shrine. But even so, Todou had a responsibility to protect him which was another reason Genbu had picked Todou for this mission. Pulling out his keitai from a pocket, the relatively tall man started deftly typing a message to Genbu.
"Oi! Kaguya-chan, what are you doing?" demanded Suzaku, horrified that his cousin was removing her sneakers while they stood in line.
"Shhhhh!" giggled Kaguya as she pulled out two triangular wedges from her pocket. "I need to make the height line."
"Height line?"
Pointing ahead ten people, Suzaku saw where the ticket gate entrance was and a brightly colored line demarcating how tall one needed to be. It was only 110 centimeters and he easily made it, but Kayuga was a bit too close.
"This will be our secret," grinned Suzaku.
Standing with her back erect, Kaguya coasted past the height line as they held up their admission bracelets to be checked. "I hope it's not so long before we ride."
"I doubt it, look we just sort of loop around there and climb those stairs and--What are you doing Kaguya-chan?"
Rolling her eyes at her cousin, she gave him an exasperated look. "I'm texting my friend Ayumi-chan, neh, smile!"
Before Suzaku could even get his fingers into a peace sign, his cousin had snapped his picture to forward to her friend. Standing on tip toes she took several other semi-random pictures. Shaking his head at her antics, Suzaku pulled out his Nintendo DS to play his illicit copy of Pokemon Diamond. Usually his father was loathe to call in any sorts of favors but after much wheedling and begging, Genbu had managed to secure an early release copy of the game for Suzaku's 9th birthday. Between schoolwork, his kendo training and the responsibilities around the shrine and the fact that Suzaku was an active boy and enjoyed exploring the actual world not just the virtual, he'd not gotten very far in the game yet.
"What are you playing?"
"Just a game," answered Suzaku quickly and shutting the lid. One of the conditions of his father's little favor was no one else was allowed to see the game until the scheduled release in September.
"I want to see!"
"Did you get a picture of Todou-sensei for Ayu--Oi!"
Kaguya opened the DS and was disappointed to see just another Mario game, having completely missed Suzaku's swift exchange of the cartridges.
"Don't take things like that from me, Kaguya-chan." Carefully, Suzaku took the game system and put it back into his pocket.
"You just didn't want me to see how bad you were, Su~za~ku~kun"
Rolling his eyes, he crossed his arms and tried to look superior for a whole minute before joining his cousin in laughter which didn't stop until they had to navigate the stairs to the loading platform. Upon reaching the top, Kaguya smiled brightly and walked self-confidently towards the front seats, knowing her cousin was bound to follow. Trying to ignore a few looks of disapproval, Suzaku hurried after her, hopping into the seat next to hers. Tentatively he reached up and pulled down the harness.
"What sort of roller coaster is this?"
"A good one! Someday, when I'm bigger, I'm going to ride the Steel Dragon too!"
"You're never going to be taller," teased Suzaku poking her in the side.
"Will too!"
"Do you have any loose items?"
Turning Suzaku and Kaguya stared at the smiling ride attendant who was holding a small plastic container. Frowning, Suzaku reached into his pocket and removed his DS and keitai, while his cousin added hers. The attendant then flipped something out of sight, and the harness suddenly became tight across Suzaku's chest making it harder for him to breathe. Checking to make sure it was tight enough on the two children, the attendant nodded and moves to the next two passengers. Curiously, Suzaku listened as the procedure was repeated until everyone on the train was secured, eyes staring at the track that lay ahead of them.
"You're not scared, are you Suzaku-kun?"
"Of course not."
"Good!"
Rolling forward the train caught the ride lift chain, the gentle click clacking almost soothing. Suzaku liked this, the feeling of rising and the view as they climbed the lift hill. Spotting Todou, the boy waved enthusiastically until his stomach gave a lurch as the track and train dipped down a small drop before curving.
"Here comes the good part!"
Eyes widening, Suzaku thought he was going to be sick as he stared down the first drop. Swiftly he closed his eyes and clutched desperately at the harness until his knuckles whitened while his cousin shrieked with joy, knowing the only escape from the predestined path was for the train to jump the track which he definitely didn't want to happen. Trying to fight his panic, Suzaku began praying to any deity he could think of that this would soon be over while the train felt like it careened along the tracks.
"Loop, Suzaku-kun!"
Opening his eyes for the barest second, Suzaku wished he hadn't the moment he saw the way the track twisted and coiled much like his stomach. This was even worse than being dressed like a maiko, in fact he would be willing to dress like a girl every day for the rest of his life just for this ride to end.
With a sudden loud rumble the train finally came to a stop, Suzaku taking desperate gulps of air into his lungs while they paused on the tracks a few seconds before returning to the station, dried tears coating his cheeks. Shakily he climbed out of the car while Kaguya collected their belongings.
"Come on Suzaku-kun, let's ride it again!"
"What!?!?"
Before Suzaku could even fight her off in his weakened state he was being lead out of the ride and back to the line. Not even seeing the concerned look Todou gave to him or his bouncy windblown cousin pushing their possessions into the taller man's hands.
The second time was even worse than the first since he knew how much he hated it now. But there was little Suzaku could do once the harness was locked down and the train started on its course. And after a third time, Suzaku felt so sickened and dizzy he broke away from his cousin and rushed to the bathroom where he lost his meager breakfast.
It wasn't until their trip home several hours later that Suzaku realized his copy of Pokemon Diamond was gone.
